We all know that Rachel and Penny are two of our favorite girls from TV. They both have it together but are a little bit on the silly side sometimes. Who can forget Penny's lovable optimism about breaking into acting, or Rachel's funny attempt at Thanksgiving dinner? The best thing about Rachel and Penny is that they seem to get the best lines in the whole series. Time and time again, they have hilarious comebacks or memorable one-liners that just makes us love them even more.
Rachel and Penny might be featured on different television shows- from completely different decades- but they have a few things in common- they are fierce, funny and two of the best cast and written female characters on any television show!

Who hasn't been in this situation? One of our friends accidentally- or in some cases- on purpose, does something that totally stabs us in the back! There are plenty of different types of professionals in the world, including people who can rightfully call themselves "doctor". Having said that, there are also certain types of doctors that are arguably more useful than others in an emergency situation, as this character pointed out. Her clever rebuttal to the scientist/doctor certainly put him in his place a little bit. Who agrees? Both Penny and Rachel are famous for coming up with nicknames that stick. In the case of one of these characters, they came up with one for the ages- comparing one of their friends (pictured here) to a robot. Don't worry- the character in question totally didn't take offense to the nickname. In fact, he probably loved the fact that she thought of him as a little more robotic than human. I hope it’s still funny when you’re in hell
Sometimes there are things that are funny- and sometimes there are things that are funny in a way that makes us feel not so good afterward! We're only human and there's nothing wrong with snickering a little bit at situations that can seem a little off-base at times, as was the case when either Rachel or Penny delivered this hilarious rebuke to one of their friends. It was a good reminder that just because something is funny, doesn't make it right!

Well isn't this the truth! There's nothing worse than feeling sick but it does happen to the very best of us. Once in a while, we come down with a cold that just knocks us off our feet and has us running for our comfy clothes! We have all dated those people that we really wanted to be great for us, but if things didn't turn out, we had to make a difficult decision. This quote should be the statement of the century! All we need to do is swap out "Greens" for our own last names and it's a call to do our best and not quit no matter how tough things get. Penny and Rachel are known for giving their friends all of the support that they need during the toughest times, so it is no surprise that one of them rolled out this great quote to inspire themselves and their friends to succeed!

Okay, so this is one of the greatest quotes of all time- and it totally sums up adult life in one perfect line! When we're kids, our parents generally do our laundry and it just materializes perfectly folded and clean in our rooms. In adulthood, the same really does not hold true! Either Penny or Rachel was the subject of the list that her romantic interest made in order to figure out whether to date her or another girl. Yep- it's exactly as callous as it sounds, and one of our leading ladies definitely did not take too kindly to being itemized on a list!
When I was 15 my dad bought me my own boat.
This character is famously and adorably out of touch with reality at least in the beginning of the series. Her privileged upbringing was a source of amusement for her friends, and they never stopped teasing her about it. It's hard to argue with them though- with statements like these. Fortunately, this leading lady learned how to make her way in the big city by meeting up with a great group of friends and finally figuring out how to do her own laundry.

We all have that one friend who is super competitive and doesn't let anyone else win.
