How I Met Your Mother is a show that captured our hearts with nine seasons of laughing, crying, smiling, and cringing. Ted, Barney, Marshall, Robin, and Lily were all unique and intricately woven characters who we were able to see a bit of ourselves in.
The show began with Ted realizing that he wanted to begin the search for a serious girlfriend to one day marry and have kids with. He felt left behind after his best friend admitted that he planned to propose to his own girlfriend. The rest of the series is a tale told by Ted to his children about how he met their mother. It is a story of heartache and perseverance, of faith and lost hope, of weakness and strength. Ted represents the struggle that most people go through to find "the one."
All of the characters go through things throughout the show, bringing out the best and worst in them. Many famous lines were said, both inspirational and funny, sometimes even tragic. It took Ted nine years to relay the story of how he met his wife but at least we had the opportunity to get to know him and his friends.

One of the members of How I Met Your Mother had several catchphrases, including the legendary one. They said it very liberally, as if simply saying the word would make the story, event, or adventure truly legendary. The amount of power in the word alone had the rest of the group either groaning with foreshadowing regret or smiling and high fiving with excitement. This member of the group was known for being easily excitable and always up for an adventure. Who was it?
"Today I yelled at a little girl for drawing a rainbow."
Someone had a very bad day in the episode "Everything Must Go" and yelled at a little girl. It was season three episode nineteen when Lily tries to sell her artwork so she does not have to sell her clothes to fix her apartment. At the same time, Ted is sabotaged by Barney and a girl who is in love with him. Barney had been previously sabotaged by this girl since he had had a one night stand with her and she felt hurt. So who had the worst day and yelled at the little girl?
"Where's the poop, Robin?"
This phrase came into being because of a certain character's childhood dog. The dog used to poop in the house and when the character came home, they saw a certain look on the dog's face and knew that there was poop. Apparently, Robin made the same face as that dog did whenever she was hiding something she'd done. It happened most after Robin's breakup with her boyfriend Don. So whose dog was it and who always knew when Robin was lying?
"Look, you can’t design your life like a building. It doesn’t work that way. You just have to live it… and it’ll design itself."
Ted chased love and marriage like the Cayote chased the Roadrunner. There were so many valiant efforts and he almost caught it more than once, but it was always just out of reach. After many girlfriends, one night stands, a fiancée, and several breakdowns, Ted felt as if the world was rooting against him. Ted almost gave up home multiple times and wanted to create his own destiny, but a certain friend discouraged him from this. Who said these wise words of wisdom?
"New is always better."
Another catchphrase used more than once, "New is always better" was used to describe so many things. The main thing that it referred to were sexual partners, meaning that they should sleep with new people rather than being with the same person over and over. It was also used to explain that it would be good to tear down the old Arcadian building and erect the new GNB building in its place. Which one of the character's famous catchphrase is this?

Letting go of or losing friends is something most people have gone through at least once in their life. It is an inevitable part of growing up or maturing. What really hurts, though, is losing someone that you wanted to keep around or though you would have by your side forever. The romantic members of How I Met Your Mother understood this, so they attempted to teach that message to their kids. Which wise character brought up this important message?

We all remember George Van Smoot from How I Met Your Mother. The only thing is that we don't remember him as George or Mr. Van Smoot. Instead, we remember him as The Captain, lover of boats and husband to Zoey. The Captain was both terrifying and very kind, it all depended on if you were looking at his icy eyes or easy smile. Marshall even took it upon himself to print up large images of The Captain and try to figure out his evil status. So who answered The Captain with such a snarky reply?

It's no secret that Barney liked to play around with girls. He was the creator of The Playbook, after all. So sometimes, it came to the amusement of the gang to ruin his game. They'd run in and say things to counteract anything Barney had previously said. One of these times occurred with a member of the group impersonating a doctor and informing Barney that he was riddled with Sexually Transmitted Infections. Who had the great pleasure of doing so?
"I let you come 'wash' my 'dishes.' I said my oven needed cleaning; I invited you into a porno!"
In season seven episode three of How I Met Your Mother, the gang goes for dinner at Shinjitsu, their favourite Japanese food place. A wager is placed between Barney and Marshall which results in Barney having to wear a tie patterned with rubber ducks for an entire year. On another note, Ted tells the story of his recent encounter with an ex-girlfriend. He explains how they go back to he place and she says these hilarious words. Which ex-girlfriend was it?

A certain someone got a little too obsessed with graphs. There was a little block of time where many graphs were shown, including one that displayed the names of American presidents based on how inappropriate their names sounded and graphs depicting various facts about Barney. This member of the group became so obsessed with charts that an intervention was staged to make it come to a stop. Which member of the How I Met Your Mother gang was so fascinated with charts?

Throughout the nine seasons of How I Met Your Mother, Ted had several significant others. Ted, Robin, Barney, Lily, and Marshall were all avid Star Wars fans. In fact, the three boys would get together every year for an annual viewing of the trilogy. The tradition began back in college, when Ted and Marshall had been roommates. So when they discover that one of Ted's serious girlfriends is not a Star Wars fan, there is much shock and outrage. Which girl had never watched the movies?

Filled to the brim with enthusiasm, there is one character on How I Met Your Mother who is constantly fixated on being awesome. Whether it be girls, an adventure, storytime, or family, he never ceases to reach for the awesome stars. In the fourth episode of the third season, a certain someone casually mentions their distaste for children. She does not want to go through the birthing process nor would she if she did enjoy the presence of children. Since there was an unwelcome child in her life at that point, she had been attempting to make an effort to bond with said child. However, it did not turn out as she had hoped. Who does not want to have kids?
"The camera loves me Robin - more than loves me, the camera lusts me."
Some people are naturally photogenic and some people struggle harder to get a good picture. One character in How I Met Your Mother always had a perfect picture-ready face and it absolutely infuriated Robin. In season five, there is an episode called "Say Cheese." In it, the gang gets together to celebrate Lily's birthday and take some photos. After realizing that someone looked perfect in every single one, Robin spent the entire night trying to capture a bad photo of him. Who was this certain someone?

In the sixth episode of season seven, Ted decides to leave technology behind him and agrees to a date with no prior researching of the other person. The girl's name is Janet McIntyre and it turns out that she is famous. Ted, however, does not find this out until halfway through the date. Barney and Robin had found that information before but Ted would not listen. Robin also faces flashbacks from her childhood with her boyfriend, the psychologist, there. Who said these words?

Throughout the nine seasons of How I Met Your Mother, the members encounter their doppelgängers. They found Lesbian Robin, Mexican Wrestler Ted, Stripper Lily, and Moustache Marshall. However, Barney's doppelgänger becomes more complicated. When Lily and Marshall want to start trying to conceive, they decide that seeing Barney's doppelgänger will be a sign that they are ready. So, they start seeing him everywhere. The first few times turn out to be Barney in disguise, but then Lily tricks her eyes into seeing the doppelgänger. One of the male characters in How I Met Your Mother had few rules and no moral compass when it came to flirting. In the twenty second episode of the first season, Ted decides that he's not quite ready to give up Robin yet. He plans to make one final grand gesture to win her over. At the same time, Robin's coworker, Sandy Rivers, has been trying to get Robin to sleep with him. Robin faces these words at some point in this episode. Who said them?

None of the characters from How I Met Your Mother spend much time praying or displaying religious beliefs. Instead, they often like to have certain things remain a mystery. However, a pregnancy scare has one of these sitcom stars turning to the heavens for momentary guidance. When his phone rings, he loses interest in his prayer. Upon hearing that he will not be a father, a new holiday is created: Not a Father's Day. Who created this holiday to celebrate the fact that he will not be a father?

In the twenty-fourth episode of the sixth season of How I Met Your Mother, the members of the gang have their hands full preventing Ted from getting back together with his ex. Ted had been having trouble making any decisions lately and was currently dwelling on which lightbulb to install in the new GNB building. A can of worms opens when he runs into Zoey and wants to ease back into the old relationship. Who used these words to discourage Ted from making that mistake?

All of the characters from How I Met Your Mother have come face to face with hurdles. In season six episode eight, they all go to a black-tie event hosted by GNB. A lot happens there. Lily learns that Marshall may stop pursuing an environmental job, Robin and Barney touch as many historical artifacts as they can, and Zoey speaks with Ted about the new and aspiring GNB building. There is an episode in How I Met Your Mother where Marshall's car fails just short of reaching 200,000 miles. It is the seventeenth episode of season two when Ted and Marshall spend time reminiscing about all the times, both fun and miserable, that they had spent in that car. Some might agree that the funniest moments from How I Met Your Mother were the high school and college flashbacks where the characters all had funny hair, interesting significant others, or silly worries. "The Broath" is the nineteenth episode of season seven of How I Met Your Mother. The whole episode is an elaborate prank put on by Barney and his girlfriend, Quinn. Barney has Ted swear a Broath not to tell their friends that he's dating a stripper. Of course, Ted spills the beans and it leads to a very messy breakup between Barney and Quinn. However, after making a new Broath to "never meddle in his personal life again," it is revealed that the whole thing was a prank. Robin is unhappy about the relationship, so who baked her cookies?
"In marriage, being right is less important than being supportive. Remember: Happy wife equals happy life."
Marriage is an integral theme in How I Met Your Mother. Besides for the fact that Ted is constantly on a hunt for his prospective wife, Marshall and Lily have a healthy relationship and are in a good marriage. They all know the importance of a happy wife, being supportive, and knowing when to swallow their pride. In season nine, one of the main characters phrases it perfectly, but which one is it? Who understands the importance of a happy wife?
"Dude, lots of chicks think that architects are hot. Think about that, you create something out of nothing. You’re like God. There is no one hotter than God."
In season two, Ted goes through a time where he is struggling to find self confidence. One of his friends tries to convince him that being an architect is extremely sexy. The character begins to believe the words so much that they use it themselves, pretending to be an architect to pick up a member of the opposite sex. All of this happens after Robin and Ted have a fight but neither of them cheats on the other. Who tries to convince Ted that architects are sexy?
