Who Said It? Homer Simpson From The Simpsons Or Peter Griffin From Family Guy?

The Simpsons (1998-present) and Family Guy (1998-present) have been with us for many years (and let's hope that they will continue to be with us for many years to come!). Their witty humor, which although sometimes it is a bit dark, always succeeds in making our days more pleasant and filled with laughter.

Both the Simpsons and the Griffins are great companies for a lazy Sunday morning, but the fathers of each family (Homer and Peter) are most oftentimes the star. Having a lot in common (in terms of interests and beliefs) Homer and Peter have claimed many things over the years that demonstrate their connection. Whether that is their love of drinking or their affinity of getting into trouble in hilarious ways, Homer and Peter's lives are sometimes similar and other times, different. For instance, sometimes Peter is more unpredictable than Homer. Others, Homer seems to have a gentler heart than Peter. One thing is for sure: neither of them is boring since both know how to have fun either on their own or with others!

Let us see then which of these two family men has said what. Only the truest fans can distinguish which cartoon character has said these particular quotes!

Question 1

"Stupidity got us into this mess, and stupidity will get us out."

We all know that Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin are not the brightest characters out there. We also know that both of them like to get into trouble with their friends when they are out drinking. Fearless and extremely bold as they both are, Homer and Peter manage to get out of trouble on their own (well not that usually) or make someone else get them out of trouble (most of the times their wives Marge and Lois). In this case, Homer or Peter has a plan. Which of the two said this?

Question 2

"Operator give me the number for 911."

Both Homer and Peter have done a lot of absurd things (either on purpose or by accident) throughout the years, and will undoubtedly do more in years to come. Stating the obvious but not knowing that they have is one of the many reasons that both of them are hilarious. In this episode, the family has gathered for Thanksgiving dinner, and one of the kids runs away. In an attempt to find that kid Homer or Simpson tries to communicate with the police. Which one made this call?

Question 3

"I just bought a giant room full of gold coins and I'm going to dive into it like Scrooge McDuck."

Both Homer and Peter are terrible at handling money because both like buying things that have no practicality. While their wives Marge and Lois try and prevent them from purchasing stuff, most of the times have been unable to succeed. In this episode, the family comes into a lot of money. While Marge or Lois insists that they should not let money change how they see the world and that they should not buy anything senseless, Homer or Peter bought a giant room full of gold coins. Remember which one?

Question 4

"Kids, just because I don't care doesn't mean I’m not listening."

Although both Homer and Peter try to have a better relationship with their children, neither has a genuine relationship with his kids. Homer mostly ignores them, or tries to make them see the world as he does. Similarly, Peter doesn't spent much time with them (if you don't count the time he spends making fun of Meg every day) and on one occasion has called them boring. Yet, both love their children in their own way. Remember who says this quote?

Question 5

"I've got an idea. An idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about."

Homer and Peter might be a little bit slow, but the truth is that both of them admit from time to time that they are not that smart. Their lack in intellect is replaced by their arrogance which most of the time creates problems and others help them solve those problems. In this particular episode, Homer or Peter is at the bar with his friends and there is no booze because it got stolen. This idea will help Homer or Peter get some booze. Which one is it?

Question 6

"Let's go drink 'till we can't feel feelings anymore."

Homer and Peter go out for drinks with their buddies every day. They both enjoy drinking (especially beer) and they both seem to be troubled at times about their lives. Whether this is justified or not, well most of the times, it isn't, but that has never stopped either of our favorite cartoon characters. The solution to every problem is alcohol, and for this very reason, an invitation to go out drinking is said with affection and should never be rejected. Who said this quote?

Question 7

"With great mustache comes great responsibility."

Both Homer and Peter like to believe that they are the heads of their households and both find very weird ways of showing that. For instance, growing a mustache proves that Homer or Peter are great examples of what it means to be a man because a mustache is a symbol of manliness according to him. The mustache raises a debate at the breakfast table (some like others don't) but Homer or Peter stands by his choice. Who grew a mustache?

Question 8

"English? Who needs that? I’m never going to England."

It is flashback time! In this episode, we go back in time to the year that Homer or Peter met and fell in love with his wife. It is no big surprise that such head strong adults like Homer and Peter would have been the exact same way when they were in high school. Confident in their beliefs, Homer and Peter believe they are always right (even when that is not the case) and they will use any argument they can think of to support their opinion. Who said this particular quote?

Question 9

"Remember how you wanted that new engagement ring? Well I got a horse."

Neither Homer nor Peter are great with money. Both are very impulsive buyers, but neither ever regrets buying something weird. In this case, Homer or Peter buys a horse instead of beans and expects the family to respect his decision and welcome the horse with open arms. Who bought the horse?

Question 10

"You can have all the money in the world, but there’s one thing you will never have: a dinosaur."

Homer and Peter's logic seems warped at times, but they somehow are able to communicate what they want to say. Most of the times, both Homer and Peter believe that they have been wronged in some way or another, so their speeches that usually given in a passionate manner to prove what they think is an accurate point. Addressing the issue of money and connecting it to a dinosaur is no easy task, but Homer or Peter has succeeded. Who said this quote?

Question 11

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, this is not my batman glass."

In all honesty, Homer and Peter are quite a little bit spoiled. Having Marge and Lois taking care of them was very lucky on their part. Although both are grown men, they still have an inner child within them. In this particular episode, at the dinner table Bart or Chris says something that his mother doesn't like. Homer or Peter, on the other hand, has placed his attention on somewhere that doesn't relate to the conversation at all. Who said this quote?

Question 12

Who went to clown college?

Question 15

"Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'sir' without adding 'please you're making a scene.'"

Homer and Peter are definitely not the guys to go unnoticed. This is true about their families as well. For this reason, whenever they go out, they most probably cause a scene. The star of every scene, however, is undoubtedly Homer or Peter either because they are not getting what they want or because someone is disagreeing with them. Seeing that both guys are very headstrong, it comes as no surprise that they cannot handle conflict. Which one wants to called 'sir' at least once in his life though?

Question 16

"You know I always thought that dogs, uh, laid eggs. And today I learned something."

Even though both Homer and Peter have a dog (Santa's little helper and Brian Griffin to be more exact) it is no surprise that either Homer or Peter didn't know the specifics about how dogs have puppies. Who said this quote?

Question 17

Who said this particular excuse for not going out?

Question 18

"The sun? That's the hottest place on Earth."

Geography and Astronomy are not the strong suits for neither Homer nor Peter. Of course, that doesn't stop them from voicing their opinions (no matter how absurd!). There is no point correcting them, however, since they will endlessly defend their opinion. Which of the two thinks that the sun is on Earth?

"Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true!"

During this journey, Homer or Peter has learned a thing or two (or so he believes). Which one of the two met with dinosaurs?
