Who Said It: Angelina Jolie Or Jennifer Aniston?

Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie are practically as famous for their marriages and divorces from Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt as they are for their individual (and both very successful) acting careers. It seems that the drama attracts people as much as their work does, perhaps because their personal lives are so very interesting to the fans. This especially became true once their lives became intertwined in 2005 when Brad, who was still married to Jen at the time, met Angie on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and ultimately left her for his new love interest. Since then, most fans have been Team Jen or Team Angie, and so one would think that it would be easy to tell who said what.

The two women, while vastly different, are also surprisingly similar in many ways, and so being able to discern one woman's comment from the other's is not as simple as it sounds. Think you can do it? The following 25 questions will prove whether or not you really know Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie, from their obvious differences to their subtle ones.

Put your Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie, and Brangelina knowledge to the test in this "who said it?" quiz. Let's see just how well you know two of Hollywood's - and the world's - most rich, famous, and gorgeous women.

Question 1

"I never like being touched, ever. People used to say I held my breath when they were hugging me. I still do."

Can you tell which actress is holding her breath in any of the millions of pictures of each of them? Both Jennifer and Angelina have millions upon millions of photos out there taken with lovers, friends, co-workers, directors, family members, you name it- and usually they have their arms around each other, or are at least standing shoulder to shoulder. That is an awful lot of closeness for someone who does not like to be touched, but obviously she has learned to grin and bear it. Still, does one of the actresses look more stiff in photos with people than the other does?

Question 2

The first time I kissed Brad my knees went weak- I literally lost my breath!

This could obviously be either Jennifer or Angelina speaking. Both were in love with the man, and both married him. It is not a stretch of the imagination to think that both felt this way when they shared their first kiss with heartthrob Brad Pitt. Nowadays, he is still a hot commodity in Hollywood, but it seems that gone are the days he was seen as THE heartthrob; after all, he is 53 years old, and although he still looks great, he is not as young as he used to be. Still, maybe he has retained the potential to literally take one's breath away with a kiss; who knows?

Question 3

"I don't know what it means to be a sex symbol. When I look at myself on a magazine cover I don't see it as me, but as someone painted, fluffed, puffed and done up."

That is a healthy perspective from whichever woman said it. Angelina is often thought of as a sex symbol, and Jennifer not as much, but still she has graced the covers of tons of magazines. Both women have, and both have done countless ads, photo shoots, promos, spreads, and other modeling throughout their careers. It would be difficult to ever have to decide who is more sexy out of the two of them, but luckily, for now you just must decide who said this about themselves.

Question 4

"Therapy? I don't need that. The roles I choose are my therapy."

Both Jennifer and Angelina would have just cause for needing therapy, between being hugely famous stars and going through a divorce from Brad Pitt, both very publicly. But one woman feels as though the roles she plays are therapy enough. Perhaps getting into character for an actor or actress is akin to escaping his or her own life for a bit, almost like taking a break from life and pretending to have a different one, no matter how briefly. Jen tends to choose lighter roles in comedies (for the most part), whereas Angie usually plays darker roles, or more serious ones.

Question 5

"I'm odd-looking. Sometimes I think I look like a funny muppet."

What a strange thing for either Jennifer or Angelina to say! Of course, most women do not think of themselves as overly beautiful or hot, even if they are. But Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie are considered two of the hottest and/or most beautiful women in the entire world, so it is funny to think that either of them actually see themselves in this way. But to look at it in another way, this quote also reminds us that they, too, are just normal women with flaws and sometimes, not as much confidence as they seem to have.

Question 6

"If you want to make me smile, show me puppy videos. Cute puppy videos!"

What woman on the planet would not be cheered up by puppy videos? So who said this, Jennifer or Angelina? It could very well be Jennifer, who starred in the dog lover's movie Marley and Me, and who in general plays roles that are fun and playful, much like a puppy is. But it could just as easily be Angelina, who probably needs to smile some days between the burdens of six children, all of her work with movies and charities, and now her divorce from Brad Pitt.

Question 7

"I only play women I would date."

An easy way to figure this one out is by simply looking at which roles Jennifer and Angelina have played over the years. Both have too many to name here and now, so we'll stick to a few examples of each. Jennifer has played Rachel on Friends, Joanna in Office Space, Rose in We're the Millers, and Julia in Horrible Bosses. Angelina has played Lisa in Girl, Interrupted, Lara Croft in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Evelyn in Salt, and Maleficent in Maleficent. Which women do you think the speaker would want to date?

Question 8

"I'm seeking no spousal support from Brad Pitt."

Seeing as both women were married to Brad Pitt, this is not as easy a question as it would appear. Jennifer was married to him first, from 2000-2005 (she has now been married to Justin Theroux since 2015). Angelina met Brad while he was still married to Jennifer, and they were together for nearly 12 years, only two of which they were married. I would not think that either Jen or Angie would need spousal support from him since they are pretty financially independent, so it is a toss-up which woman said this.

Question 9

"When somebody follows you 20 blocks to the pharmacy, where they watch you buy toilet paper, you know your life has changed."

Every actor and actress has their own story of how they made it to stardom, whether by sheer luck (like getting discovered when they weren't even trying to), or by hard work and perseverance. Most of them also remember the moment it really hit them that their life was in fact changing, and that people were becoming their fans. And at least one actress has this memory from the moment she realized that people were big enough fans and she was famous enough for them to care about her buying toilet paper.

Question 10

"I'm a sweats and UGGs girl. Very casual."

Now who can you more easily picture wearing sweats and UGG's, and preferring to do so? She will likely be the same woman who seems more laid-back in other facets of her personality, and she is also the woman who said, "It's all about being comfortable, being easy, and having you be able to wear something and not having it wear you. It's classic. Every time I've tried to be bold and crazy, I feel like a Japanese animated cartoon character."

Question 11

"There's something about death that is comforting. The thought that you could die tomorrow frees you to appreciate life now."

This was said in an interview with People magazine in 1996, and the woman who said this also said that "If I think more about death than some other people, it is probably because I love life more than they do." This can be looked at in one of two ways: morbidly, or in the exact way that she means it, that life should be appreciated in the here and now, and that you never know when your last day will be, so live it up while you can!

Question 12

"Not many people know this about me but I'm a natural blonde. My hair went from light blonde naturally to a darker kind of blonde. My mother dyed my hair dark when I was a child as I loved the look then. So I'm basically a natural blonde."

Throughout their careers, Jennifer and Angelina have for the most part stuck to the same shade of hair. Jennifer has always had lighter-colored hair, often streaked and highlighted. Angelina, on the other hand, is usually known to have very luscious, dark locks that compliment her facial features nicely. But either woman could be a natural blonde, and either woman could have said this. It is easy to picture Jen with naturally-occurring blonde hair, but what about Angelina? Could it be her that said this?

Question 13

"My father and I are friends and my mother and I don't speak. It's a bummer. I miss her."

Jennifer and Angelina alike have experienced difficulties in relationships with their parents. It is public knowledge that they have each had a rocky road concerning one or both parents. Jennifer's parents are actors John Aniston and Nancy Dow, and Angelina's parents are actors Jon Voight and Marceline Bertrand. Maybe their troubles with their parents stem from the fact that all involved have been in the spotlight for so long. Then again, most people have issues with their parents from time to time throughout their lives.

Question 14

I grew up in front of everybody, really. The big years of exploration. There was a certain madness I was going through. I learned a lot about myself. People tend to sum up times in your life and simplify."

The woman who said this was born to parents who were both actors, and thus grew up somewhat in the spotlight. At the age of 11 she began studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, and later studied film at New York University. Undoubtedly, growing up around theater and actors shaped what she would become, although from this quote it appears it was not always fun and games, Nevertheless, fun or not, her childhood set the stage for huge success as an actress in Hollywood later in her life.

Question 15

"I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my femininity."

The woman who said this is referring to her decision to have a double-mastectomy in 2013. She did this because a genetic test revealed she had a high chance of developing breast cancer, so rather than wait for it to possibly happen, she took the bull by the horns and fate into her own hands. Jennifer and Angelina are both this type of person, who would take charge before there was a problem, and both still look stunning with no trace of missing breasts.

Question 16

"Anytime I feel lost, I pull out a map and stare. I stare until I have reminded myself that life is a giant adventure, so much to do, to see."

This quote was said by the woman who, quite obviously, values the world and all it has to offer. Through her words we see that she longs for more than just the ordinary, more than the nine-to-five workday and soccer mom life that many women feel they are stuck living. The woman who said this is adventurous, brave, and a go-getter. The woman who said this often speaks about travel, and also said, "Wherever I am I always find myself looking out the window wishing I was somewhere else."

Question 17

"I think there are opportunities for women in comedies- how zany is up to them."

Who between Jennifer and Angelina would have this sentiment? This woman also says in regards to comedy that, "People who do comedy are always underrated because they make it look so easy." Both fine actresses regardless of the kind of acting they do, Jennifer or Angelina make a good point with this statement. Not everyone can pull off being kooky, or "zany", and having it be convincing. Any way you slice it, acting is not easy, but both of these women do make it look that way.

Question 18

"I spent my first paycheck on a vintage Mercedes."

Either Jennifer Aniston or Angelina Jolie admitted to spending their first earnings from their first acting gig on a car- and a very nice car, at that. Neither woman grew up poor (both were born to parents who were also actors and both had relatively comfortable lives as youths), but it was likely that starting out in the entertainment industry, neither woman had money for a vintage Mercedes, either. So which actress splurged and treated herself after earning that first big paycheck?

Question 19

"I've always loved to combine different scents to come up with my own unique thing."

The woman who said this has somewhat of a passion for perfume and in fact, has her own line of them. She also has plenty of other well-known quotes about her love of fragrances. Last year, she released her fourth fragrance, called Beachscape. All of her previous perfumes were also quite beach-centric, because she loves the freshness of water. She says, "The creative process is always fun—I love smelling all the different elements and testing out what scents work well together. The passion fruit and ginger lily notes are my favorites."

Question 20

"The loss of a child is my greatest nightmare."

As we know, Jennifer has no children thus far in her life, and Angelina has six (three adopted, and three biological children with ex-husband, Brad Pitt). But that does not necessarily clarify who said it. Many people know that losing a child would likely be the greatest pain a person could ever know, whether they have their own children or not. The person who said this could also be referring to the loss of a child while pregnant, before giving birth. Not only a mother feels that this would be a nightmare.

Question 21

"When I was growing up, I wanted to adopt, because I was aware there were kids that didn't have parents."

Angelina Jolie has adopted three children (16-year-old Maddox from Cambodia, 13-year-old Pax from Vietnam, and 12-year-old Zahara from Ethiopia). If she is the woman that made this statement, then she has truly made one of her life dreams come true, and fulfilled a wish she has had since childhood. On the other hand, Jennifer Aniston has no children (biological or adopted), so she could be planning to adopt as well, since her childbearing years are fast coming to an end, if they haven't already. Being a mother in this way could very well have been her dream, too.

Question 22

"Cancer affects us all, whether you're a daughter, mother, sister, friend, co-worker, doctor, patient."

Cancer has touched the lives of more people than not, and it has sadly touched the lives of both Jennifer and Angelina. Angelina, who discovered she had an 87% chance of developing breast cancer after genetic screening and therefore had a double mastectomy, lost her mother, aunt, and grandmother to various forms of cancer. Jennifer lost both her first love and her best friend to brain cancer, just six years apart. As the speaker of this quote said, cancer truly does affect us all.

Question 23

"A relationship isn't going to make me survive. It's the cherry on top."

Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie are both women who could do without a man. They would probably prefer to have that kind of love in their lives, but as mature women who have both loved and both lost love, they have come to the realization that love is a bonus, but it is not necessarily essential for happiness. It is possible that Brad Pitt played a role in this sentiment, but for who? The woman who said this also said, "True love brings up everything- you're allowing a mirror to be held up to you daily."

Question 24

"I've never in my life said I don't want to have children. I did and I do and I will! The women who inspire me are the ones who have careers and children; why would I want to limit myself? I've always wanted to have children, and I would never give up that experience for a career. I want to have it all."

It can be argued that Jennifer and Angelina both "have it all", in their own ways- or at least more than most people. Both women are drop-dead gorgeous, successful in their careers, have known love (even if it did not last), and are able to buy anything in the world they want. There is not much more to be desired in life, except perhaps a family. Jennifer has no children, and Angelina has six, but still, depending on when these words were said, they could have been said by either person.

Question 25

"I do have tattoos, and I do wear leather, but there are other sides of me, that my films express."

Jennifer and Angelina both have many facets to their personality besides what they wear or put on their body, of course, as does everyone. But when you are that huge of a star in Hollywood, it is probably easy to feel like everyone judges you on everything, especially your outward appearance. This is likely because other than seeing them in film or on television (which is all scripted), the only way fans have to "know" them is by what they see. So the owner of this quote feels that she expresses herself not only through tattoos and clothing, but through her roles.
