Right now, zombies are once again a huge deal. In fact, the shuffling undead sorts are experiencing a major boost in popularity, largely down to the success of the ridiculously big ratings drawn in on a regular basis by AMC's The Walking Dead over the past several years.
Of course, zombies didn't begin with The Walking Dead, and the subgenre goes back decades in terms of movies, not to mention the very real roots of the 'zombie' concept that date back to ancient Haitian voodoo.
