When the True Blood series first premiered on HBO in 2008, there weren't a lot of people that were familiar with The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris, which the series was based on. In fact, Harris often accredited the HBO series for bringing attention to her novels and sold a record amount of copies after the television adaptation premiered. People became captivated by the storyline of vampires making their way into mainstream society with the emergence of the synthesized blood but it wasn't just the vampire characters that really won over fans.
People tend to get fixated on the vampires in the show but it was all the other characters that helped to bring the story together. From Tara's cynical outlook on life to Sookie's incredible draw as part fae, it seemed like everyone had their favorite characters in the show and not all of them had fangs. From shapeshifters to fairies to regular folks just trying to navigate through the changed world, the True Blood series never seemed to disappoint in regards to the storyline. While the characters in True Blood all seemed to be in costume at all times, that doesn't mean that the Halloween holiday was skipped on the show. The shapeshifters in True Blood were a huge part of the show and seemed to have far more intriguing abilities than that of the vampires. While everyone seems to focus on compromise for being the most important aspect to making a marriage work, it's hard to deny the importance of this ability in order to maintain any real relationship. Vampires in Twilight have received a fair share of criticism because of the fact that their skin shines like diamonds in the sunlight. One of the biggest reasons why so many people feel nervous before a first date is because of how similar it can be to a job interview. Everyone always seems to put their best self forward during the early stages of a relationship and then slowly start to reveal themselves as time pushes forward. While everyone seems to get caught up in their first kiss and the early stages of dating when a person's kissing ability is completely defining, not everyone holds the same weight on this particular skill. While the storyline in True Blood definitely kept audiences intrigued, some of the clothing choices weren't always received well. From the sweet tea served in people's homes to the respect given to the people of a particular age, it seemed like everyone knew what was acceptable behavior in the south. While everyone seemed to be focused on the True Blood they were serving at Merlott'e Bar and Grill on True Blood, that didn't mean that people weren't paying attention to the food they were serving. While the character dynamics was a huge draw to the True Blood series, it was hard to deny that the show had a number of truly vicious deaths.
