Which OITNB Litchfield Lady Are You?

Orange is the New Black is a Netflix original series based on the true story of a woman named Piper Kerman, who was sent to prison for the crimes of drug trafficking and money laundering, a decade after she actually committed the offenses. Thinking she had her life on track and in the middle of planning her wedding, she went to jail instead, and later chronicled her story in the book of the same name. Since Orange is the New Black premiered on Netflix in 2013, fans have fallen in love with the eccentric, crazy, endearing, and fascinating characters that are based on people Kerman was incarcerated with. Having just released its fifth season this June, Orange is the New Black has been renewed for seasons six and seven. Considering this story was based on a relatively short 15-month prison sentence, that seems like a lot of seasons.

Obviously, not everything that goes down on OITNB really happened to the real Piper, but fans don't really care, because they love the show so much. And what makes it such a great show are the colorful characters that are always getting into trouble in one way or another. Also very entertaining are the flashback episodes that give us insight into these characters' lives before Litchfield, and make them seem more human. They are all multi-faceted people with their own story to tell. Do you have a favorite, or have you ever wondered who you are most like?

Take this quiz to find out which character from OITNB you share a personality with!

Question 1

Choose a girl-crush.

There are limited options of love interests in prison, so you may have to crush on some women. Despite the terrible outfits though, Litchfield Prison has some decent girls inside its walls. And many of them are paired up already. If you had to choose, which girl would you fantasize about?

Question 2

What is your love life currently like?

One of the biggest tolls prison takes on its inmates is in the love department. Forced to spend long periods of time away from their husbands, boyfriends, and partners, these women really suffer. What is your current relationship status?

Question 3

Who would be your best friend?

It would be important while doing time to have a close group of friends to support you, or even just one friend. That can be hard to find in prison, but on OITNB, everyone seems to have bonded with someone else. There are several close-knit pairs. Who do you think you would connect the best with?

Question 4

Why are you in prison?

There are so many reasons a person could be doing jail time, and the ladies of Litchfield have many of them covered. From drugs to theft to manslaughter to credit card fraud and everything in between, they are all criminals in one way or another. Which crime would you have been most likely to commit?

Question 5

What do you want to buy at commissary?

Commissary would be a god-send in prison. Even if they do not offer everything a normal store would, it is better than nothing, and it is often the only way inmates have to buy things like toiletries, snacks, and other random, everyday items. Which would you be most likely to buy?

Question 6

Which reality show would you be great on?

Which reality show you would win or go very far on could be indicative of which OITNB character you are most like. For example, if you would do well on The Amazing Race, it shows that you like to travel, you know how to hustle, you are street-smart, and you can beat the competition, just like Alex.

Question 7

How is your moral compass?

This may sound like a silly question when talking about prison inmates, but even people in jail have moral compasses. It just means they messed up. Many of the women in Litchfield are really good people who just went down the wrong path or made a mistake. What are your own personal feelings of morality?

Question 8

Pick your dream vacation.

Where would you go on vacation if you could go anywhere in the world? Would you stroll the streets of a big city somewhere, explore a new country, relax on a beach with a drink with an umbrella in it? The prisoners at Litchfield probably dream about going these places all the time, and where you want to travel tells a lot about a person.

Question 9

Would you ever date someone of the same sex?

If you want a love life in prison, you are going to have to date someone of the same gender, and that goes for both men and women. That works out perfectly for gay people and those who do not label themselves when it comes to their sexuality. So would you ever date someone the same sex as you?

Question 10

What kind of tattoos do you have/want?

Prison tats are par for the course inside the walls of Litchfield- or in any other prison, anywhere. Inmates, like the rest of us, may have tattoos of things that are meaningful to them, or maybe they got a tattoo while serving time. Either way, probably more inmates have tattoos than don't, so what kind would you have?

Question 11

Pick a movie for prison movie night.

There is a time once per week that everyone gets together and forgets about prison life for a few hours. They sit with their friends, eat snacks, and share headphones to watch a movie. It is called movie night. Which movie would be your pick?

Question 12

Would you ever hook up with a guard?

There are many reasons an inmate may hook up with a prison guard. For one thing, they are pretty much the only members of the opposite sex that they ever get to see. Also, they do spend a lot of time together and could really get to know each other, like Daya and John from OITNB did. Or maybe it is a case of giving favors, like Nicky and that one female guard who gave her drugs.

Question 13

Who would you share a bunk/cell with if you had to?

Who you get assigned to room with in prison is a huge deal; it can make your time there go smoothly or very terribly. In Litchfield, it is not as bad because the bunks are open and it is more like a dormitory, although your bunkie is still pretty important. Who would you choose as a bunkie, if you had to?

Question 14

How was your childhood?

A person's childhood molds them into who they become as adults. Nature aside, nurture is largely responsible for how a person's life will turn out later on. Many prisoners, the women at Litchfield included, have troubled pasts full of things like drugs, abuse, broken homes, and bad relationships with their parents.

Question 15

What would you have done when the hole in the fence happened?

At the end of season three, the inmates of Litchfield got an unexpected surprise when one day, some workers left a big hole in the fence. Nearly the entire prison went through the hole and jumped in the lake for a swim. They were not trying to escape, but just have a little fun. What would you have done?

Question 16

What is your weapon of choice?

Weapons play a big role in the lives of prisoners. To start with, there were often weapons involved in the crimes they committed that got them incarcerated in the first place. But prisons, despite guards' best efforts to search for and seize any dangerous objects, are notorious for having very creative, handmade weapons of many kinds. Which would you have?

Question 17

Who is your favorite prison visitor?

Visitation day is probably the thing prison inmates look forward to the most. Seeing family and friends is like getting a little piece of the outside world and their old lives while serving their sentences, which can be years and years long. Who would you choose to have come and visit you on visitation day?

Question 18

What would be the hardest thing for you to get used to about living in prison?

When a person goes to prison, especially for the first time, their entire world changes- and not in a good way. The food, the sleeping arrangements, the clothes, the way they occupy their time, and every minutes of their day is under the control of someone else, and completely different than they are used to. That is a lot of new things at once to get used to, and none of them are easy.

Question 19

How would you get prison revenge?

Say someone does you wrong in prison. You are not alone if you would seek to get revenge on that person. Just look at Maria and Piper, for example. After Piper fired Maria from her panty business, Maria tried to start her own business but got caught, so she got revenge on Piper by burning a swastika into her arm.

Question 20

Which prison job would you choose to have?

One way to occupy your time in prison (and earn eight cents an hour) is by working. There are plenty of jobs to keep yourself busy, and help keep the prison running smoothly. Although none of the jobs are fun or glamorous, it is better than doing nothing and sitting in your bunk all day long.

Question 21

Choose your prison dorm

There are several cliques within Litchfield Prison, or any prison. It is hard to watch the show without picturing yourself in prison, and who you would hang out with. Often that is already determined for you just by how you look, or your age. Which of these cliques would you belong to inside prison, and thus which dorm would you be assigned to?

Question 22

Be honest: how would you handle being in solitary confinement?

Solitary confinement within prisons is a very controversial issue, and many people believe that it is inhumane. On OITNB, there are several instances that it certainly seems to be. The best example of this is Sophia's time in solitary, although we also see numerous other characters experience it, as well. None of them handle it very well, but then again, who would?

Question 23

How would your friends describe you?

Not all of the prison inmates get along with each other, obviously. In fact, many of them would use some pretty harsh words to describe one another. But they all also have friends within the prison, and on the outside, that would say positive things about them. Good or bad, how would your friends describe you?

Question 24

What would you do in a fight?

Prison fights are fairly common, as are fights in the real world (depending on who you hang out with). It would be best, upon entering prison, if you had an idea of what you would do if you ever found yourself in that situation. Would you do anything you could to defend yourself, would you try to get away, or would you freak out so much you would lay down and die?

Question 25

Who is more annoying?

Everyone has their pluses and their minuses, because everyone is partly good and partly bad. Alex and Piper are two main characters of the show. They are lovers, friends, exes, on-and-off dating, and have a long history together. Theirs is the definition of a love-hate relationship, and most people have a preference for one over the other. Which is yours?
