Which Member Of The Infamous WWE McMahon Family Are You?

1.8K Shares

For as long as any living person can remember, the name McMahon has been in the upper echelon of professional wrestling promoters. Well before Vincent Kennedy McMahon purchased the then WWWF from his father Vincent James, there was also his grandfather Jess McMahon, who promoted shows in Madison Square Garden before the second Vince was even born.

Nowadays, fans also have Vince’s children, Shane and Stephanie, appearing on Raw and SmackDown week in and week out, keeping the family legacy going. There’s also Linda McMahon, who’s currently a little distracted with politics, but nevertheless also made her mark on WWE history by serving as the company President for many years. While every McMahon has attained a great level of success in his or her right, they’ve also all had different business styles and personalities, which in turn has made them either extremely popular or deeply hated by the wrestling community at large.

Ultimately, the McMahon’s probably don’t care all that much how fans feel about them as individuals, so long as they continue watching WWE programming and buying the company’s merchandise. On the other hand, most normal people do care how others think about us, and since it’s a little hard to gauge that on a personal level, maybe it would help to take a famous figure you’ve got a lot in common with and take a guess based on their example. There’s no better place for wrestling fans to start than with the McMahon family, so take our quiz and find out whether you’re Vince, Shane, or Steph.

Question 1

Which of the following wrestlers is your favorite?

Quite frankly, the McMahon’s should be thanking every single wrestler who works for them each and every day for the sacrifices they put on their minds, bodies, and souls to increase Vince’s bank account. And in fairness to them, they usually do, albeit not on as grand a scale as they perhaps should. Each McMahon has indeed levied high praise on select members of their staff, though they also tend to give a little extra shine to their favorites. Who would you constantly praise and push to the moon?

Question 2

Would you ever get into the ring yourself?

Ironically, though the McMahon dynasty has done more for wrestling than any other single family, in the grand scheme of things, they really don’t spend all that much time inside wrestling rings. Sure, most of them have wrestled a match or two, but considering the sheer amount of control they have over the business, one might expect them to have locked it up on a regular basis. Would you continue the family trend of staying out of the ring, or would you try and wrestle full time?

Question 3

What’s your favorite era of WWE?

Considering how long the McMahon family has reigned supreme over the WWE Universe and wrestling in general, it should go without saying the business has changed a whole lot since they took over. Of course, many of those changes were the direct result of Vince and his family deciding things needed to be different. If you were in charge of the show and could emulate any era of WWE history, which would it be?

Question 4

Would the wrestlers respect you?

Let’s face it—no matter how powerful a given CEO is over any industry, there will always be people beneath them thinking they don’t deserve it. This has been case with just about every member of the McMahon family, albeit in varying degrees. Most wrestlers are forced to respect Vince, and by proxy Linda, yet they don’t necessarily have to, either. Could you command an employee’s admiration, or would they hate your guts?

Question 5

What would your finishing move be?

Whether or not a given McMahon steps into the ring all that often, the nature of pro wrestling means they’ll inevitably need to assert themselves in one way or another before long. Hell, even dull old Jack Tunney was once forced to jab his finger against Bad News Brown for disrespecting him, and the McMahon’s have actual power, making it more enticing for disgruntled wrestlers to give them a piece of their mind. If push came to shove, how would you take your rivals down?

Question 6

Would you ever make yourself WWE Champion?

All right, let’s be real. Regardless of what we implied with that whole stepping into the ring question, virtually every McMahon clearly harbors fantasies where they can physically dominate their entire staff. For the most part, though, they’ve kept these desires internal, despite the fact they have a giant playground at their disposal to make it come true. Would you resist the temptation, or might you actually make yourself WWE Champion just to prove how strong you are?

Question 7

Are you a politically minded person?

Outside of the actual government, it could be said that the professional wrestling is one of the most political businesses a person can enter. WWE especially is a highly politicized company, where the way a person behaves backstage is often as important to their success as anything that happens in the ring. This is largely because as the people in charge, the McMahons are also very politically minded themselves. Are you?

Question 8

Which element of business are you best at?

It could easily be argued that every member of the McMahon family is a business genius in one way or another. In addition to their great success in the wrestling industry, all four adult McMahon’s have collegiate degrees specializing in one aspect of management or another. That said, there are many different ways one can excel in business, and each McMahon has unique skills the others may not possess. Which of the following are you best at?

Question 9

Are you patriotic?

On the subject of politics and government, it might be relevant to mention the WWE Universe tends to be as American as apple pie. While the company is truly a global organization with multinational fans all around the world, WWE nonetheless acts extremely proud of the land in which it’s based. Flags fly freely at American themed events, and yearly Tributes to the Troops give back to the military for their service. This is because the McMahon’s themselves also love their country. Do you?

Question 10

What kind of music do you like?

Although most of their time is spent focusing on wrestling, believe it or not, the McMahon’s actually have other interests outside of sports entertainment. Granted, this typically only happens if those outside areas in some way relate to wrestling, like for example the music that blares through arenas when superstars make their entrance. Most people listen to music for reasons entirely unrelated to WWE, and whatever the reason, we all have our preferences in what it is we listen to. What are yours?

Question 11

Which of the following wrestlers do you hate the most?

For all the reasons the McMahons should and do thank their wrestlers on a daily basis, they also tend to run afoul of their employees quite regularly. Depending on how these wrestlers react when the bosses upset them, it can lead to long term rivalries where the talent decides to take on the authority. Understandably, the McMahon’s hate it when their wrestlers do this, at least on camera. Behind the scenes, though, they secretly love it, as McMahon based feuds always drive up the ratings.

Question 12

How do you dress?

They say the clothes make the man, and that could well be true for the McMahon, as well. Because they all obviously have a decent amount of money, they can all dress pretty much however they want, meaning their clothing choices really do say a whole lot about their personalities. Granted, most of them rock suits as often as possible, but even with this limitation there’s a lot they can do to express themselves. What image do you try to present?

Question 13

Would you try to make the fans happy?

Theoretically, while the McMahon’s are technically in control of WWE, they also need to listen to their fans once in a while lest the empire slowly crumble. In practice, however, it seems like they can do pretty much whatever they want and though fans might complain, they’ll never really leave. With this in mind, would you try and give the audience what it wants, or would you run WWE entirely based on your own interests?

Question 14

Are you a heel or babyface?

In professional wrestling, it’s impossible for a person to make a single appearance without fans developing strong feelings on them in one way or another. One might try to argue that they sometimes don’t care, yet apathy is indeed an opinion, albeit it one all wrestlers should avoid. Luckily, the McMahons usually evoke stronger emotions than that. How would they feel about you?

Question 15

Are you a risk taker?

From a business perspective, Vince McMahon has taken more risks than almost anyone else alive. Few other men or women have dared take what everyone else viewed as a niche industry and turn it into an international empire, let alone try to do so. His son Shane is also a daredevil personified, jumping off cages and platforms even the wrestlers would be terrified to stand on. Are you like them, or do you stay safe like Linda?

Question 16

What’s your favorite genre of film?

In many respects, the WWE Universe has taken from just about every single genre of film to create its own form of sports entertainment. There’s comedy, drama, romance, and a whole lot of action, plus everything in between, all building to the emotionally driven storylines that cause wrestlers to fight one another. The McMahon’s and their writers obviously need to take in film, TV, and other media in order to properly mimic it. What kind do you like watching the most?

Question 17

Are you a romantic person?

In addition to his incredible success in the wrestling industry, it could be said that Vince McMahon is a bit of a ladies man. Well, in his own mind anyway, and thus by extension in his own company, where he’s capable of instructing female employees to make out with him on television. Thankfully, this trend hasn’t entirely ran in the family, as the other McMahons have generally felt less inclined to lock lips with employees. Would you resist the temptation?

Question 18

How would your employees describe you?

Fans of the WWE Universe have come up with some pretty colorful and creative names to spew at Vince McMahon and his family over the years. A certain A-word seemed to get bandied about the most during the Attitude Era in reference to both Vince and Shane, and Stephanie was branded with a more misogynistic S-word once she started her dalliance with Triple H. Behind the scenes, though, their employees are forced to use nicer words to describe them. Which of these phrases would they use for you?

Question 19

Where would you go for a vacation?

Most of the time, the McMahon’s are so focused on work they never give themselves any time to relax. Everyone knows professional wrestlers already have some of the most demanding schedules around, and the business executives have it even worse, needing to get places early in order to plan for their employees arrival. That said, if you were lucky enough to get away for just a moment, where would you travel?

Question 20

Are you social media savvy?

Nowadays, one of the greatest complaints lobbied against WWE is that the announcers, and company in general, puts way to much focus on their wrestlers social media. Rarely does the show go more than ten minutes without Michael Cole or Corey Graves spouting off about what’s trending on Twitter, and depending on which generation you come from, this might give the product a modern appeal, or simply feel wholly irrelevant. Are you in tune enough with social media to appreciate this trend?

Question 21

How do you feel about competition?

At this point, WWE essentially holds a monopoly over the sports entertainment business in America. Yes, there are a few other companies out there with moderate success, including TNA/GFW/etc., Ring of Honor, and a few other, smaller organizations. That said, there’s really no competition to the McMahon family’s place on top, and this is largely by their own doing. Whenever someone came along and tried, he did everything he could to destroy them, i.e. WCW. Would you do the same, or do you like the idea of a friendly rival?

Question 22

Are you violent or aggressive?

A major misconception about the wrestling industry is that everyone involved in it is some sort of violent maniac. While this is generally true in the ring, at least for those who have achieved any modicum of success, when the cameras stop rolling, most wrestlers reveal themselves to be gentle giants. Likewise, the McMahon family are nowhere near as irascible as they come off on TV, but this doesn’t mean they’re total pushovers, either. Are you?

Question 23

What's your management style?

Outside of thanking their wrestlers for putting their lives on the line in the ring, the McMahon family are constantly interacting with their talent for various business reasons. While they’re definitely indebted to any wrestler who performs a job well done, sometimes the wrestlers make mistakes that could harm the entire company, and need to be punished for it. When push came to shove, would you have control over your wrestlers, or would they run the show?

Question 24

Have you ever played a WWE video game?

In most quizzes, we would simply be asking whether or not you’re a fan of video games in general, but this is the McMahon family we’re talking about here. If Vince or his relatives are going to play a game, it’s going to be one that has something to do with wrestling, and it’s not like they’d support anything they didn’t themselves create. That in mind, are you good at WWE games?

Question 25

Which non-WWE organization meant more to the industry?

Ultimately, the biggest prize in the sports entertainment industry is the WWE Championship, and it’s been that way since it was established in 1963. That said, the WWE title isn’t the only chunk of gold wrestlers have pined over throughout the years. The McMahon’s don’t like to admit it, but they’re hardly the only game in town, and the influence of several other wrestling promotions can be seen on almost every minute of WWE programming. What other wrestling company do you think was most important to history?
