The world's greatest heroes are all on the roster of the Justice League of America.
The team, made up of DC Comics' most popular characters, first appeared together in a 1960 issue of the comic series The Brave of the Bold. The seven founding members were Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, The Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern, and Martian Manhunter. The team later expanded to include other well-known DC characters like Green Arrow, Black Canary, Dr. Fate, Zatanna, Shazam, The Atom, and Cyborg.
The superhero team has stared in several animated shows and movies, including the acclaimed Cartoon Network shows Justice League and Justice League: Unlimited of the early 2000s. They will appear in their first live action movie as a team in late 2017. The film is directed by Zack Snyder, written by Joss Whedon and Chris Terrio, and features Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavil, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, and Amy Adams.
In the upcoming flick, the Justice League is compromised of Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg. Superman seemingly died at the end of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Batman and Wonder Woman are inspired by his sacrifice to create the team of heroes. The Man of Steel is expected to return in the film.
