Which Hogwarts House Do You Belong In?

Knowledge of the Harry Potter series ubiquitous; everyone knows the four Hogwarts houses of Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. One of the major reasons this fantasy world is so popular is so many people could relate to J.K. Rowling's characters. The plot parallels so well with our some of our own life experiences because though Harry, Ron, and Hermione are living in a fantastical world they go through much of the same trauma and loss everyday people experience. Throughout the seven books she also made a concerted effort to include dynamic and multinational characters even if her original protagonists were white Brits. Fringe personalities of Dean Thomas and the Patil sisters help the series come to life-- we live in a multicultural world and this diversity should be reflected in fiction.

Given how many of us identify with Rowling's heros, it is only natural we would wonder what house we would be sorted into had we received wizarding letters from Hogwarts at the ripe age of eleven. Many of us have grown up beside Harry, albeit in the muggle world.

In the following quiz your high school persona will determine which Hogwarts house you belong to. Answer honestly and enjoy!

Question 1

You're told specifically not to go somewhere, what do you do?

Actions of some of J.K. Rowling's characters are sometimes predictable because they match the stereotypes of their house. After all, the sorting hat would not have placed them somewhere if it wasn't the right "fit". Part of it had to do with their moral disposition.

Question 2

If a friend wanted to copy your homework what did you say?

This has happened to all of us before, either being asked to cover for someone or running out of time to do our own assignments. Are you, ultimately, a team player? Or are you just trying to get others in trouble? Maybe you're only out for yourself and don't care either way.
