While it has had its ups and downs, Disney is the king of the animation industry (in terms of movies). It's faltered, but with recent successes like Moana and Zootopia, it seems like this juggernaut will never go out of style. It's all thanks to the refined quality they inject into their films.

Part of what makes their movies so great is how smartly written they are. Not only does this make for fun moments, but dialogue that is quotable and memorable. Everyone remembers a line or quote from a Disney film that they use once in a while (most of us do!).

That being said,with so many fantastic Disney films and classic lines, remembering them is difficult, especially when you have to match it with the character who said it. That's where we introduce to you to our latest Disney challenge.

Question 1

Who said, "Sand- it's everywhere. Get used to it"?

The movie in question had a lot of rapid fire jokes, and this was one of its best. Featuring a character who was spoofing a massive news broadcast, he ended his presentation by saying the entire thing was sponsored by "Sand- it's everywhere. Get used to it." That entire sequence went on to become one of the most famous parts of the movie, and make the related character one of Disney's best. It's hard to go wrong with his voice too.

Question 2

Who said, "You don't have time to be timid"?

The character responsible for this quote has a full understanding of what it means to live your life to the fullest. Speaking to the mild-mannered protagonist, he encourages them to set out and do the things they want to. Taking risks will get you places in life. One of the greatest lines he says to her is, "You don't have time to be timid. You must be bold and daring." This line alone sets the tone for the rest of the movie.

Question 3

Who said, "Do me a favor and grab my butt"?

If you thought that Disney was above this kind of lowbrow humor, you'd be dead wrong. The character who said this quote, in fact, was the source of many jokes in his film of origin. After a trial occurred, he was physically impaired to the point where it required someone literally "grab his butt" to help him out. Clearly, all of the little kids in the audience were laughing and having a good time, but the parents probably just shook their heads.

Who said, "Man is forbidden"?

Deep in the jungle, there exists a rule about mankind: due to how they've destroyed the wildlife in the past, they are no longer allowed in. However, one boy was orphaned and left in the heart of the jungle, so he was raised by the wolves and a panther. When he was finally old enough to meet by the watering hole, one character saw him and threw a temper tantrum, stating the ancient law that has permeated their culture from day one.

The character who trademarked these two words was about as arrogant as arrogant can be. He was spoiled and always fought for what he wanted (that is, if it wasn't handed to him first). He was unsympathetic and made a dramatic statement anytime he entered a room. Often, he would shove doors open, bursting on the scene with the phrase, "Boom baby!" It's classic, memorable, and always reminds us of a clear image of the character who said those words.

The character that said this was about as cocky as a person could get. Knowing how to make his way in the world, not only did he take advantage of the kindness of other people, but knew how to swindle them out of their resources. His bravado and irrevocable charm led to classic pieces of dialogue like this one. When talking to the protagonist about some of his actions, he would often use the phrase, "It's called a hussle, sweetheart."

Disney has an ever-present theme of love through its movies. For as long as most of us can remember, there has been a dissonance between men and women. In pop culture, each side was constantly poking fun at the other, pointing out their flaws as well as their behaviors. One film saw a character lamenting about how "girls talk too much." Whether you agree with that or not (or are offended by that), it fits within the context of the movie and remained a relevant piece of dialogue as well.

A tale about a father and son is all you need to get the heart strings going. However, there is a more comedic character who tags along for the journey to give our protagonist someone to play off of as well as provide some laughs for the audience. Consistently, the father tells them who they're looking for, but this supporting character seems to forget every time, even going so far as to tell people the wrong name on multiple occasions.

The character who said this quote had a lot of life lessons to learn. After finding himself in a strange town, he was tasked with setting things right after he destroyed it. However, because he was so intent on getting to his destination that he did a shoddy job at fixing it. When confronted about his work, he simply stated, "It matches the rest of the town." From that point on, the citizens weren't happy with how he carried himself.

Who said, "You know I am a righteous man"?

When a religious person takes their beliefs to horrible extremes and still believes their doing the right thing, you have every reason to be scared (see Castlevania to know what I'm talking about). In this Disney film, one character has taken many heinous actions against the people of his town, yet the entire time, believes that it's an act of God and he is performing His will. The part that gets us is the fact that we know otherwise and despise him.

Question 13

Who said, "Yeah, the only girl who would love him is his mother"?

Some of the greatest Disney lines are also well-timed jokes. In one movie, a character begins to lament of how he has a girl back home unlike any other. Funnily enough, one of the supporting characters leans into the protagonist and says, "Yeah, the only girl who would love him is his mother." The joke here is that the man singing about his lover is a pampered and annoying member of the organization. Literally no one likes him in the movie.

Question 14

Who said, "Asante sana squash banana"?

There are many characters who like to leave impressions yet defy expectations. The character who said this quote was known to be fairly wise, but after introducing himself to the protagonist, says all kinds of gibberish that not even the audience can decipher. When getting closer, all we can hear is him singing the phrase "Asante sana squash banana." Whatever the world that means, it was more than enough to deter the protagonist from getting any close to the strange character.

Who said, "They call me Mr. Pig"?

Apparently, you don't get on the bad side of this character. While he was face to face with the enemy, they called him a mere "pig." However, that set off the character who asked them "Are you talking to me?" before saying, "They call me Mr. Pig!" After that, he charged right at them, and scared them witless. They simply left the battle whining and crying in terror. Then, our "Mr. Pig" freed his friends to help out in the fight.

Question 16

Who said, "Take her to the moon for me"?

This was the last line of dialogue from this character. In the film, the protagonist is working with this newer character to get out of a sticky situation. However, circumstances get in the way and only the protagonist can escape. Accepting his fate, the character instructs the protagonist to "take her to the moon," referring to a mutual friend of theirs. After that, he fades away, never to be seen or heard from again. There was not a dry eye in the audience.

Question 17

Who said, "Anyone can cook"?

Make no mistake- this isn't just some throwaway line that only occurs once in the film. This is the entire point of the movie in question. It's all about people aspiring for greatness and not letting their limitations get in the way of pursuing their dreams. This line was actually said near the beginning of the film and was reiterated throughout by other characters. It fed into the protagonist's drive and helped us root for him to succeed in everything he did.

This is one of the more humorous lines that occurred in the movie in question. When a supporting character was gushing about one of the men, another character popped in and tried to dissuade them from thinking that way. He even resorted to saying "He's a guy" as one of his arguments as to why she shouldn't think of him that way. Nonetheless, as with most Disney movies, the girl and guy wound up getting together anyway and lived happily ever after.

This movie involves a character traveling to a strange world that they've never known before. It's there that they meet all sorts of interesting people. Regardless of whether we agree with their motivations or not, we have to nod our heads to this villainous quote. The main antagonist of this movie was a leader himself, therefore understanding what makes a true leader and how they operate amongst their subject. Anytime he injected his ideals, we all hesitated in silence to hear what he had to say. After all, he was no good person and had no problems taking out whomever he needed to in order to keep his position.

Question 21

Who said, "They just can't get my nose right"?

Many Disney films will have running jokes that will permeate throughout its runtime. One, in particular, focused on a thief who encountered many wanted posters of himself. Every time he picked one up, he lamented how they could never get his nose right. Each time another wanted poster was shown, the portrayal simply got worse and worse, to the point where it was beyond ridiculous. Even though it occurred over and over, it remained one of the best jokes in the film.

Flirting is an art, and very few people have mastered it so beautifully. Then, there's this character who seems to make it look easy. After helping to save the day, she walks up to her love interest and states how he needed to be more flexible. Clearly, this caught the guy's attention, as he nearly slipped up on his words. While the sexual connotation was definitely felt, it was still a scene that helped to build their connection and character.

Who said, "Someone has to help"?

The selfless actions of heroic movie characters often lead to horrible tragedies. In this film, disaster struck when a building caught on fire. It's then that when everyone was standing around, one character took the initiative to go in, as one of their friends was trapped inside. Saying, "Someone has to help," they ran into the inferno and never made it out, feeding into an entire character arc for the protagonist of the film. Dealing with grief is never an easy thing.

Question 24

Who said, "I'm shooting for my own hand"?

This young hot-headed character didn't like the societal rules of living only in a manner that she was told. This eventually led to a shooting competition where the winner was promised her hand in marriage. Frustrated with this, she entered in at the last second and stated that she would be shooting for her own hand. Not only did she win, but she royally ticked off everyone in the vicinity, including her mother and the suitors that were fighting for her.

When things started to look up for the protagonist, there was a reversal of fortune that saw him and his friend be banished from their home. While they were scouring the wilderness, they ran into a local who also fell under the same fate. He took them in and tried to sympathize with them, saying, "It's not easy being banished." He then told a story of one of his friends in the past who was banished and practically went insane.

Question 26

Who said, "Always let conscience be your guide"?

The character who said this line acted as a moral compass and guide for the protagonist of the film. If anyone in the audience was confused on this, he literally spells it out by saying, "Always let conscience be your guide." As you can imagine, the protagonist doesn't yield to this advice at first and has to go on a journey of trials and self-discovery in order to learn that he screwed up and should've listened to the individual who acted as his conscience.

Who said, "Are you sure this water is sanitary?"

In this Disney film, one of the supporting characters is introduced in a lake with other members of his family. However, he hesitates to go in at first because he worries that it has some sort of bacteria in it. However, his cohorts reassure him that it's safe and there are no piranhas or bacteria in the water. This sort of hesitant mindset would go on to define this character for the remainder of the film, making it satisfying when he finally took charge.

Who said, "Dishonor on your cow"?

China is a land full of history and honor. People in that country place great emphasis on not bringing shame to their family or ancestors. Because of this, people attempt to be the best they can in order to bring honor to their relatives. That's why one of the supporting characters of Mulan, when agitated, went through a list of things he dishonored, ending with the phrase, "Dishonor on your cow." Needless to say, it was one of the best lines in the entire film.

Who said, "I am be-awesome."

All too often we are introduced to a Disney character who has a chip on his shoulder and thinks highly of themselves. This character was brave and had no fear of danger as a result. He went on a long adventure with new friends and often stated how cool he was. It even got to the point where he was singing about how he was "beyond awesome." Instead of leaving it at that, he combined the two words to create "be-awesome."

This is not only a quote that remained relevant throughout the film in question but is also relevant in our lives. In order to attain what you want in life, you must be willing to work for it- and that was something that one character understood. In their movie, they stated outright, "The only way to get what you want in this world is through hard work" and lived out that motto. They fought and sacrificed many things in order to keep themselves afloat.

Question 31

Who said, "You're talking through the wrong end of the phone again"?

Sometimes a Disney film doesn't have to hold complicated plot lines or twists. Sometimes a great story is a contained one that has a lot of heart and meaning. This often leads to characters getting into minor antics with each other and making some mistakes that communicate to the audience who they are. For example, two characters were trying to speak on the phone, and one of them wasn't going through properly. It's then that the one on the other end stated that he was talking through the wrong end again.

Building rapport is something that few films do naturally, but this one hit the nail on the head. As we are introduced to two of the big supporting characters, we get a bit of dialogue between them. One character introduces the other and gives off a laundry list of praiseworthy adjectives about him. He seems humbled by her praise, but she simply says "Oh shut up. You know I don't mean a word of it" with a playful look in her eyes.

When two differing characters are placed in the same room and forced to work together, it always leads to some hilarious results. While they were recuperating after an attack, they were arguing about where to go next. In frustration, one of the characters picked up a rock and threw it at the other. When the victim quickly turned around (quite angrily, at that), the character simply looked from side to side, pretending to not know, and said, "Someone's throwing stuff."

Who said, "Alms, alms for the poor"?

In the town of Nottingham, the interim king at the time was taxing the lives out of the citizens. They were left with next to nothing and could barely make it through the day. One townsperson would even walk around with blind glasses, begging "alms, alms for the poor." However, instead of using that money for himself, he would give it away to people he felt needed it more than him. The entire town loved and cherished him as a result.

Who said, "If you wear a dress and have an animal sidekick, you're a princess"?

Disney built many of their films over the same conventions for decades. They decided, after a while, that it was time to start subverting those trends as well as poking fun at them. One film saw the main character going on an adventure with a tough yet lovable fighter. When calling her a princess, she denied it, to which he said, "If you wear a dress and have an animal sidekick, you're a princess". It was as if Disney themselves were winking from behind the camera.
