Were You Who You Thought You Were In High School? Take The Quiz!

Whether you absolutely loved high school, or couldn't wait to get out of there, you have to admit that those four years of your life have had a huge impact on the person you are today. After all, high school is the setting where many of us experienced our "firsts" in life, whether it be a first serious relationship, the first time we've been truly challenged by academics, or the first time we've had to start seriously thinking about our adult life.

Whether high school may be the source of some of your best memories, or some of your worst, this is largely contingent upon what kind of person you were back then. Chances are if you went on to attend and graduate college, or you've spent a number of years in the workforce, you've morphed into a significantly different person today.

While you may have tried to bury some of the more embarrassing moments deep down into your subconscious, unfortunately, you'll have to unearth them for the sake of this quiz and think about people that you quite possibly haven't seen in decades.

So let's take a look back and find out exactly what kind of person you were throughout high school!

Question 1

What was your favorite period?

We know most people didn't actually enjoy going to regular classes. And if you were one of those people, there's a good chance that you were a science or math nerd. But for the rest of us, lunch, gym, and study hall were easily the periods we looked forward to the most.

Question 2

What would you do in the hallways between periods?

Outside of lunch and study hall, your only other free time was the short window you had in between classes. If you were unlucky enough to have zero classes with your friends, this is where you undoubtedly had to pack as many social interactions in as possible, which could inevitably lead to you getting in trouble for goofing around in the hallways.

Question 3

You just flunked your latest math test, how do you feel?

Easily one of the most anxiety-inducing moments in high school is when the teacher starts handing back your tests. If you were one of those students who was always studying, you can only hope that your hard work ultimately paid off. And if you were somebody who always winged it, there was nothing more encouraging to keep being lazy than a solid B minus.

Question 4

What was your favorite thing to eat for lunch?

If you had a solid group of friends to sit with, then lunch was easily one of the best parts of the school day. But whatever your mom packed you, or whatever the lunch ladies were serving, could also drastically determine the quality of the lunch period. So what was your favorite thing to feast upon?

Question 5

What word best describes your high school self?

For this question, you have to remember back to the kind of person you were while still walking the hallways of high school. While many of the memories may be painful now, and you may have hated the person that you once were, it's time to be honest with yourself. Were you a generally good person back in the day, or a downright bully?

Question 6

Someone invites you to an underage drinking party, what do you do?

Even though in most places it's widely illegal for someone under the age of 18 (or 21) to drink alcohol, most of us will probably have our first run in with the substance in high school. There's a good chance that you ended up at a number of drinking parties. But did you take on the role of boozer or designated driver? Or did you simply steer clear altogether?

Question 7

How many boyfriends/ girlfriends did you have throughout high school?

Unless you were a super late bloomer, there's a good chance that you had your first boyfriend or girlfriend by the time you graduated high school. While many high school relationships weren't built to last, they certainly helped prepare us for dating in the adult world, often by getting all the awkwardness and anxiety out of the way.

Question 8

What was your preferred after school activity?

Is there a sweeter sound than they 8th-period bell ringing? While most of us absolutely loved when the official school day came to an end, for many of us that meant we'd still be hanging around the school for a few hours afterward to do our activity/ club of choice. But things couldn't help but seem more laid back during this part of the day, making it a welcome break from your typical classes.

Question 9

What was your favorite activity during gym?

If you went to a halfway decent school that didn't let you just wander around the football field during gym, then there's a good chance that you got to participate in numerous sports/ activities throughout your high school gym class. While you may have hated certain classes (like running the mile) there had to be at least one activity you were looking forward to.

Question 10

How many times did you get detention?

While detention and in-school suspension may have been doled out for breaking the rules, they were actually a convenient time to get caught up on your work. Plus, there was always a good chance that you'd end up there with a few of your friends. So long as it didn't become a daily thing, it wasn't always that bad.

Question 11

Your best friend just invited you to skip school with them. You choose to…

If your parents weren't buying your fake sickness, there was only one other way to avoid going to school: skipping it altogether and praying that you wouldn't get caught. In the adult world we at least have vacation days and sick days that we can use at our disposal, but back in the day, you had to be a rebel if you wanted a little freedom. So what would you have done?

Question 12

How did you carry your books around?

As we discovered in the action-comedy 21 Jump Street, there's been some evolution when it comes to the "cool" way to wear your backpack. Two-strapping it is no longer considered as nerdy as it once was, but that doesn't mean that specific people still don't try to be stylish with their book-carry accessories, or lack thereof.

Question 13

How did you get around throughout most high school?

If you managed to be one of the few students that actually got a car at the age of 16, then there was no doubt that you immediately went up a few rungs on the ladder of popularity. Without a vehicle or a reliable ride in high school, you can find yourself missing out on a number of social events by being stranded at home.

Question 14

You see a bully giving someone a wedgie, what do you do?

Peter Parker Bully

Even if you went to a relatively civilized high school, there's always going to be a few students who prey on those who are weaker than them. For your sake, hopefully you weren't the bully or the one being picked on. But that doesn't mean you don't have to deal with these situations should you see one unfold.

Question 15

How many high school dances did you attend?

Even if you were someone who looked forward to going to a high school dance, there was a good chance that the event was still a little anxiety-inducing. Getting a date, dressing up, and having to dance were not always the most fun things to actually do, which may have lead to you sitting out a few (if not all) of your high school's dances.

Question 16

Amidst your closest friends, you were always…

While you were in class or wondering the halls of high school, there's a good chance that you'd pretend to be someone else -- possibly a far more cooler and confident version of yourself. People are largely divided on whether or not they would actually want to go back to high school, with some people claiming it was the best year of their lives, while other people maintain that they were the worst. Question 18

Your most embarrassing high school moments revolve around…

Hopefully, none of you have ever reached Michael Cera levels of embarrassment, but it's a fact of life that high school is often the source of many of our most awkward moments. While navigating the opposite sex is often the source of these embarrassments, there are certainly other factors that can come into play, like sports, grades, or breaking the law.

Question 19

What kind of clothes did you wear to school?

It's sad how much more we cared about clothes throughout high school. Too often did we judge people by what they wore, which might have lead to us alienating other students simply because their family didn't have enough money to buy them new clothes every year. That being said, what you wore to school was also a good way to tell other people what kind of clique you were a part of.

Question 20

What did you do in the final days leading up to the new school year?

There's nothing worse as a teenager then summer winding down to an end. This means that your freedom will pretty much be nonexistent for the next nine months, and it was amazing just how fast the season could pass us by. So with only a week left until school, how would you find yourself cherishing the time?

Question 21

When you graduated, you felt…

You probably spent a good chunk of high school just waiting for it to be over with so you could get on with your adult life, but now that you're an adult, you probably wish you had enjoyed your childhood a bit more, and you may have been surprised to find the last day of school and graduation to be more bittersweet than you expected.

Question 22

Which people do you keep in touch with the most from high school?

While some people are happy to leave the entirety of high school life behind them, it would be pretty unusual not to keep in touch with anybody. After all, you did spend the entire first chunk of your life growing up around the same friends, family, and teachers. But the ones you actually keep in touch with may be surprising.

Question 23

What kind of music did you listen to in high school?

There's a good chance that your musical taste has evolved since you graduated, and hopefully for the better. But what were you jamming out to back in the day?

Question 24

What word/ phrase would you use to describe your principal?

Question 25

During prom, you could be found…
