We Bet You Can't Name All These Grey's Anatomy Men!

Thirteen years. That's how long Grey's Anatomy from Shonda Rhimes has gone on. The show has been about the life story of Meredith Grey from the beginning. While it primarily focused on her, the series has put a lot of effort into including a lot of other characters with their own storylines.

As Meredith has made her way through Seattle Grace (and later Grey Sloan Memorial) Hospital, she has encountered a lot of different people who have either helped or hindered her in her journey. On top of that, there are a lot of men who have walked through the doors of the hospital and into her life.

Being the type of show that it is, Grey's Anatomy spends a lot of time dealing with romantic relationships and how men tend to break the hearts of women everywhere and vice versa.

Because of this, it has to include several men who are either deadbeats, heartthrobs, or genuine sweethearts for audiences around the world to swoon over. Being on for over a decade, though, many watchers of the show have forgotten who this men are.

Who is this man?

When Grey's Anatomy began, we all feared this man. Being the chief of surgery at Seattle Grace, he was the one with the most experience and wisdom among all of the doctors. He is a stickler for the rules and has an impressive legacy in his field. On top of that, he also has personal history with Ellis Grey, the mother of Meredith. Because of this, he quickly became a father figure to the main character and still remains on the show.

Also known as "McDreamy," this was the attractive head of neurosurgery when Meredith Grey first entered Seattle Grace. Over time, he became a much more important character and went on to win over Meredith's heart several times. However, he slowly learned how to re-integrate himself into society and became an impressive trauma surgeon. He hasn't had much luck with women, though. He picks the crazy ones.

The medical profession attracts people of many different personalities. This man was one of the most grating interns when he started his career at Seattle Grace. However, it slowly became clear to the other doctors that he had a rough past and was getting over his disappointments in life by being an insufferable jerk. It's taken a long time, but he managed to become one of the most sensitive people in the entire show. He also happens to be one of Meredith's best friends.

To add an interesting twist to the mix, he was one of the few people who appeared in the first few seasons and didn't die. He left the show to pursue other endeavors. Despite he and Derek going head to head for a while, the two made up and became great friends again. He was originally an EMT before he decided to become a surgeon, but he wanted some more formal training. Unfortunately, his stay at the hospital wouldn't always be smooth sailing. After being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Alex Karev thought that he was trying to sleep with his girlfriend.

This man was known for being riddled with a disease. After needing a heart transplant, a member of the hospital staff felt so bad for him that she altered his machines so that he would qualify for it. After being seemingly saved, he fell in love with this doctor and asked her to marry him. While she scoffed at the idea at first, she eventually said yes. However, their love story ended with him dying at the hospital and her crying in his lap.

Arizona Robbins is the famed pediatric surgeon at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. However, she had to take temporary leave when she was given a grant to conduct a program in Africa. Her replacement was this man. He didn't exactly get along with the other staff at the hospital. He was presented with a difficult surgery case during his first few days, to which Alex Karev solved. However, this man took all the credit for the procedure and was immediately disdained.

Working in a different hospital for many years, things became different for this surgeon when he was transferred to Seattle Grace. While there, it was revealed that he had the same last name as one of the most legendary surgeons in the field. As it turns out, he happened to be related to that man. Needless to say, he seemed to inherit the family trade, as he was an extremely good plastics surgeon. He wasn't that successful with relationships, though.

There are a lot of interns who walk in the hospital and don't know where they want to end up. That was true for this doctor. When coming in to the hospital, he had a knack for neurosurgery and shadowed Dr. Shepherd a lot. However, he spent time with Kepner and Yang before eventually deciding that he liked Yang the best. Once she left to work at another hospital, he went with her and wanted to continue to study under her.

Several season into Grey's Anatomy, and Seattle Grace had to merge with another hospital. This meant that a group of doctors was coming into the picture. Among them was this guy. After forming an initial good relationship with one of Seattle Grace's doctors, he was later revealed to be a massive jerk. However, he was one of the doctors who stood his ground during the active shooter interference. He confirmed to the killer that he was a doctor and was shot.

This was the first batch of interns to appear in Seattle Grace after Meredith became a surgical resident. He was a bit of an awkward character, but he found his footing eventually. He was particularly involved with a fellow intern who was already in a relationship. After there was a painful love triangle, he married the girl, who was pregnant with his children. When we first meet Meredith Grey, she is taking care of her mother, who was Alzheimer's. We don't learn a lot about her dad right away, but it's not long before he appears in the show. This led him to bring in this man, who was famous for inventing his own method of heart surgeries. However, things got a bit complicated when it was revealed that he was really there to rekindle a relationship he had with Cristina Yang. After he saw that she didn't want anything to do with him, he chose to leave the hospital.

There was a serious illness among a war veteran at a hospital several blocks away from Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. The higher-ups were so concerned that they brought in a team consisting of Grey Sloan's dream team. When they got there, they were met by the veteran's personal surgeon, who wasn't pleased about their arrival. After the team proved that they could get the job done, the man was impressed and decided to ask Meredith out on a date, who was widowed at the time.

This young boy was the result a love story that was several seasons in the making. After the two characters finally got together and married each other (much to the excitement of everyone in the audience), they had difficult having children. After adopting a young girl, the wife finally became pregnant and had a little boy. That said, the boy never got to know his father well, as he died prematurely, leaving him in the sole care of his mother.

This man was the father of George O'Malley. When we first meet him, he and his brothers came to George's house and brought him hunting on Thanksgiving as part of a tradition. It was clear that George was nothing like the rest of his family. Later on, his father had to return to the hospital after having some heart troubles. While he started to get better, things took a turn for the worse. George was in full panic and his family was scared.

When we first meet Miranda Bailey, she is a brutal resident known as the Nazi. However, we also learn that she has a husband at home. After the two of them have a child together, he starts to be concerned that she isn't spending enough time at the house. Once she considers doing a pediatric study, he decides that he can't handle it anymore and gives her an ultimatum. After some thought, she decides that it's not fair to have ultimatums in marriage.

Who is this man?

We don't know a lot about Alex Karev early on in the show. We know that his dad wasn't in the picture. Several seasons into the show, a strange man appeared who fits the description of Alex's dad. After the two try to repair their relationship, Alex discovers that his father is still a heroin addict and is essentially killing himself. Things don't go well from there, and Alex still managed to hold on to a piece of him that hated his father.

When this man came into the hospital, he had a strange connection with Dr. Teddy Altman. After a while, it was revealed that the two were married, to which everyone in the hospital was shocked. She later told them that the marriage was only so that he could get the care that he needed and had nothing to do with romantic love. That said, she was painfully affected when he died. She could've gotten in a lot of trouble for their marriage.

There is no question: this man loves his daughter. Once he comes to Seattle Grace to visit his daughter, they have a good relationship. After she gets married to one of the other doctors, he is overjoyed and offers them all kinds of aid along the way. However, when it was revealed that he had cheated on his daughter, he nearly beat him up. Later on, he struggled to keep a good relationship with his daughter as she changed her lifestyle.

This man was one of the most renowned surgeons in the entire Grey's Anatomy universe. Inventing several techniques that would go on to be emulated by millions of doctors around the country, he became a household name. It got to the point where there was even a prestigious award named in his honor. While hearing his name in passing, it was a powerful moment when he had to come to the hospital and meet all of the various surgeons and doctors.

Who is this boy?

This boy was born fairly early in Grey's Anatomy. Because of this, we get to see him grow up throughout the years. While he's largely a background character, he has a lot of emotional significance to the main cast members. As time goes on, he is approaching his teen years and has to deal with a lot of complex societal issues that come up during that time. The jury is still out if he'll follow in his parents footsteps, though.

He would often talk to the doctors as they came in and gave them advice about what to do with their own lives. When it was revealed that Amelia Shepherd has a serious tumor in her brain, she was desperate to survive. Because of this, she brought in another renowned doctor to help the operation. Later on, he would form a weird relationship with April Kepner as the two spoke about religion.

This young man came to the hospital several seasons into the show to visit his sibling. When people saw his personality, they noted how different he was to the sibling that they'd been working with for several years. It was later revealed that he was estranged from his sibling after he was diagnosed with schizophrenia and didn't have the ability to take care of their mother. Still, he did everything he could to better himself, despite having some sibling rivalry.

This man came to the hospital with his wife. After she was operated on, an error on the doctors' part resulted in her death. He had difficulty getting over it and sued the hospital. Once he didn't get his desired outcome, he went to the hospital with a gun in his hand and began shooting up the place. He was targeting the three people who worked on his wife and wanted to kill all of them: Richard Webber, Derek Shepherd, and Lexie Grey.
