We Asked Some Kids To Name The Original Pokémon And They Couldn't. Who Can?

The Pokémon franchise started with two role-playing games that were released for the Game Boy in Japan in the late 1990s. The games involved the player, known as a Pokémon trainer, walking around a fictional village catching the Pokémon and using them to battle non-playable characters and other Pokémon in the game. From there, the Pokémon franchise seriously took off. With even more video games, anime, manga, a card game, and various toys and other collectibles that are sold, the Pokémon franchise has become the most successful media franchise in the world. That's right, it outsells even other huge franchises like Star Wars, Hello Kitty, and the Disney Princesses.

Although there are seven generations of Pokémon games which means that there are over 800 different Pokémon, many fans can probably think back to the days when there were only 151 and the first Pokémon games had just come out and the anime was on every day after school. Those were simpler times. Whether a person is still a huge Pokémon fan and has kept up with all seven generations and 800 different Pokémon or they quit paying attention to it several hundred Pokémon ago, those 151 are still pretty nostalgic and not something many people have forgotten.

Who thinks they can remember the first 151 Pokémon? Take this quiz to find out!
