After the 10-year run of our favorite show Friends, we see Monica Geller and Chandler Bing having declared each other the love of their lives, having twins, happy together, and moving on to a new house to start a new chapter in their lives. But before Monica and Chandler were a sure endgame, Monica was dating different men (one of which she could have ended up with, if not with Chandler!), while Chandler had an on and off thing with ex-girlfriend Janice. So throughout the show Chandler would have been in between or torn between the ladies; sleeping with one, and arguing with another at some point in the series. Let us have a little bit of throwback! So Chandler and Ross and the rest were already friends around 1987, and this is where he meets this girl for the first time. She was a lot bigger than she currently is, though she makes a mean macaroni - which Chandler loved and complimented, and which inspired her career choice years after. She also had a crush on him then, but she overheard him calling her ‘fat,’ so she was brokenhearted but pushed herself to shed all the weight (which she did by the next year’s Thanksgiving)!

This relationship has got to be one of the cutest (if not the cutest, depending on your enthusiasm!) relationships on the show! It’s literally #goals and something to that extent. So undoubtedly, all our relationship supporter hearts fluttered extensively when he tells her she is ‘one of his favorite people’! He even called her one of the most beautiful women he’s ever known, which adds more sugar to the icing. This was all tackled in the episode ‘The One with the Flashback.’ Are you remembering it and having flashbacks now?

In ‘The One With The East German Laundry Detergent,’ Chandler was talking to this person, observing how easy it was for Phoebe to break up with her boyfriend, but his thought process gets interrupted when she reveals that she got him a nice pair of socks. Bullwinkle socks, in fact, because she knew he already has the Rocky pair. She suggests he could either wear ‘Bullwinkle and Bullwinkle’ or mix them up a bit! Remember Mr. Heckles? The old man who always admonishes our friends because they always seem to interrupt whatever he’s doing (like playing the oboe) because of their ruckus. Well, in the episode ‘The One Where Mr. Heckles Dies’ he… obviously dies, sadly. He also leaves his possessions to Monica and Rachel, and Chandler chances upon his diary. He learns that Mr. Heckles, just like him, has a fear of commitment and has now died alone. In a panic, he calls her after he learns of Mr. Heckle’s death?

So we already talked about how Mr. Heckles, their old neighbor who died and left his possessions to Rachel and Monica, was afraid of being attached and committed too, and ended up living and dying alone. Chandler, upon reading his journal, realizes that he is in the same state as Heckles was in the journal, and became afraid of ending up the same way. Here comes our girl to save the day - and comfort him that he won’t die alone. Was this the same girl whom he called first upon learning of Heckle’s death?

So maybe Chandler is not as lucky in love or hookups as his friend Joey, who is a certified ladies’ man; but he just wants some love and affection in his life you know? Even if he is a little bit (okay, a hell of a lot) afraid of commitment. So he goes and makes a profile on a dating website, and immediately clicks with this girl described as an unhappily married woman. Phoebe suggests they should meet and Chandler, heeding her advice, prepares for the meetup the following day. Surprise! It’s someone he actually knew. Was it Monica or Janice?

Chandler rekindled his relationship with her in season 3, and they spent a lot of time trying to integrate into the gang as a couple. When Chandler accidentally calls her fat, he asks help from Ross and Rachel too. So we all know that Chandler already knew Janice before the show started; at the same time, he also was already acquainted with Monica. The question is, which among these two girls did he have an unseen (obviously) dating history with before the start of the show Friends? He had a relationship with her beforehand but wanted to break up with her; only, every time he tried, she would burst into tears and he would have to resume their relationship because of guilt!

So New Year’s is just around the corner and it became a pact among the friends not to get dates on New Year’s. But the gang eventually find it hard to conform with their agreement, and end up breaking it along the way. In fact, it was Chandler who first broke their pact, even if he was the one who instigated the no-date New Year. At the end of the episode, things don’t go as planned, and Chandler is upset he doesn’t have a kiss that night - so Joey kisses him! But who did invite for his New Year kiss?

In ‘The One With the Candy Hearts’, Joey sets up Chandler on a blind date for Valentine’s, seeing he has one but Chandler does not. So Chandler is feeling ready to cross that scary river to commitment and realizes he is ready to propose to her. He plans a nice, romantic dinner out to her favorite restaurant. All would go well. Right? Wrong! Her ex-shows up, which is even more awkward as he is seated across the table. Also, Chandler believes his plan was ruined when they later got home still not engaged, but he thinks she already knows what he was planning. Was this a Chandler-Monica moment? Or could it have been with Janice?

While they were together, they end up getting a crazy idea to get married, but upon seeing Rachel and Ross just hitched, the two start to contemplate their readiness to really tie the knot. Realizing they can’t commit that much yet, they agree not to marry but Chandler suggests they move in together. They encounter problems like how much of Chandler’s stuff to move in or what to do with the apartment’s spare room, but they settle in comfortably in the end.

Chandler tries, he really does. He starts to get commitment issues when he senses that his relationship with her was moving steadily (and quickly forward). He ends up following Joey’s advice to face his fears, therefore giving her a drawer in his dresser just for her things. While she thinks this was sweet, he overdoes it and suggests they move in. After living together for about a year already, Chandler decides he is ready to take the next step and propose to his girlfriend. With the trusty help of Phoebe, he chooses an engagement ring that would wow her. Of course, things are never straightforward with Phoebe, as she ends up getting distracted by a lot of the jewelry in the store. Though Chandler does end up getting his ring, but his plan to propose does not go well because something unexpected happens.

Joey spots her kissing her ex, and he proceeds to tell Chandler, who doesn’t believe him at first. But later on she admits her rekindling with her ex when Chandler confronts her, and she admits actually kissing him twice. She admits she loved both men and could not choose; but after talking to Joey, Chandler makes her go with her ex. She concedes to the idea, even if she still likes Chandler, and mentions that he will always be her soul mate.

So Rachel and Chandler go out for a little bit of girl time (but he feels out of place cause he’s about the only man there). But it turns out Chandler and Rachel are not the only acquaintances there! He comes across her in the nail salon (was it Monica or Janice?) and she admits to still having feelings for him and won’t ever leave him, having left her ex. Chandler reluctantly rekindles their romance. Was this a Chandler and Janice or Monica romance?
Who proposes to Chandler?
This is just one of the most romantic scenes in the show! Believing he ruined everything by pretending too well that he didn't want to marry her, he ends up meeting her back in their place, where the room is lit with candles. She bends down on one knee and attempts to propose, but fails because she was crying too much. He gets down on his knees too and proposes to her. Of course, she says yes! Cheers to the happy couple.
Who gets a mixtape from Chandler?
In the episode ‘The One With The Unagi,’ Chandler tries to spice up Valentine's by agreeing that he and his sweetheart should prepare homemade gifts. Except that...they both forget to make each other gifts! So, in an attempt to save face, Chandler hands her a mixtape that he found somewhere in his closet. All goes well as his girlfriend showers him with love the next few days, until she hears his ex’s voice on the tape! Uh-oh, a bad way to end Valentine’s Day!
Was it Chandler-Monica or Chandler-Janice who were having sex in a private room when Ross and Rachel were having a baby?
Talk about awkward and shady when your friends are trying to give birth in the next room and you guys are getting it on in the other! Well, this is exactly what happened in ‘The One Where Rachel Has a Baby,’ when Ross and Rachel check into a hospital as she slowly goes into labor. Meanwhile, Chandler and his girl count the math and realize they could start to have a baby right away - so they try to have sex in the hospital!
Whose wedding does Joey officiate?
Joey is a lot of things. He is an actor, and he was also a model, an advertiser of men’s lipstick, and a spokesman for numerous infomercials. He also apparently can officiate weddings, which is exactly what he did for Chandler and his soon to be wife. He is apparently an ordained minister and has not only officiated Chandler’s wedding, but Mike’s and Phoebe’s as well! So which wedding do you think he officiated? Chandler and Janice’s or Chandler and Monica’s?
Was it Chandler-Monica or Chandler-Janice who start trying for children in the season 8 finale?
After numerous seasons of being together, going through life’s ups and downs together, and even living together (and marrying each other), the two finally realize that having a baby may not be such a bad idea, and that they actually want to try having children. She suggests this at the end of the 8th season, only to have Chandler respond with all seriousness, admitting that he’s ‘crazy’ about them. Who did he want to have children with - Janice or Monica?

Finally trying to settle down in his newly married couple life, Chandler goes and looks at houses that they can move into after leaving their previous apartments. They experience a bit of a rough patch this season, what with his being away in Tulsa because of his job. He stays and works even during Christmas, but ends up quitting his job and returning home to the gang (and his wife), realizing what he’s missing. They also encounter the problem of infertility, as they haven’t been able to conceive for a year. So they do some fertility tests and find out what’s wrong. Which couple went to the fertility clinic?

Chandler sometimes ends up making a situation a whole lot worse than it started. For example, in fear of getting too much into the commitment of this relationship, he ends up even driving further into it! At the suggestion of Joey, he buys her something nice, but also suggests they should meet her parents and live together. She freaks out and so leaves for a while. He eats ice cream with the girls due to the ‘emergency,’ and ask for their advice. Was this a slip up in the Chandler and Janice or the Chandler and Monica relationship?
Was it Chandler-Monica or Chandler-Janice who end up saying ‘I love you’s’ in ‘The One With the Metaphorical Tunnel’?
Set in the same episode as the previous question, as we all know, Chandler slipped up and took things the wrong way when in ‘The One With The Metaphorical Tunnel,’ he drove things too far forward in the relationship in an attempt to confront his commitment issues. The girl leaves him due to her fear, but they catch up at a superstore later, where he admits he is crazy about her. They end up saying their ‘I love you’s’ and getting back together!
Was it Chandler-Monica or Chandler-Janice who want to adopt?
While these two may be the most steady and the strongest relationship development we have seen in the Friends show, they also come across numerous problems throughout the show, like jealousy problems, commitment issues, adjusting to married life, and a long distance relationship (for a short while). They also come across the problem of infertility, but their desire to have children gets satiated when they get to adopt - and twins too! What a nice ending for the happy couple.
