Gilmore Girls officially ended on May 17, 2007. It's been more than eleven years since then and even though we fans were lucky enough to get a revival miniseries courtesy of Netflix, we still feel like that's just not enough. We mean, we don't like to complain because we're definitely grateful that we got those four extra episodes. A Year in The Life showed us where Lorelai and Rory, as well as all of their friends, are now and how everybody's getting along. Maybe it seems silly, but a little thing like that goes a long way in appeasing avid fans. But, even still, like we said before. It's not enough.
Not a day passes when our mind doesn't wander back to Stars Hollow. Not a cup of coffee gets brewed when we don't wonder what Luke is getting mad about today, and not a snow day slips by us with its wintry magic unnoticed. Even after all this time, our devoted fan hearts still resides in the fictional town of Stars Hollow, and we don't reckon that's ever going to change, which means there's only one thing to do. Eat. More specifically, visit a bakery, and in return, will reveal a Gilmore Girls twin.
Choose a fancy breakfast food
First things first. Before digging too deeply into what this hypothetical bakery has to offer, it's time to have a little tete-a-tete with the most important meal of the day. Take a quick look over the bakery menu and choose a classic, but super fancy, breakfast item to enjoy. What sounds tasty this morning?
Buy a bagel
Bagels are a donut-shaped, leavened (made with yeast) bread. After they've been allowed to rise for a few hours, they're then boiled in water to achieve their iconic chewy exterior and baked to bready perfection. Bagels are delicious plain (heck, what bread isn't, to be honest), but they're also amazing with toppings. Which bagel looks good today?
Grab a loaf of bread
Bread. Dear, sweet bread. How do we love thee? Let us count the ways! Bread goes with anything. you can make a sandwich with it, you can butter it up and have it as a side to your soup or chili, it even makes a delicious snack. There's no end to the meals a loaf of bread can improve.
Pick a muffin
Muffins are just casual cupcakes. Don't get us wrong, we're not complaining, in fact, this is great news, because it would be totally socially unacceptable to eat a cupcake for breakfast. People would take one look at you and say you have a problem. But, grab a muffin, and nobody thinks twice. So, go ahead and pick one out.
Pick a fruit pie
Pie was invented when somebody said that fruit couldn't possibly be a part of a good dessert, and then fruit got mad and set out to prove them wrong. At least, that's what *we* imagined happened. Anyway, fruit pies are delicious and there are so many kinds so it only makes sense to get one.
Snag some cookies
The Gilmore Girls love cookies (probably because they're not insane), and if Oreos, Chips! Ahoy and Keebler were to cease to exist tomorrow, Lorelai and Rory's diets would come crashing down in a heap. Prepackaged cookies are delish, of course, but nothing beats a freshly baked cookie, straight out of the oven.
Indulge in a dessert bread
You can never have too much bread, and that's not just our opinion, that's a proven scientific fact. Sort of. Well, okay, not really, but still, you're at a pretend bakery, so you may as well pretend live a little, pretend right? You've already picked out a savory loaf to take home, now it's time to pick out a sweet one.
Enjoy a cream pie
We love cream and we also love pie, so to whoever decided to stick these two things together, we would just like to say, from the very bottom of our hearts, thank you. No matter the occasion, a slice of cream pie is the perfect accompaniment. Which slice sounds the most delicious to you?
Get a cheesecake
The day you learn that cheese can be used to make a cake is the day that your life changes forever, but in the very best way. It's rich, smooth, decadent and creamy, and there's literally nothing that it can't do—except, like, change a tire or run a cash register. We just meant there's nothing it can't do in a dessert sense.
Choose the perfect cupcake
If muffins are just casual cupcakes, then cupcakes are just elegant muffins. There's nothing else that we wanted to add to that, we just thought we would point it out. Look, we know you picked out a muffin already, and we know you're loaded up with other baked goods, too, but why stop now, you know? Choose a delicious cupcake.
Pick a flatbread
Flatbreads are unleavened, meaning they're made without yeast, and because they have no yeast, they're a heck of a whole lot faster to make, since you don't have to set them aside and let them rise. Flatbreads, like any other bread, are delicious and should be consumed whenever possible. Don't leave the bakery without snagging one for yourself!
Pick some doughnuts
Ahhh, donuts! Sweet, delicious, carb-filled donuts! Who could possibly resist a deep fried letter "O" with a sugary glaze on top? Whether they're filled with cream or topped with sprinkles, we're not the least bit picky, we like 'em all! Choose out a donut to add to your growing collection of baked goods.
Choose the perfect pastry
No bakery's complete without a selection of pastries! Now, technically, the word "pastry" can be used to describe lots of baked goods, like pies, tarts and quiches, etc. But we're referring specifically to flaky, light, airy pastries made with flour, water and shortening and/or butter—which makes them similar to bread, but with a higher fat content. All that aside, which pastry sounds delicious?
Pick some biscuits
"Biscuit" is another term that can be used to describe several baked goods. In North America, the word "biscuit" refers to a bread that's made with baking powder or baking soda as a leavening agent, in place of yeast. In the U.K. on the other hand, biscuits are more like cookies, crackers or scones. Which biscuit sounds best today?
Get a soufflé
Soufflés are notoriously difficult to make. The eggs must be beaten to perfection, and the baking and timing all have to be *just* right, otherwise—oh, no!—the soufflé could fall. Fortunately, you don't have to worry about any of that stuff because you're the bakery customer, not the bakery baker. Hooray! So, which soufflé looks most tempting?
Choose some biscotti
Without coffee, Lorelai and Rory Gilmore wouldn't even know how to function. And, what's the best thing to eat with a hot, fresh cup of coffee? Why, some biscotti, of course! These hard, super crunchy biscuits are just the thing you need to dunk in your cappuccino-mocha-frappe-latte whatever, so pick some out now.
Snag some scones
Scones are the ultimate in brunch baked goods. These small goodies can be sweetened or unsweetened, but, if you ask us, they're delightful either way. In the U.K., scones are a lot like biscuits. They're made without fruit and meant to be eaten with a jam. In America, scones often don't require jam since they have fruit pieces baked into them.
Choose a seasonal dessert
The Gilmore Girls are the most skilled eaters in Stars Hollow. We're talking real pros, here. They've been known to eat one, two, even three dinners in one night during the holiday season. Hey, speaking of the holidays, why not pick out a seasonal dessert to take home with you? They all look sooooo good!
Get some bread rolls
Sometimes you don't want a slice of bread. Sometimes, what you want is a ball of bread, and that's where the bread roll comes in particularly handy. There's no meal under the sun that a bread roll can't instantly improve. A buttery, fluffy roll is like the cherry on top of any dinner.
Pick a savory pastry to enjoy
Pastries are delicious no matter what flavors they take on. Period, end of story. But, since you've already sampled plenty of sweet pastries, why not take a short break from the sugary flavors, delightful as they are, to sample something a little more savory? Better get a bundt cake, too
Bundt cakes, traditionally called Gugelhupf in Europe, are easily distinguished from other kinds of cake thanks to their distinctive ring shape. These delectable desserts aren't a whole lot different when compare to your average cake, but because of their unusual shape, they do tend to retain a lot more moisture, making them that much more irresistible!
How about some brownies?
Hmm, how to describe brownies? There are so many different kinds of these desserts, and so many different textures, ranging from cakey to fudgy, it can be hard to pin these puppies down. Brownies can be iced or plain, they can have all kinds of fillings or they can have none. There are lots of ways to do brownies; which is your fave?
One more slice of cake couldn't hurt, right?
You've already had several pieces of cake, but, hey, this is all hypothetical, right? So, it certainly won't hurt to indulge in another slice! Quiche is, like, so fancy. In America, this stuff is typically seen as a party food, but in France, where it originated, it's a part of the regular cuisine. A quiche consists of a single pastry crust, filled with eggs, cheese, milk or cream as well as a variety of fillings, like spinach, mushrooms and/or seafood.

Buns are like bread rolls—in fact, they *are* bread rolls—but they're sweeter and more dessert-y than their dinner appropriate brethren. Buns often contain bits of fruit, nuts or both, and they're usually covered in a delicious glaze, as well. Ha! As if they needed anything else to make them perfect.

Tear and shares are separate pieces of bread rolled into small balls and baked together into one, big piece of deliciousness. Once out of the oven, these puppies can be torn apart and shared, but we suspect you already figured that out considering the name. Sometimes savory, sometimes sweet, always delicious!

Custard may not be the first thing you think of when you hear the word "bakery", but this dessert can be just as delicious as pastries, breads, pies and cakes if you give it a chance. Made with milk, cream and egg yolks, this mixture can curdle easily and turn into an inedible mess, but when it's been made right? It's *perfect*.
Ooooh, the cinnamon rolls look divine!
Ranging in texture from cakey to flaky and buttery, cinnamon rolls may have two things in common—namely their cinnamon-iness and their rolliness, but you're wrong if you think these sweet breakfast treats are a one trick pony. These goodies are perfect for exploring flavor combinations. Which cinnamon roll, iced to perfection, sounds best?
Choose a fruit-filled pastry
Fruits and pastry crusts belong together—Gilmore Girls favorite Pop-Tarts are proof enough of that. Pick a sweet, fruit-filled pastry to indulge in next. Heck, it can even be filled with two fruits! Go crazy! This is your imaginary day at an imaginary bakery, so feel free to go imaginary wild.

Tarts are tiny little pastries filled with deliciousness. Assuming you have a bottomless stomach and a never-ending sense of hunger, it only makes sense to try something new—you know, now that you've already loaded up on the classic bakery goodies we've already discussed. Anyway, don't leave the bakery without sampling something internationally delicious. Which foreign delight sounds the most appetizing?
Pick a delicious trifle
Trifles. Yet another dessert that doesn't get its fair share of love. Trifles are a light, refreshing treat consisting of fruit (which is sometimes suspended in gelatin), sponge cake (which may or may not be soaked in alcohol, like rum) and whipped cream in alternating, aesthetically pleasing layers. Pretty and tasty, what more could you ask for?
Pick a little something extra to take home
Welp, we hate to say it, but it's probably about time to wrap this thing up. Even the Gilmore Girls themselves got full every once and a while, and with a basket full of baked goodies to take home, it's probably a good idea to put an end to this delicious escapade.
