Marvel Comics has been around for a long time, and in that time they have introduced some of the most memorable and well-known characters in all of comics. Many of these heroes have seen a huge upswell in popularity with the advent of The Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has drawn the public's attention to heroes that comic fans have been enjoying for 60 years. Marvel has one of the largest and most diverse casts of heroes that have ever been assembled. Marvel strove to make their characters relatable to fans. They pioneered the idea of a shared universe for their characters, and placed them into the real world, in cities like New York, Chicago, and LA. The locations these characters would interact with were real-world places that the reader could visit. Marvel heroes often faced real-life challenges like having to pay rent and losing their wallet while fighting crime. This helped fans identify with beings who could lift cars and dodge bullets.
