This Super Hard Pixar Quiz Has Even The Biggest Fans Scratching Their Heads

Since Toy Story first premiered in 1995, Pixar has been producing some truly great animated films. These movies create brilliantly bright and colorful worlds with distinct personalities and stories. Each one has a lesson at its core, but rather than just resorting to some of the same old tropes that most kids movies do, Pixar films try to uncover deep truths that can apply to both kids and adults equally. The characters in these films are frequently funny, but they are also empathetic and easy to relate to.

After all, how many people have ever felt like they were being replaced by someone who was new and more exciting? How many parents have worried about their children and all of the possible things that could go wrong for them? How many kids (and adults) have wondered why we feel the way we feel about different things? Or how memories that were once happy can become sad? Pixar is not afraid to jump right into this kind of complicated subject matter and explore themes and stories that might not be featured in other animated films.

That is not to say that Pixar films also can't be a lot of fun.  Often they are packed with humor, heart, and lovable characters. There are plenty of fans out there who love each and every film in the Pixar canon (even Monsters University). Those people might even have trouble with this Pixar quiz, which would leave even the biggest Pixar fans scratching their heads!

Question 1

What is the name of the kid whose toys go on an adventure in Toy Story?

The entire world of Pixar began with one movie: Toy Story. Back in 1995, this film was groundbreaking. It was the first feature-length animated film to be done entirely on computers. It was more than just a gimmick, though. Toy Story told a touching tale of an old toy who is afraid of being replaced. This happens after the kid who owns the toys gets a brand new Buzz Lightyear for his birthday. Suddenly, his old cowboy doll isn’t looking so great anymore. Over the course of the film, the two toys become friends. What is the name of the kid who owns these toys?

Question 2

What is the name of the sprawling restaurant where Woody and Buzz get lost?

At one point in Toy Story, Woody and Buzz become lost at a gas station and have to find their way back to Andy, who is on his way to a big, fun restaurant with his mom. Woody and Buzz know where he is going, so they hop a ride in a delivery truck that happens to be heading back there. Once they arrive at the restaurant, they are surprised to see how just how futuristic and amazing it really is. On their way back to Andy, Buzz gets sidetracked, and he and Buzz unfortunately wind up in a claw machine with a bunch of rubber aliens.

Question 3

What is the name of the neighbor kid who builds mutant toys and blows them up?

Woody and Buzz are lifted out of the claw machine, but unfortunately, it is not by Andy. They are instead found by the kid who lives next door to Andy, one who the toys had previously warned Buzz about. This kid is not nice to toys, and rather than playing with them the traditional way, he prefers to do things like set them on fire, blow them up, or use a toolbox to turn regular toys into mutant toys. This kid is bad news, and after he takes Woody and Buzz home, they know it is only a matter of time before he does something to them.

Question 4

Where do the "warrior bugs" actually come from in A Bug's Life?

A Bug’s Life was the second feature film to be produced by Pixar, and rather than being about the lives of toys, it is about the lives of ants living in a colony. These ants work hard in order to gather enough food for themselves and for the grasshoppers who keep taking food away from them every year. When all of the food is lost by Flik, he says he will head to the city and find a group of warrior bugs to protect them. However, the group that he finds are not warriors at all. They take the job because they think he is talking about something else.

Question 5

What is the name of the main antagonist in A Bug's Life?

The biggest problem the colony of ants faces is providing enough food for themselves as well as all of the grasshoppers who keep the ants under control. The grasshoppers are led by one incredibly overzealous grasshopper, who believes that the natural order of things is that ants are meant to serve them. He enforces this natural order with an iron fist, and will never stop treating the ants poorly. It is his anger and unreasonable demands that force the ants to realize that he needs to be stopped entirely. In the end, he is taken down by the one thing that he is most afraid of.

Question 6

What do the ants build in order to scare the bad guys away?

The ants are running low on resources to give to the grasshoppers, and they realize, with the help of Flik’s inventive thinking, that they need to do something drastic in order to stop the grasshoppers once and for all. After the warrior bugs reveal that they are not warriors at all, the ants must come up with a new plan. Since they do not have enough food for what Hopper asked for, they devise a plan to build something that will scare the grasshoppers away for good. The plan almost works, but things just start to go wrong right at the very end.

Question 7

What is the name of the cowgirl Woody meets in Toy Story 2?

Toy Story 2 continued the tale of Andy’s toys, and found Woody once again being in the spotlight. After saving another toy from a garage sale, Woody is picked up and stolen by a man who wants to sell him to a toy museum in Japan. It turns out that Woody is based on a once popular TV show called “Woody’s Roundup,” which also featured other characters like Stinky Pete the prospector and Bullseye the horse. The show also featured this energetic cowgirl, who was overjoyed when she discovered that Woody had finally arrived so they could all be together.

Question 8

What store do the toys head to in order to find Woody?

After Woody is taken away from the garage sale, the other toys have to figure out where he is. Luckily, Buzz sees that the license plate of the car Woody is driven away in has a vanity license plate. A feather also comes out of the trunk as the man drives away, giving Buzz another clue. The toys put the clues together and discover that Woody was taken to a local toy store, one for which they had seen the commercial multiple times. The toys head out on a huge journey to find Woody, and they start by exploring the aisles of the store itself.

Question 9

Which villain mentioned by Buzz Lightyear do the toys finally encounter?

Ever since his first appearance in Toy Story, Buzz Lightyear has been talking about the villain he faces most often, the one who constantly works against the galactic alliance. Well, in Toy Story 2, that character finally made his big screen debut, and he was bent on getting Buzz Lightyear out of his way once and for all. This enemy fires balls out of an arm cannon and has a long flowing cape. During a fight on top of an elevator, this character also reveals that he is Buzz Lightyear’s father while he is facing off against another Buzz Lightyear who is unaware that he is a toy.
