Vampires have been around in folklore for centuries, but they haven't really taken off in the public zeitgeist until the late 19th century with the release of the novel Dracula. Ever since then, people no longer see vampires as scary monsters, but more like alluring, romantic creatures. Ever since film has been a thing, we have been making vampire movies.
