There's No Way You Can Name All These 80s Movies From Just A Screenshot, But You Can Try!

More so than any other decade, the eighties is looked at as it's own genre when it comes to movies. Do you ever hear someone talking about The Wizard Of Oz and start referencing their favorite movies from the 30s? How about their favorite 60s movies, like 2001: A Space Odyssey? Everyone loves to continue their conversations about The Departed with their other favorite “Aughts” movies, don't they?

But how is this decade different from all others? Every decade has their distinct looks and feels - why all the love for the Eighties? Because they were awesome that's why! It was an era where there was an overabundance of creative but there was nowhere near the level of technology there is today to fully realize the creative visions or directors and writers.

The eighties is sometimes referred to as the Decade of Decadence. Everything was just so…big. Big hair, big guns, big men with big muscles who walk through hellfire and brimstone to rescue damsels in distress, with big um…well, you know. One such kid decided to feign illness in order to have his day. They wind up eating at swanky restaurants, going to Cubs game, and even getting caught at a parade, where the group’s fearless leader decides to get aboard and sing “Twist And Shout.”

It's two tropes in one as the group of kids who live there go on an adventure to save the town, otherwise it's getting demolished. So they venture underground to look for the long lost treasure of One-Eyed Willie. But they also have to contend with a family of crooks who want the treasure for themselves and aren't above murdering a bunch of kids to get it.

Then a giant killer robot from the future who looks like an Austrian body-builder tries to killer. She's saved by a soldier from the future who serves the resistance leader, John Connor, Sarah’s still not-born yet in this time. Kyle teaches her to fight, teaches her about the future, they fall in love, destroy the robot, and Sarah gets preggers with John in the process, it's enough to drive a woman insane (but that's for the sequel).

The young hero goes to train with a muppet while his friends head to a nearby planet to fix their ship. But they're found and tortured by the Empire, leaving our hero with no choice but to abandon his training and confront his darkest fears.

Popular girl Veronica Sawyer desperately wants out of the cool girl clique she's a part of and hang out with her nerdy friends again. She sees rebel J.D. pull a gun on two jocks, scaring the you-know-what out of them. Even though the gun was filled with blanks, Veronica is fascinated with JD and the two start dating. The pair then murder one of the Veronica’s old friends and stage it as a suicide. Veronica just wanted out of the clique, not date a teenage murderer.
