There's No Way You Can Match The MCU Movie To The Scene

As hard is it is to believe, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is ten years old this year! To celebrate, the comic book publisher is releasing Avengers: Infinity War, a movie that looks to be the culmination of everything the MCU has been building up for the last decade. Reviews are fairly positive, and critics and fans alike are saying the Infinity War lives up to all the hype that has surrounded it since it was announced in 2014.

The MCU is one of those rare cases in which, despite the series spanning almost twenty movies long, there has yet to be a truly "bad" entry. Sure, some are more popular or critically-praised than others, but there has never been a truly awful MCU film. This means that every new entry seems to shatter fans' expectations and give us a handful of awesome new one-liners, characters, and action scenes.

Question 1

Shakespeare in the Park

This scene is often considered to be one of the best in the entire MCU! It occurs when Thor, fed up with Iron Man's way of doing things, takes matters into his own hands. This leads to Tony Stark donning his suit of armor and going one-on-one against the God of Thunder. Thor tells Tony that he has no idea what is going on, to which Iron Man snarkily replies- "Shakespeare in the Park? Does mother knoweth that you weareth her drapes?"

The Airport Fight

Though Infinity War might be the culmination of everything so far in the MCU, this scene was easily the biggest in the Marvel Universe to date. As Cap is trying to escape with his friend, Bucky, he runs into Iron Man and his team (who want to capture the Winter Soldier). They try to talk it out, but the two teams of Avengers eventually come to blows in one of the best fight scenes of the entire series. What movie did it happen in?

I am Iron Man.

Who doesn't love Tony Stark? Portrayed by the legendary Robert Downey Jr., the character is generally mentioned as a favorite whenever people are asked the question. This scene is the epitome of Tony Stark's character. He gathers the press in order to talk about the "incident" involving Iron Man at one of his facilities. Rhodey and Pepper tell Tony to tell everyone that the superhero is his body guard. However, in true Stark fashion, he throws the script away and proclaims- "I am Iron Man."

The Death of Agent Coulson

Agent Coulson was a fan-favorite minor character who appeared throughout the first phase of MCU films. He was a higher-up agent at S.H.I.E.L.D. under Director Fury, and an integral part of assembling the Avengers in the first place. However, in a shocking turn of events, he was killed off by one of the MCU's major villains. Though he was resurrected in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show, Coulson has yet to appear on the big screen since he perished in this film-

When you're a group of rag-tag space pirates, chances are you're going to end up in prison once or twice. This was the case for the Guardians of the Galaxy, who were captured by the Nova Corps and placed in prison for various crimes they had committed across the galaxy. Of course, being a team, the Guardians were able to come up with an elaborate plan to escape their captivity. It didn't go exactly the way they planned, but in the end the heroes were able to break out.

T'Challa Reveals Wakanda to the World

Though it is still not out of theaters as of this quiz's publication, Black Panther has become the most successful superhero origin story of all time! The film shattered box office records thanks to a diverse cast full of charismatic characters and some excellent writing. However, it was not the first introduction to the character, who had appeared in other Marvel movies before his own film. This scene features the new King of Wakanda revealing to the world that his country will help out the rest of the world.

Dormammu! I've come to bargain!

It's hard to believe that it took so long for Marvel's Sorcerer Supreme to appear in the MCU! Although he has been a B-list hero for years, fans were clamoring for the character to make an appearance in the MCU once they showed that they could make smaller characters like Iron Man an Thor into A-listers! Audiences were not disappointed when it was announced Benedict Cumberbatch would don the cape. In this scene, Dr. Strange wields the Time Stone and uses it to take on Dormammu of the Dark Dimension.

To Face Them is to Court Death

Though he is finally stepping out into the spotlight to face our heroes in Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos has been around since the beginning, teasing us by sitting in the background pulling the strings and appearing in brief cameos or after-credits scenes. In this particular moment, the film's main villain has been defeated and their plot to conquer Earth spoiled. Thanos' minion turns to him and declares that to attack Earth and face its heroes it to "court death." The Mad Titan simply turns to the camera and smiles....

I Had a Date

Even though he is often portrayed as the out of date goody-two-shoes in the comics, Steve Rogers (aka Captain America) is the most popular character in the MCU next to Tony Stark. Though he has been updated for modern audiences, he still sticks with the principles that he held all the way back in his WWII days. This scene shows Cap coming to terms with the fact that he is now a man out of time, reminiscing about how he and Peggy Carter were supposed to have a date before he was lost at sea.

Thor vs. Hulk: Round 2

In the first Avengers film, the God of Thunder and the Incredible Hulk had an epic throw-down on a S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. In this movie, the two get to go a second round, as Thor encounters his old buddy on an alien planet. The hero is captured and forced to fight to the death in a gladiator-style arena. However, he discovers that his final opponent is none other than Bruce Banner's alter ego. The two duke it out, coming to a debatable standstill.

Spider-Man and the Ferry

It felt like a dream come true when it was announced that Sony was going to partially relinquish the rights to Spider-Man, allowing the wall-crawler to join up with his fellow heroes of the MCU for the first time ever. This Peter Parker was significantly younger than the other two versions, and was still struggling to find his role in a world where heroes like Captain America and Thor existed. This scene involves Spidey using his webs to try an stop a ferry boat from ripping in half, only to fail and have Iron Man swoop in to save the day.

Rhodey vs. Tony

Everybody who knew anything about Marvel Comics knew that James "Rhodey" Rhodes was going to become War Machine at some point in the MCU. Although it was teased for a while, the first time he put on the suit was worth it! In this scene, Tony Stark is throwing a party and making a complete drunken fool out of himself, using pieces of the Iron Man costume as play things to impress his guests. Rhodes asks him to stop, and finally forces his hand by putting on one of Stark's earlier Iron Man suits. The two duke it out for a little while before Tony is left to lick his wounds.

Loki "Dies"

Portrayed by the brilliant Tom Hiddleson, Loki is probably the most popular villain in the MCU. Even though he's a bad guy, he's easy to root for; the character is extremely charismatic and has legitimate reasons for why he does the things he does. Overall, the God of Mischief is a master of deception. In this scene, he very convincingly fakes his death in front of his brother. Later, it is revealed that he took over the form of his father Odin to trick Thor into leaving Asgard.

Big Man in a Suit of Armor...

They may be fellow Avengers, but there has always been lots of tension between Captain America and Iron Man in the MCU. Steve Rogers was close to Tony's father Howard, so much so that Stark deep down resents him for it. Then there's just the pure ideological differences- Stark is more of a morally grey hero, while Cap is principled and straightforward. The tensions boil over in this scene, where Cap asks Tony, "Big man in a suit of armor. Take that away and what are you?"

This character was one of those that completely stole the show from the hero every time he was on the screen. Luis had a very laid-back attitude and was completely full of energy whenever he was involved with the story. Yondu Takes Out His Former Crew

Yondu's arrow has to be the most over-powered weapon in the entire MCU. It's a single, red, futuristic version of a typical arrow that the Space Pirate controls by simply whistling his commands at it. He's gotten so good at using his weapon that he can take out entire hordes of enemies without even breaking a sweat! This is exactly what he does in this scene- After a mutiny occurs on his ship, Yondu breaks out of his cell and uses his arrow to kill a bunch of his former comrades, all to the tune of "Come a Little Bit Closer."

Tony Flirts with Aunt May

With the Spider-Man of the MCU being so much younger, it was only natural that Aunt May was going to be on the young side, as well. In the comic books, she was originally portrayed as a woman in her 60s. In the MCU, she's played by Marisa Tomei. This means that she's about the same age as Tony Stark, and Tony notices it. In this scene, Peter comes home to find his mentor sitting on the couch, flirting with his aunt.

Black Widow Interrogates Loki

Black Widow may not have any super powers, but she is no slouch when it comes to saving the world! The character has been a core member of the Avengers in the MCU as well as has made cameos in multiple heroes' solo flicks. In this scene, she goes face-to-face with the God of Mischief himself, Loki. Although it looks like the villain is able to get the upper hand on the hero through sheer verbal trickery, we find out that it was really Black Widow who was manipulating Loki the entire time.

Question 19

Attempted Assassination on Nick Fury

Nick Fury is the connective glue that holds the entire MCU together. He first appeared in the post-credits scene of Iron Man, and was the man who assembled the Avengers in the first place. Throughout the series he has acted as a mentor to the fledgling heroes. In this action scene, a mysterious man in a mask attempts to assassinate Director Fury, chasing him down in a car and then bombarding him with bullets. Nick escapes, only to fake his death later.

Birth of the Vision

The Vision is one of the most important Avengers characters in the comics, but he was nowhere to be found in the first few Marvel movies. Maybe the producers felt his powers were too confusing or that his origin too obscure. Either way, he finally made his debut in this scene, where Thor uses his hammer to summon lightning and power on the android. Afterwards, he briefly scuffles with the heroes until he finally realizes his purpose in life and calms down.

The Race Track Fight

Tony Stark made the brave move to forgo the secret identity and reveal to the world that he and Iron Man were one in the same. While this negated a lot of stress from his life, it also put a huge target on his back; now, anyone in the world who wanted to take out Iron Man knew where he lived. In this action scene, a villain walks out onto the track where Tony is racing and slices his car in half. Thankfully, Stark has a portable Iron Man suit that he throws on last minute to stop the baddie.

Mission Report

When Bucky Barnes was turned into the Winter Soldier, his brain was programmed by Hydra to turn into a lethal killing machine when he was told a series of key words. In this particular scene, a villain (disguised as an FBI agent) sneaks into Bucky's cell and recites the magic words. Instead of telling Barnes an assigned target, he asks for a specific mission report from the 1990s. After he gets what he wants, he leaves the Winter Soldier to wreak havoc on the rest of the heroes.

Pepper Potts the Spy

Pepper Potts is the hot-and-cold love interest for Tony Stark throughout both the comic books and the MCU. Despite being headstrong and immune to Tony's charm, the two make an excellent team. In this scene, Pepper has to go undercover to investigate whether or not somebody in their company has been doing shady dealings. While downloading the information, the villain in question walks in on her, forcing her to think fast on her feet. Potts makes an excuse as to why she's there and walks away with the flash drive in hand.

Thor Speaks with Dr. Strange

When the God of Thunder and his brother Loki make an unexpected visit to New York City, Loki is suddenly captured by a mysterious magic ring. The not left behind tells Thor to go to the Sanctum Sanctorium, where he has a little heart-to-heart with Dr. Strange, the new Sorcerer Supreme. After some hilarious dialogue between the two of them, Thor convinces Strange to let his brother out of his prison. He grabs his hammer (smashing a bunch of stuff in the process) and goes on his way.

Question 25

Tony Speaks to Thunderbolt Ross

General "Thunderbolt" Ross is one of the few Hulk characters who has stuck around in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He started off as a general in the army who was hunting down the Jolly Green Giant. Then, he became Secretary of State and introduced the Slovania Accords. In this scene, Tony Stark finds Ross in a run-down bar and informs him that he is trying to assemble a task force that can deal with threats to the world, and wants to know if the general had any ideas.

Hawkeye's Sanctuary

Hawkeye is the Avengers that everybody seems to forget about. He has no powers whatsoever, and his weapon is a fairly simply bow and arrow. Even the character himself realizes the absurdity of his situation, but actor Jeremy Renner has so much fun with the character that it doesn't matter! In this scene, he reveals his big secret to the rest of his team- He has a secret wife and kids who live in a house in the country. When the team is down, Hawkeye brings them here for a little R and R.

Spider-Man Gets His New Costume

Don't worry- This picture is supposed to be blurry! The Peter Park of the MCU is a member of Gen Z, which means he is completely obsessed with nerd culture and modern day social media like Youtube. While going on his first official mission as a superhero, what does he do? He Vlogs it! The highlight of the young hero's day comes when he receives a suitcase from Happy Hogan (Tony Stark's butler) containing a new Spider-Man suit with lots of technological functions.

The Death of T'Chaka

Why is it every superhero has to have dead parents? Seriously, save for maybe Superman, every character in comic books seems to have suffered the tragedy of losing their parents at some point. Black Panther is no different; while attending a UN meeting to discuss important legislation, a bomb is set off, killing T'Chaka and making it so T'Challa becomes the King of Wakanda. Although the young hero tries to save his father from the blast, he does so in vain.

Thanos Betrayed

Like we said before, Thanos has been around the MCU for a very long time. Since the beginning the villain has been trying to collect all six Infinity Stones to little avail. After the Tesseract, the Power Stone was the second gem that the Mad Titan tried to get his hands on. However, he made the mistake of utilizing a lesser villain to steal it for him; this didn't work, as the baddie used the stone on himself and betrayed Thanos.

Hail Hydra

Other than Thanos, Hydra has to be the biggest threat to the world in the MCU. The criminal organization started up during World War II and insidiously implemented itself into S.H.I.E.L.D. over the years. Hydra has been a threat to Captain America, Iron Man, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, and even Hank Pym! This scene reveals that one of our U.S. Senators (the same one who tried to get Tony Stark to hand over his armor) is secretly part of the organization.

Waking Up in Wakanda

Everet Ross appears to be the new Agent Coulson in the MCU. The character is fairly minor in the grand scheme of things, but he has been around for multiple events and has interacted with several of Marvel's heroes. In this case, he got a little too close. While interrogating a villain, a group of baddies rolls in and breaks the villain out. In the process, Ross is severely wounded. In order to save his life, T'Challa takes him to Wakanda, where the agent is extremely confused when he awakens.

Thor Destroys the Bifrost

In Norse mythology, the Bifrost is a mystical pathway that allows the Gods to travel to anywhere in the nine realms. In the MCU, it is no different! Odin used the path to go around conquering or making peace with the other realms; Thor uses it to travel to Earth when needed. However, while facing a villain who was hellbent on conquering all nine realms and enslaving their peoples, Thor was forced to destroy the pathway with his mighty hammer.

The Armor Saves Pepper

Being the girlfriend/fiance of the most wealthy man in the world has to come with some baggage. Throw in a not so secret identity as one of the world's greatest superheroes, and you definitely are going to have some complications in your life. When Tony Stark is attacked, chances are Pepper will be attacked as well. In this scene, a villain tries to blow up Tony Stark's multi-million dollar house. At the last minute, Tony uses one of his Iron Man suits to shield Pepper from the blast.

Klaw Loses an Arm

The mercenary Ulysses Klauw is one of Black Panther's greatest adversaries in the comic books. In the MCU, Klauw has always played a secondary role. However, the character is portrayed by Andy Serkis, who makes it a blast to watch the villain! In this scene, Klauw finds out his place in the world when he tries to smart off to one of the film's main villains. The villain in question responds by angrily ripping Klauw's arm out of its socket!

He may not have any powers and may be the butt of a lot of online jokes, but Hawkeye is a fan-favorite of the MCU that deserves every bit of respect he gets! Who else other than he and Black Widow go out every day and take on killer robots and aliens with their bare hands? In this instance, Clint Barton may have bitten off more than he could chew when he set his crosshairs on the God of Thunder, Thor.
