There’s No Way Marvel Fans Can Name All These DC Characters. Who Can?

Let's put our capes on tight and set our sights on the digital cosmos. If anyone has an alter ego they like to take on every now and then, it might be time to pull that mask out, too. Within this webpage lies some of the most overpowered heroes and villains ever to grace the digital world. They're all frozen in suspension, trapped within the pixelated confines of the images below, their freedom dependent on how many questions quiz takers can get right. Don't ask us how we got them all here - it took a lot of muscle for us to put this game together. Of course, the point of our game is to name as many DC characters as possible, aiming for a perfect score if it's within reach.

As certain Marvel fans might not know, there are way more characters in the DC universe than Batman and Superman. The list even extends far beyond the ones we've included here - there's a reason why they call it the DC universe, after all.

DC fans will probably be able to ace this test with their eyes closed, but there's absolutely no way a Marvel fan can name all these DC characters. However, as always, they're free to give it a shot.

Question 1

Who's this character?

In the middle of the night, right when the criminals of Gotham think that the city is theirs, this classic hero will pop his iconic symbol into the night sky, and Gotham's evildoers will remember who the city truly belongs to. Although this DC hero was not born with any real superpowers, he's still said to be able to compete with the very best comic book characters out there, especially when he's given a little time to prepare. Who is he?

Question 2

Who's this character?

Every hero needs a nemesis, and sometimes, in both the DC and Marvel universes, these villains end up being more universally beloved than the heroes they're put up against. Of course, that might not be true of this next villain, but regardless - he's a big player in the Superman story, which makes him a super iconic DC villain. He's such a big name in the comic book world, even the most exclusively Marvel comic book fan should know his name.

Question 3

Who's this character?

There's an air of unmistakable wonder and triumph that follows this next DC superhero wherever she goes. When she shows up, those around her are usually quite thankful, since it likely means that she'll be saving them from sure doom. For the forces that antagonize the side of good, this superhero presents a challenge and a half - to say the least, villains need to be on their A-game if they're looking to stand a chance against her. What name does she go by?

Question 4

Who's this character?

Let's think back on the very first of Christopher Nolan's Batman movies, where this guy served as the primary villain. Like all other characters in that Batman universe, he didn't really have any natural superpowers to speak of, so he had to make due with the vile technology he had at hand. What resulted was a hallucinogen that caused scary visions in anyone sprayed by the solution. This ability is quite fitting of the villain's name - what was it, again?

Question 5

Who's this character?

In a blinding instant, this character can scale vast, incomprehensible distances on foot. Most of us tend to rely on mode of transportation other than running in order to get where we need to go, but not this guy - all he has to do is move one foot in front of the other, and before long at all, he might find himself on the other end of the world, with not much else to do other than get some food.

Question 6

Who's this character?

A lot of worlds within the DC universe tend to keep things more realistic than the Marvel stories, as is exemplified by this next character. He's not a galaxy buster or omniscient gatekeeper - indeed, in many ways, he's as ordinary a human being as anyone else. However, the regular human brain has vast unlocked potential, and it's clear that this guy has touched on some of it. Otherwise, Batman wouldn't be spending so much of his time worrying about him.

Question 7

Who's this character?

When the universe needs a shining light to guide it out of darkness, this green DC hero is more than happy to lend a hand. This is his sacred duty, after all - a responsibility he accepted when he took on the powers of the ring he wears. It's too bad that his feature film wasn't quite up to par, since his comic book stories are excellent. DC fans all recognize this guy for sure, but Marvel devotees might not.

Question 8

Who's this character?

While this next DC character might seem like she's always out for a good time, don't be so quick to join her on that, since her idea of a good time often involves doing something disconcerting with a baseball bat. Being the Joker's muse, of course, we wouldn't expect much else from her. Before she goes too crazy in this quiz, let's click her name so we can move on to the next - hopefully not as insane - character.

Question 9

Who's this character?

In the depths of the unforgiving ocean, this classic DC hero hangs out and gets a variety of jobs done with his aquatic friends. Although he's more human than fish, he has the ability to fully interface with entities that dwell in the ocean. Although that might seem like a gimmick of a superpower, one would be surprised by how clutch this ability has proven to be throughout DC Comics' history. Since there's really only one hero like him, clicking his name should be easy.

Question 10

Who's this character?

Pardon the sudden drop in temperature in our webpage, but we really couldn't have avoided it. Wherever this next DC villain goes, frigid temperatures are sure to follow, and those around him better pray that that's the worst of it. If anyone gets on this guy's bad side, they might find themselves indefinitely stuck as a rectangle of ice. Before this quiz turns into an igloo, let's click this character's name so he can make his way out of here.

Question 11

Who's this character?

If there's one DC character that even a Marvel-only comic book fan might recognize, it's probably this one right here. After all, he's one of the most overpowered heroes in the fictional universe, not to mention one of the original superheroes of the modern age. Granted, he isn't the most interesting comic book hero out there (mainly because he's so nigh invincible), but a basic level of respect must be paid regardless. Let's show him some respect by clicking his name.

Question 12

Who's this character?

While we would understand it if a Marvel-only comic book fan would find some trouble in naming some of the more obscure DC characters in here, there's really no excuse to mess up with this next guy. After all, he's Batman's greatest nemesis, and Batman is... Batman, after all. If nothing else, most of us will remember him from Heath Ledger's classic depiction in The Dark Knight. There's no other villain like him, so we should all be able to recognize him.

Question 13

Who's this character?

When this next DC villain shows up to a fight, it's best to just watch what happens from the sidelines at that point. Because of course, his introduction into a battle represents a power level spike that we can scarcely even picture, and we with our wobbly digits will have no hope of keeping up. Thankfully, though, there's a little known hero called Superman who's more than happy to give this guy what for every now and then. What's his name?

Question 14

Who's this character?

Even a super reliable DC hero like Batman can use some help every now and then. When it comes to superhero sidekicks, no one really does it better than this guy right here. Sure, he isn't the fastest, strongest or smartest DC character out there, but he's as loyal, devoted and motivated as anyone else, and he always does what he can to complete the missions Batman gives him. Since the two DC icons go hand in hand, pretty much everyone knows this sidekick's name.

Question 15

Who's this character?

Drawing in even more power from the planet Krypton, we'll summon the eternal essence of this next DC character. While she might not be as much of a mainstream name as the character she was inspired by (he did come first, after all), this hero has been making waves in her own right, especially ever since a high quality TV series was dedicated to her. At this point, even most Marvel fans will be able to recognize this DC character.

Question 16

Who's this character?

Here's yet another DC character without too many remarkable superpowers of her own, but she doesn't really need them in this quiz. All she needs is her fantastic agility, reflexes and catlike personality, and we'll be able to recognize her just fine. Since she's one of the staple characters in Batman lore, even casual comic book fans should know the name of the hero they're looking at. If anyone needs a hint, there's probably one somewhere up in this blurb.

Question 17

Who's this character?

With his wicked command over powers sourced from worlds above and below the one we inhabit, this next DC character is truly in a class of his own. Admittedly, he's one of the more niche entries in this quiz, so it's possible that only a real DC fan will be able to recognize him. However, since he was played by none other than the great Keanu Reeves in an on-screen adaptation, getting this right is still in the realm of possibility - even for a Marvel fan.

Question 18

Who's this character?

Let's throw in another Batman villain here, because why not? Here is that famous bad guy who broke the Caped Crusader's back like it was a worn out branch, although Batman did end up coming back to give him what for. Still, anyone who can pose such a threat to Batman is definitely a noteworthy villain. For anyone who hasn't spent much time digging into DC comic books, just think back on The Dark Knight Rises, and the answer should be obvious.

Question 19

Who's this character?

The overall power level in this quiz has not quite reached Broken status just yet, so let's up the average a little with this next DC character. Really, it's unfair to throw him in any of the universe's battles, since pretty much all his attributes are maxed out at the omni level. His struggle isn't in winning fights - it's in figuring out his purpose in the world, and the meaning of the universe as a whole. While he sorts that out, let's pick his name.

Question 20

Who's this character?

When there's a mysterious case in need of solving - particularly if we happen to be located within the Watchmen fictional realm of the DC comic book universe - we can bet that this guy is not too far behind, giving each clue a painstaking analysis. What he lacks in natural superpowers he more than makes up for with his impeccable skills as a detective. Let's wrack our minds for a while and figure out his name - maybe his face will give us a hint.

Question 21

Who's this character?

Here is one of the most powerful figures in the Watchmen universe, of course placing a distant second to our favorite blue guy. The thing about this character is that we're eternally unsure as to whether we can trust him. Despite his appearing good on the outside, we get the sense that he's manipulating occurrences around him only to further his own goals. What those goals might be, we're not sure we even want to know... though we do want to know his name.

Question 22

Who's this character?

We're sure there's a Marvel devotee out there who has been stricken by some hubris at this point in the quiz, guessing all these DC characters' names with such ease, a flawless finish seems all but inevitable. That's fine, but let's remember one thing - pride comes before the fall. Finishing this quiz with a score of 100% means getting all questions right, including this one. Here's one of the more obscure characters in the quiz - can we figure out her name?

Question 23

Who's this character?

This character isn't a villain at all - if anything, he's more of a hero, though he's definitely not a superhero. In the DC universe, his main role is as friend and professional acquaintance to Batman - in fact, he's one of the only people that Batman actually trusts, and he happens to be his sole connection to the police world, not to mention the police world's sole connection to Batman. Considering all of that, let's try figuring out his name.

Question 24

Who's this character?

Just because the original, dude version of this next superhero tends to get more shine than she does, that doesn't mean she isn't entitled to her time in the spotlight, so we're giving it to her here. This DC character hasn't made much of an appearance on the big screen quite yet, so quiz takers need to be pretty deep into the DC comic book universe to get this one right. Or, maybe they can note the logo over her suit.

Question 25

Who's this character?

Once again, we have a character who hasn't yet made much of an impact on the DCEU big screen, though he has been in some TV shows. Still, most of his fame comes from DC comics, so hopefully we're quizzing it out with someone who's read an issue or two of those. Either way, this villain is bursting into this quiz looking like he's on a hunt. Indeed, he almost always looks like that - can anyone figure out why?

Question 26

Who's this character?

Batman wouldn't ever have much to do without a school of crazy villains going after him all the time. In Gotham, the villains tend to be a little on the absurd side, despite the fact that they're so well-grounded in reality compared to the average superhero universe. Despite the fact that this character is really just a plain old human being, he believes that he's an ancient knight with a divine purpose, and maybe it's that belief that gives him his power.

Question 27

Who's this character?

In the grand spectrum of DC power levels, this guy sits neatly in the top handful of characters. Despite how strong the heroes and villains of our own dimension are, they can't hold a candle to the king of the underworld. Sure, he might not seem like much of a fighter - preferring to observe battles while sipping on a strong drink rather than participate in them - but one blink is usually it takes for him to eliminate a mortal.

Question 28

Who's this character?

Only the universe's most powerful warriors can present a legitimate threat to Superman, and of course, the DC villain we're looking at is one of Superman's greatest rivals. Even those who have never seen him before can recognize the depthless evil in his eyes. While it would be nice for all the gifted citizens of Krypton to err on the side of benevolence, such a thing was not meant to be. Instead, we have Kryptonian baddies like this guy - who is he?

Question 29

Who's this character?

While many of the heroes and villains in this list rely on their skills in epic, explosive battle to either save or ruin the day, this one takes a much slower, more organic approach. If any hero falls for her traps - and that hero usually happens to be the Caped Crusader - they'll need to have some serious antidote on hand in order to make it back to HQ. Only one DC villain operates this way - which is it?

Question 30

Who's this character?

This next DC icon probably deserves his own feature film more than any other. Despite the fact that he's not really a household name, he's almost universally believed by DC fans - heck, even some Marvel devotees have considered putting up one of his posters on their walls. Of course, this guy is so cool, he doesn't care how many posters of him are going up around town. He doesn't even care if we get his name right, though we should still try.

Question 31

Who's this character?

It looks like this quiz has taken a dark turn down the criminal underbelly of Gotham, where there really are no rules. In such an environment, vile geniuses like this next DC villain are allowed to truly thrive. His story has been told through various media, though we're specifically thinking of his feature in the Gotham series. Without asking Batman for any help, let's see if we can click the right name for this villain. It's really not that hard.

Question 32

Who's this character?

The power levels in the Green Lantern story are so vast, the average superhero would quickly turn to space dust if they got in the middle of one of Hal Jordan's epic fights - especially if it's a fight against this wacko right here. Despite how friendly this guy might try to come across as initially, it's important not to be fooled - when all is said and done, he's a super sinister DC character who only wants the worst for the world.

Question 33

Who's this character?

As we've all noticed by now, the DC universe has its fair share of geniuses, whether they're devoted to the side of good or evil. While it would be great if this next character used his brains for the betterment of the world, he'd much rather wreak serious havoc. Thankfully, Batman is always around the corner to put the brakes on this doctor, but sometimes, even Batsy gets caught by surprise. Hopefully quiz takers aren't caught off guard by this one.

Question 34

Who's this character?

Once again, a blatantly overpowered supervillain has broken in through the side wall of this quiz, and is holding us hostage until we manage to guess his name correctly. He's a bit of a niche villain to the casual observer, but true DC fans will surely know his name by heart. The question is, will a Marvel fan also be able to recognize him? There's only one way to know for sure - let's click a button and try it out.

Question 35

Who's this character?

Just one quick glance at this DC supervillain is all it takes to get a sense of his potential for widespread destruction. When he pokes his head into the frame of a DC storyline, only the very strongest protectors of the galaxy can oppose him. Thankfully, we don't need to worry because we have heroes to take care of him. Also, he's not real. But that's besides the point. Who remembers what this villain's name is?
