The Vampire Diaries is one of the longest running vampire shows ever. It ran for a total of eight seasons so there was a lot to remember throughout the entire series. When Lily Salvatore makes her return to Mystic Falls she brings with her a whole band of misfits. She refers to these vampires as her family and they all look up to her like a mother. At the end of the second season Stefan agrees to go with Klaus on his hunt to find werewolf's. In the first season especially, Damon was a troublemaker. He loved to stir up some trouble for his brother and anyone that he was associated with because he was angry at him for something that happened over a hundred years ago. When he first arrived in Mystic Falls, shortly after Stefan, he refused to tell anyone his real motives for returning. But after some "brother bonding" and coercion from Stefan he revealed the real reason that he made a return to his hometown.

How does Caroline's mom die?
Caroline's mom death was one of the saddest and realest moments of the entire series. She was the only remaining parent in Mystic Falls and acted as such. A lot of Caroline's friends looked at her like she was a parent figure and went to her for advice. She was open minded when it came to vampires and accepted her daughter even though she was turned into a vampire. She was also Damon's best friend which is no easy task.
Who is the mother of Alaric's kids?
Alaric has some of the worst luck on the entire show. His first wife faked her own death in order to become a vampire. His next serious relationship with Elena's Aunt Jenna ended when she was killed in Klaus' ritual. So when his twin daughters were born his life changed for the better. He left Mystic Falls to give them a more normal life and accepted a more normal job in order to be there for them when they needed him.
Where do Caroline and Stefan get married?
Stefan and Caroline were forced to fast forward their wedding with the constant threats of danger as well as Stefan having to go work for the literal devil for a year. They got married in a beautiful ceremony but their marital bliss was disrupted at their reception when Kelly Donovan made it known to everyone that she was in fact a vampire now who was intent on helping Katherine escape hell. She even tried to kill Caroline's kids and Bonnie.
Who kills Enzo?
Enzo is a pretty dynamic character. He starts off as Damon's cell mate who helps him get through one of the hardest times in his life. Then he turns evil and exacts revenge on Damon for leaving him behind but in the end he is able to make amends with his old friend and even starts a dry serious relationship with Bonnie, Damon's best friend. Before Bonnie and Enzo are able to really explore their relationship he is killed by someone they know.
Who is Julian?
Julian was featured in the seventh season. He was a major antagonist of this same season. He is the one who drives the phoenix sword through Damon's heart, causing him unending torture for months. He blamed the Salvatore brothers for killing someone that he loved so he felt that this was revenge for their actions. But do you remember how Julian came into the picture to begin with? One of the biggest revelations of season seven is that when Stefan was a human he got his first love pregnant. In the last episode we are able to see that she followed through with it.

Mason Lockwood came into town when his brother died in order to be there for his sister in law and nephew, or so he said. He got caught up reminiscing with old friends and even revealed some family secrets to Tyler during his time in Mystic Falls. However he had an ulterior motive to being in town which is reveled after some time. His ulterior motive makes a lot of people angry at him so its no surprise that he never made it out of town.
What is the name of the stone that is needed to break Klaus' curse?
Klaus needs a couple of different ingredients to break his curse and be able to transform between werewolf and vampire. He needs a doppelgänger, a vampire, a werewolf and a very specific stone to fully complete the spell. This stone passed through many hands before finally landing in the hands of none other than Klaus. Katherine had everything set up for him so that she could get herself off of the hook and had Mason Lockwood retrieve this stone from Tyler.
When Stefan calls Elena while she's with Klaus what does he say?
Stefan never wanted to go with Klaus at the end of season two but he did it in order to save his brothers life. He has a very hard time being away from Elena because he loves her more than anything. How does the siren control Damon?
The siren, Sybil, knows just how to control Damon and get him to do what she wants. She lured him to her by using Elena's voice and uses another tactic to control him for months. She has him kill countless people in order to make her strong and then she uses him to control others and make them do what she wants. Eventually he is able to break out of her control, thanks to his love for Elena and Caroline.
Who burns down the Gilbert house?
The Gilbert house was the scene for a lot of the first couple of seasons of The Vampire Diaries. It was where Elena and her brother grew up and where they matured after their parents were killed. It went from being a safe place to not when vampires began finding out thats where Elena was. Why does Elena turn off her humanity?
A huge part of what makes Elena Gilbert, Elena Gilbert is her compassion and kindness towards others. Who saves Alaric when he crosses the border and is stripped of his vampirism?
When the travelers decided to settle in Mystic Falls they set a spell that allowed no magic in Mystic Falls. As a result any vampire who crossed the border into the small town would be stripped of their vampirism and die from whatever wound should have caused their original death. Long story short, this happened to Alaric and he was stripped of his vampirism. Luckily his wound was savable and he was able to become a human again, what he wanted.
Who does Jeremy stay with when Elena's at college?
With all of their guardians dead, Elena is left in charge of her little brother, Jeremy. However she is just a teenager herself and when she goes off to college she is forced to leave him behind to finish high school. She leaves him with someone that she trusts and knows will be able to protect him from anything, human or supernatural. However she is not too happy with the way that they parent and takes control shortly after leaving.
