The Ultimate WWE Wrestlemania Quiz

On April 18th 2018 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, WWE will bring us Wrestlemania 34. The 'Showcase Of The Immortals' is the highlight of every year, with several months dedicated to the 'Road To Wrestlemania'. Every potential storyline and matchup is dissected endlessly by fans and the internet, and when it gets to the week leading up to the event, a sea of wrestling fans will descend upon New Orleans for the festivities.

This year's card is shaping up pretty nicely. Already confirmed is the Universal Championship match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, as well as the WWE Title match pitting AJ Styles against Shinsuke Nakamura. Former UFC fighter Ronda Rousey will team with Kurt Angle against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, and Charlotte Flair will defend her Smackdown Women's Championship against the undefeated Asuka. John Cena vs The Undertaker is also expected to be confirmed soon enough, which is a match fans have been demanding for years.

So, what better time than now to quiz the members of the WWE Universe on all things Wrestlemania? This quiz will test even the most hardcore WWE superfan, as questions come from all over the 30+ year history of the event.

Think you can ace our quiz? Let's find out!

Question 1

To date, how many Wrestlemania's has Roman Reigns main-evented?

Roman Reigns has been the most controversial figure in WWE for the last several years. He's an excellent wrestler who has had countless great matches, yet because fans felt he was shoved down their throats by the company too early, he is routinely booed out of buildings. He was pushed to the moon from as soon as his group The Shield broke apart, and will likely main event the upcoming Wrestlemania 34 against Brock Lesnar. But how many Mania's has he also previously main evented?

Question 2

Who ended The Undertaker's Undefeated Streak at Wrestlemania?

Going into Wrestlemania 30 (or, to give it its WWE-preferred roman numeral equivalent, XXX) The Undertaker had been undefeated in a massive 21 Wrestlemania matches. His streak had become as big a deal as whoever was defending the WWE Championship at the event, as it seemed like defeating The Deadman at The Show Of Shows was nigh-on impossible. And yet, on this night, someone finally DID defeat The Phenom. To the shock of everyone in attendance and the millions of people watching at home. But who was it?

Question 3

Who did Hulk Hogan and Mr T defeat in the main event of the first Wrestlemania?

On March 31st 1985, the pro-wrestling world was changed forever. Arguably the birth of Sports Entertainment as we know it today, Wrestlemania 1 was a costly risk for Vince McMahon, but it paid off handsomely. The mixture of wrestling, pageantry and celebrities (including Muhammad Ali and Cyndi Lauper) set the template for the show going forward, and a celebrity also featured in the main event: Mr T, who teamed with reigning WWF Champion Hulk Hogan to take on two nefarious heels. Can you name them?

Question 4

Who did Fandango defeat in his debut match at Wrestlemania 29?

It might seem hard to believe these days, what with Fandango being a part of the (admittedly hilarious) comedy tag team Breezeango alongside Tyler Breeze, but back in 2013 big things were expected for the ballroom dancer/wrestler. He initially refused to wrestle if anyone pronounced his name wrong, then started his first feud with a genuine legend of the business, going on to face him in his in-ring debut at Wrestlemania 29! But who was this legend (who has since stated he wasn't overly fond of the whole angle)?

Question 5

Which of these current superstars has NEVER had a singles match at Wrestlemania?

Wrestlemania is, as WWE is always keen to point out, the 'Grandaddy of them all'. It's the biggest event of the wrestling year by quite a distance, and every performer on the roster is hungry to secure a prestigious spot on the card. However, given that the card is normally very stacked and WWE tend to try to fit every active wrestler on the show in some way, some very notable superstars have failed to EVER have a one-on-one match on the big show, mostly taking part in multi-person matches instead.

Question 6

Which of these tag teams has only ever competed in matches on the Wrestlemania pre-show?

Keeping a similar theme to the last question, singles superstars aren't the only ones who can find themselves left off the Wrestlemania card. The tag team division has had a very chequered history at the event, and until last year's Four-Way Ladder match at Mania 33, the tag team titles hadn't been defended on the main show since Mania 29! One of the following teams, in fact, has NEVER competed in a match on the main Wrestlemania card, despite being multiple time Tag Team champions.

Question 7

How many times did Stone Cold Steve Austin wrestle The Rock at Wrestlemania?

To combat modern day fans who complain about the ubiquity of Roman Reigns in the main event of Wrestlemania, it might be worth pointing out to them that during the Attitude Era, WWE actually booked the exact same main event for multiple Wrestlemania's. Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock tussled with each other a number of times in, to be fair, pretty awesome matches to close the Mania show. They were the two biggest and most iconic superstars of the era, and WWE clearly knew it.

Question 8

Bray Wyatt has wrestled three singles matches at Wrestlemania. Name his opponents.

Bray Wyatt has had a very strange career lately. At the moment he is engaged in a feud with 'Woken' Matt Hardy which is mostly played for laughs, which is a far cry from where he was in 2017. At one point the WWE Champion, he even wrestled in a title match at Wrestlemania 33. This wasn't his only very high profile match at Mania either, as he had previously wrestled two legendary figures in prestige singles matches at Mania's 30 and 31. But who were they?

Question 9

Who did Seth Rollins pin to become WWE Champion after cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase at Wrestlemania 31?

The ending of Wrestlemania 31 has gone down in history as one of the most surprising, and exciting, endings the WWE has ever given fans. Seth Rollins, the fiendish turncoat who had stabbed his Shield brothers in the back and joined The Authority, rushed down to the ring in the middle of the main event and cashed in his Money In The Bank contract, which he had held for a lengthy 10 months. He curb stomped both men in the match before pinning one for the 1-2-3, leaving the crowd stunned.

Question 10

Who did Kane throw through a glass window backstage at Wrestlemania 17?

Wrestlemania 17 is widely seen as one of the best Mania's ever. At the height of the Attitude Era, the company delivered a thrilling show with great matches such as Triple H vs The Undertaker, the second TLC match and a Street Fight between Vince and Shane McMahon. Also on the card was a Triple Threat match for the Hardcore Championship which went all over the building as the three men beat the holy hell out of each other. The big moment came when Kane hurled one of his opponents through a glass window backstage...

Question 11

In the 'Battle Of The Billionaires' match at Wrestlemania 23, who wrestled on behalf of Vince McMahon and Donald Trump?

In a surreal twist that only real life can deliver, it's sometimes easy to forget that the current President Of The United States once took part in a big angle in WWE where he shaved Vince McMahon's head bald at Wrestlemania. In a match dubbed the 'Battle of the Billionaires', which had Stone Cold Steve Austin as the Special Guest Referee, two young performers fought each other on behalf of Trump and McMahon. These two were hand-picked by the billionaires as their representatives. But can you remember who they were?

Question 12

Who won the first Money In The Bank Ladder Match at Wrestlemania 21?

The Money In The Bank ladder match has become one of the most popular gimmick matches in WWE history. The first edition took place in 2005 at Wrestlemania 21 when Chris Jericho pitched the idea to then-General Manager Eric Bischoff; six men in a ladder match, with a contract suspended high above the ring guaranteeing the winner a WWE Championship match at any point over the next year. The concept eventually became so popular that it became it's own Pay-Per-View, and in 2017 the first ever women's MITB match occured.

Question 13

Who had her head shaved after losing a Hair vs Hair Women's Championship match at Wrestlemania 20?

At the upcoming Wrestlemania 34, there could be as many as three women's division matches (including two title bouts), as well as a prestige match involving Ronda Rousey and Stephanie McMahon. This can only be seen as a sign of the success of the 'women's revolution', and is a far cry from where the company was in the past. Hell, at Wrestlemania 20, one of the divas had to offer to have her head shaved after the match in order to guarantee the Women's Championship was included on the card at all!

Question 14

At Wrestlemania 18, which match main evented instead of The Rock vs Hulk Hogan?

At Wrestlemania 18, the WWE Universe was in a frenzy and the noise was deafening at all times during the match. But what was the match called?

Question 16

Who was the Special Guest enforcer for Steve Austin vs Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 14?

The main event of Wrestlemania 14 has often been cited as the beginning of the Attitude Era. Michaels performed with a severe back injury and would not wrestle again for four long years. Question 18

Who won the first ever Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal?

Before Wrestlemania 30, Hulk Hogan announced that WWE would be introducing a new match to take place at Mania: the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Question 20

Which three women competed in the Triple Threat match for the new WWE Women's Championship at Wrestlemania 32?

Wrestlemania 32 wasn't one of the better modern Mania's. But it DID feature a barnstorming Triple Threat match that was meant to be for the Divas Championship but, before the match started, divas legend Lita appeared to unveil the brand new Women's Championship belt that would be the prize on offer for the winner! But who were the three women competing in the match?

Question 22

Who did Randy Savage defeat in the finals of a tournament to crown a new WWF Champion at Wrestlemania 4?

Wrestlemania 4 had a mind-boggling 16 matches on its card, which is still a huge amount even with the mammoth four hour runtime. In a huge shock, Hulk Hogan and Andre The Giant were both eliminated in the Quarter Finals with a double DQ, leaving Macho Man Randy Savage to win the Championship in the tournament final against...

Question 23

Who did Yokozuna beat to win the WWF Championship at Wrestlemania 9, before immediately being beaten by Hulk Hogan?

Question 26

Who was Michael Cole's 'trainer' for his match against Jerry Lawler at Wrestlemania 27?

Cole chose his own 'trainer', then a rising star in WWE, to be in his corner. But who was it?

Question 27

How many seconds did it take Sheamus to beat Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania 28?

The innovation and carnage of the match was amazing to behold, and it was the precursor to the TLC match the three teams would come to define.

Question 29

Who did Daniel Bryan beat in the first match of Wrestlemania 30 in order to qualify for the main event?

Wrestlemania 30 was a crowning night in the career of Daniel Bryan.
