Take This Harry Potter Test And We’ll Reveal Your Magical Profession

The Harry Potter franchise is undoubtedly the coolest fantasy franchise ever created. J. K. Rowling came up with the ingenious idea for the enthralling magical universe over two decades ago. Weirdly enough, her first draft was rejected by countless publishers before it finally hit the print press.

Obviously, once the novel series was out, it wasn't long before fans in all four corners of the globe were donning their very own Hogwarts scarves and asking their friends which house they thought they belonged to.

Even though the original Harry Potter series has ended a long time ago (the final Harry Potter book came out in 2007 and the last Harry Potter movie was released back in 2011), the hype surrounding the Wizarding World is still there. That kind of makes sense. After all, we were recently treated to a Harry Potter prequel film series and most of us can think of no better way to spend our holidays than visiting a Harry Potter theme park. Furthermore, some of us also host Harry Potter themed parties and even write fan fiction.

Those who can't get enough of all things Harry Potter will love this quiz, for it will match everyone with their magical profession.

Question 1

Pick a house!

Good news: you can choose the house that you want to be sorted into! So, which house is it going to be? Do you want to be known as a brave Gryffindor, a cunning Slytherin, a brainy Ravenclaw or a kind and loyal Hufflepuff? Gryffindor and Slytherin are without a doubt the two most popular Hogwarts houses. Pretty much everyone wants to be sorted either into Gryffindor or Slytherin. Why? We have no idea. We think that Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws are pretty cool too. Maybe you do too.

Question 2

Choose a pet.

Every student is allowed to bring one pet with them to school. The most popular pets are obviously owls. They are not only incredibly cute but also very useful. For example, if a student has a pet owl then he or she can use it to send letters to family or friends. Pet rats are also quite common as are pet toads. Pet cats are rare but still acceptable. Those who love dogs are bound to be disappointed though: it doesn't seem like dogs are allowed to be kept as pets at Hogwarts.

Question 3

Favorite professor?

If you were a student at Hogwarts you would doubtlessly have a favorite Professor. For example, Harry Potter loved Professor Lupin who taught Defense Against the Dark Arts (albeit for just a year) whereas most Slytherin students liked Professor Snape who taught Potions (mostly because he was also the Head of Slytherin house and always looked out for them). Out of the four professors mentioned above, which one do you think would go on to become your favorite if you were studying at Hogwarts?

Question 4

Choose a nemesis.

No one wants to have a nemesis but you can't deny that having a nemesis makes your life much more interesting. Imagine if there had been no Draco Malfoy. Harry Potter's life would have been nowhere near as exciting. Your nemesis doesn't have to be a follower of Lord Voldemort. Indeed, your nemesis doesn't even have to be a Slytherin. For example, at one point during the series Ron Weasley's nemesis was a fellow Gryffindor student (who was interested in Quidditch and Hermione).

Question 5

Pick a magical creature.

Out of the four magical creatures above, which one is your favorite? Dragons are obviously pretty cool but they are also somewhat dangerous. You'd want to be qualified before you try and handle them. Acromantulas are giant spiders. Their appearance is hair-raising so we wouldn't recommend choosing them if you dislike spiders. Basilisks are giant green serpents that can take a person's life by merely looking him or her in the eye. They tend to be bred by Dark wizards and are loyal to those who speak the language of snakes. Finally, Pixies are blue mischief-makers who love to wreak havoc (Daily Break).

Question 6

Choose a Quidditch position.

Fans of Harry Potter are well aware that Quidditch is a wizarding sport that is played on broomsticks. It is actually the most popular game in the wizarding world and is similar to Muggle football. The aim is to score more points than the team you're playing against. The game ends when a tiny gold ball known as the Snitch is caught. Sometimes the game can go on for days if both teams are not successful in catching the Snitch. It is up to the Seeker's to catch the Snitch. The Keeper guards the goalposts, the Chasers score goals and the Beaters keep the Bludgers away from their team members (Harry Potter Wiki).

Question 7

Choose a Patronus.

A Patronus is a powerful spirit guardian that can be summoned via a Patronus Charm. According to Harry Potter Wiki, the Patronus Charm is one of the most powerful defensive charms out there. Unfortunately, the spell is also somewhat complicated which means that not every wizard and witch will be able to evoke a spirit guardian. There are two types of Patronuses: a corporeal Patronus and an incorporeal Patronus. A corporeal Patronus has a particular shape whereas an incorporeal Patronus doesn't. Corporeal Patronuses are much more powerful (and naturally, harder to evoke).

Question 8

Save one character.

The Harry Potter series was amazing but it was also pretty sad. After all, countless characters passed away at one point or another, leaving us in tears. But imagine this: you have the ability to save one character that has passed on. Which character would it be? You can choose one of the four characters mentioned above. We know that you probably want to save all of them. Unfortunately, for the purpose of this quiz you must choose just one.

Question 9

Choose a best friend.

Everyone needs a best friend, even loners. Harry couldn't have saved the wizarding world if he wasn't friends with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. They helped him out in times of need (like when he had to locate all of the seven Horcruxes) and they listened to him when he was upset. Out of the four characters above, which one would you like to be your best friend? Take your time when answering this question. There's no rush. The most important thing is that you choose the person closest to your heart.

Question 10

Choose the best spot in Hogwarts to hangout.

The best place to hangout in Hogwarts is obviously your house's common room. That's where you sleep and where you get to chat with your fellow housemates. However, at times the common room can get loud. Consequently, you might want to look for an alternative hangout spot. Luckily, Hogwarts' castle is huge and there are plenty of abandoned classrooms and unused corridors to retreat to. Not that you'd necessarily want to spend your free time in an empty room, of course. Which is why the choices above are somewhat more conventional.

Question 11

Join the Order of the Phoenix or Lord Voldemort's followers?

Which would you rather: join the Order of the Phoenix or become one of Lord Voldemort's followers? The way that you answer this question will say a lot about you as a person. If you choose to go with the former option - joining the Order of the Phoenix - you're probably a fair, kind, and loyal individual who does not care whether someone is a Muggle or a wizard. If, on the other hand, you opt for the latter option you probably believe that wizards are superior to Muggles (and you're probably a Slytherin!)

Question 12

What can be seen in the Mirror of Erised?

In the first Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry comes across a mysterious mirror that is propped up against the wall in an abandoned classroom. He glances at it and is surprised by the reflection. He becomes obsessed with the mirror and goes back to it almost every single day until Professor Dumbledore talks to him about it. What was it that Harry saw in the mirror? Or, to be more specific, what does the Mirror of Erised show?

Question 13

Choose a wand core.

Before you make your way down to Hogwarts you need to go shopping for school supplies. In addition to purchasing school books and other necessities such as parchment paper, quills and potion ingredients, every first year student also needs to buy a wand. The only place you can get equipped with a wand in Great Britain is at Ollivanders, a cozy shop located in Diagon Alley. Ollivander is known as a master wand maker so you are in good hands!

Question 14

What are the names of the four witches and wizards who founded Hogwarts?

According to Harry Potter Wiki, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a wizarding school that is located in the Scottish Highlands. Its students come from Great Britain and Ireland. The exact location of Hogwarts can never be uncovered because it was made unplottable. Furthermore, it looks like an abandoned castle to Muggles. Founded sometime in the 10th century, Hogwarts is deemed to be one of best wizarding schools in the world. But what are the names of the four famous men and women that founded Hogwarts?

Question 15

Choose a spell.

Is there anything more exciting than learning new spells? Probably not. After all, what good is your wand if you don't know how to use it, right? First year Hogwarts students learn spells and charms in charms class which is led by the eccentric Professor Flitwick. Charms is actually a core class which means that everyone has to take it (i.e. you're not given an option to opt out of it if you realize that you do not like it, at least not until you are in your final years).

Question 16

What are the four founders' relics?

Hogwarts was founded by four ambitious witches and wizards (and to be more precise: two witches and two wizards). They all shared one thing in common: they wanted to set up a school where young witches and wizards would be taught everything they needed to know in order to make it in the wizarding world. However, they had little else in common which is what caused them to create their own distinct houses. The four founders eventually passed away but they left an amazing legacy. They also left four relics. Who thinks that they know what these four relics were?

Question 17

Which potion is also known as "Liquid Luck"?

We're not going to lie: Potions is a tough subject. It's hard to do well in it which is perhaps why the series' protagonist, Harry Potter, was so bad at it. Of course, it didn't help that for most of his time at Hogwarts the subject was taught by none other than Professor Snape, the man who loved Harry's mother (and consequently could not stand Harry). It was only in his sixth year at Hogwarts that Harry began to excel at Potions and that was only because he had come into possession of an old Potions textbook that contained helpful comments. It was this textbook that helped him win a potion known as "Liquid Luck".

Question 18

What is the name of Harry Potter's aunt?

When we first met Harry he had no idea that he was a wizard. He lived with his mean aunt and uncle (and their spoiled son). He was seriously mistreated and initially, we couldn't understand why. After all, his aunt was his deceased mother's sister. Surely she should have loved him? It was only later that we learned that his aunt was jealous of her sister (and the protagonist's mother) for being a witch. But what was the name of Harry's aunt? Who thinks that they can remember?

Question 19

What is Bezoar used for?

A Bezoar is a stone-like mass that can be found in the stomachs of goats. It consists of plant fiber, hair, and other matter that goats can't digest (Harry Potter Wiki). A small stock of Bezoars was kept in the Potions classroom at all times. It could also be found in the Hospital Wing. But who can remember what it is that Bezoars do? Why are they so important? Fans will of course recall that Harry once used it on his best friend Ron Weasley.

Question 20

Whose diary does Ginny Weasley get a hold of in the second movie?

In the second Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Ron Weasley's sister Ginny Weasley finds herself in trouble all because she comes into the possession of a secret diary. If you consider yourself a true and loyal fan of the series you should ace this question.

Question 21

What animal can Sirius Black turn into?

In the Harry Potter universe, some witches and wizards can transform into animals. Those who possess this unique ability are known as animagus. A registry is kept of all animagi. However, not all of those who possess this skill register. For example, Sirius Black can turn into an animal but he never registered with the Ministry of Magic. This turned out to be a wise decision for it actually saved his life. But what animal could Sirius turn into?

Choose the best subject.

Everyone has a favorite subject in school. For example, Harry Potter's favorite class in Hogwarts was Defense Against the Dark Arts. As such, it comes as no surprise that he excelled at the subject. Which class do you think would be your favorite if you were a student at Hogwarts? Choose an option from the four that are available above.

Question 23

Who is not a Weasley?

Pretty much all fans of the Harry Potter series love the Weasleys. They are a family of kind and friendly redheads. They may be poor (relatively speaking) but they know that life is about more than acquiring wealth. Harry's best friend was a Weasley and he felt very close to the family. Indeed, Molly Weasley, Ron's mother, treated Harry like her own son. Molly and her husband, Arthur, had quite a few kids. Only those who are true fans of the series will know which of the above four characters is NOT a Weasley!

Question 24

Choose the least interesting subject.

Going to a wizarding school sounds amazing. We all fantasize about the friends that we would make there and the subjects that we would take. But if were were actually students at Hogwarts we wouldn't necessarily like all of our classes. So, out of the four subjects above, which one do you think you would like the least?

Question 25

What is a Howler?

Not many wizards and witches are prepared to do that, hence why there exist only a handful of Horcruxes. Even if a witch or a wizard has a Horcrux, he or she can still be eliminated. However, you'll need to get rid of their Horcrux first (Harry Potter Wiki).
