Take The MCU Challenge To Find Your Infinity Stone

After teasing the Infinity Gauntlet for a number of years, the iconic weapon from the Marvel comics finally took centerstage in this year's Avengers: Infinity War — where Thanos is on a quest to acquire all six Infinity Stones and wipe out half the population of the universe. Spoiler alert: he succeeds. But in the process, it also looks like he destroys the Infinity Gauntlet, leaving viewers to wonder how the events of the film will be reversed in the next Avengers outing.

Of course, the Infinity Stones should still be stashed away somewhere. And even if the Avengers and Guardians can't use them all together, there's a good chance that wielding them one at a time would be more than enough to destroy Thanos and return life to the universe.

But which stone would be the most valuable asset?

The Time Stone is, of course, an easy answer. But we have yet to know the full capabilities of what this stone can actually do when its outside of the gauntlet. And just because Doctor Strange once made a time loop doesn't mean this stone alone could restore everything. Then, of course, there's the matter of the Soul Stone and the fate of Gamora — who seems to be trapped inside.

Suffice it to say, the remaining heroes are going to have to get creative when it comes to using the Infinity Stones to defeat Thanos. So let's see who else would be up for the challenge!

Question 1

Which hero would have the best chance of defeating Thanos if he didn’t have the Infinity Gauntlet?

By the end of Avengers: Infinity War, it looked as though the Mad Titan Thanos had fried the Infinity Gauntlet… along with a good chunk of his body. Therefore, the villain might not have any buffed strength in the next Avengers movie, making him a more even match for the remaining heroes.

Question 2

Pick a faction of the Avengers to join.

Ever since 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, the Avengers have been split into two factions: one led by Steven Rogers and the other by Tony Stark. The primary difference being that Roger’s factions believes that superheroes should look after themselves, while Stark’s side believes that they need to be regulated.

Question 3

What should the heroes have done differently in Infinity War?

Because the Avengers ended up splitting into these two factions, they were by no means prepared to take on Thanos and his Black Order. As a result, they made a ton of missteps in the movie. So what would you have done differently if you were in charge of the heroes?

Question 4

Choose a weapon.

With Mjolnir out of the picture, it looks like Stormbreaker is the new weapon to fear in the MCU. We’ll have to leave the Infinity Gauntlet out of the equation in this instance, as it easily overshadows ever type of weapon we’ve seen in the shared universe to date by a long shot.

Question 5

Which Infinity Stone is the most powerful?

Unlike the comics, the movie did a much better job at breaking down the individual powers that each Infinity Stone gives to the wielder of the gauntlet. Of course, certain stones seemed a lot more useful than others — and if not for the Time Stone, Thanos wouldn’t have acquired the Mind Stone at all.

Question 6

Which is the weakest?

We think many would agree that the Time Stone and the Reality Stone are two of the more powerful gems. But what about the other four. Is the Power Stone really all it’s chalked up to be? After all, characters like Thanos and Thor already weild an incredible amount of power without it.

Question 7

Which character should have never handed over an Infinity Stone?

We never got to see what exactly happen on Xander when Thanos acquired the Power Stone. But we have to assume the honorable Nova Corps put up the best fight that they could. But would the stone still have been in better hands with someone else? Or are characters like Loki and Gamora a lot more at fault?

Question 8

Pick a place to rendezvous with the other heroes.

If only the Avengers and the Guardians had known about each other sooner they could have rendezvoused with one another as soon as the Black Order started wreaking havoc on Earth. This would have surely given them the leg up, as they almost defeated Thanos on a number of occasions without any real organization anyway.

Question 9

Which character would win in a fight?

Aside from both of their superhero names being taken from creepy-crawlies, one must admit that it would be a pretty interesting fight watching Spider-Man and Ant-Man go head to head. Of course, Peter Parker is way stronger than Scott Lang. But Lang has a far more impressive suit. So who would win?

Question 10

Which villain would stand the best chance against Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet?

We haven’t seen any heroes who are anywhere near being on the same playing field as Thanos in the MCU. Though Captain Marvel promises to change that next year. We have, however, seen a bunch of formidable villains who are stronger than Thanos without the gauntlet. So would any of them stand a chance?

Question 11

Choose a superpower.

Much like an individual super power, each Infinity Stone grants the uses a particular supernatural ability. At least, that’s the way it seems when they’re assembled within the Infinity Gauntlet, as many of their particular powers have seemed to change significantly from the previous films — as was the case with the Reality Stone from Thor 2.

Question 12

Which human character would have stood the best chance of taking down Thanos?

Infinity War made it pretty clear that Thor was the heroes’ best bet at beating Thanos. He is a god, after all. But which human do you think could have held their own against him the longest. Steve Rogers certainly stood his ground for a time, but it’s very likely that Thanos was toying with him.

Question 13

Which of these characters wasn’t worthy of wielding an Infinity Stone in the first place?

It’s hard to argue that characters like Doctor Strange and Vision didn’t deserve the Infinity Stones in their possession — though Strange certainly could have done more in Infinity War. Character like the Collector and Loki on the other hand, seemed like they were a lot more careless with protecting the gems.

Question 14

Rather be loved or feared?

It may be a bit of a cliched question, but an individuals answer is often the thing that separates most heroes from their villains. While someone like Thanos would claim that he’s destroying half of all life to improve the universe, the truth is probably a lot closer to him wanting to be seen as a god.

Question 15

Don a suit of armor.

Unless your powers are truly out of this world, you’re going to want to slap on a suit of armor before you face-off against an all-powerful enemy like Thanos. So which suit do you think would give you the most protection against the enemy, as well as the greatest advantage when it comes to attacking?

Question 16

Choose a place to live.

We’ve seen no shortage of amazing places in the MCU that we’d like to visit. Unfortunately, most of them don’t exist and many of the fictional ones have also been destroyed. But as the franchise continues to reach out into the cosmos, there are bound to be some new locations that debut shortly.

Question 17

Choose a sidekick.

All of these characters are very developed in their own rights, but they still end up providing support for each film’s primary hero. So which one would you like having your back? Someone who’s an expert in firearms and pithy one-liners, like Rocket Raccoon? Or someone who’s all business when it comes to the action, like the Wasp?

Question 18

Which character would win in a fight?

In the comics, they call Gamora one of the deadliest women in the universe. But in the films, her powers are rarely on full display — boiling down to nothing more than super strength and above average fighting skills. But would someone like Black Widow still stand a chance to the enhanced daughter of Thanos?

Question 19

Pick the strongest Avenger.

There’s been a ton of debate over which Avenger would come out on top in a battle. But unfortunately, the strongest Avengers didn’t make an appearance for the epic airport battle in Civil War. So the debate continues to rage on. Out of these four, who do you think would emerge victoriously?

Question 20

How about the strongest Guardian of the Galaxy?

Celestial Star-Lord may have been one of the strongest characters to appear in the MCU to date. But after he destroyed his father, his abilities quickly vanished alongside Ego. While that means Peter Quill is nothing more than a mortal, a number of the other Guardians still have out-of-this-world powers.

Question 21

Which character was the hardest to say goodbye to in Infinity War?

Everyone knows that a ton of the characters who disappeared in Infinity War will be back soon enough. After all, both Spider-Man and Black Panther both have sequels in the works. But these four character listed below met their demise before Thanos ever snapped his fingers, leaving their fates largely up in the air.

Question 22

Who’s the more powerful magic user?

Scarlet Witch may very well be the most powerful Earth-bound hero. But we never really got a chance to see her powers on full display. However, we did get a glimpse of these impressive abilities at the end of Infinity War when she’s actually able to destroy one of the gems. Could Strange possibly compete with that?

Question 23

Pick a color scheme.

It’s amazing just how many heroes end up donning the colors of blue and red. In the MCU alone, this includes Spider-Man, Captain America, Doctor Strange, and the upcoming Captain Marvel, just to name a few. So would you stick with tradition, or opt for something that’s a little more distinct?

Question 24

Who is the smartest hero in the MCU?

Of course, it doesn’t just take brawn to defeat Thanos, as the heroes threw pretty much everything they could at him during their final showdown in Wakanda. What they didn’t have, however, was a more cohesive plan for facing off against the Mad Titan in the first place. So hopefully we see a little more brain power in Avengers 4.

Question 25

Which departed MCU hero could have really turned the tide in Infinity War?

While we said goodbye to more major characters in Infinity War than we have the rest of the MCU combined, there are certainly a few departed characters who the Avengers and Guardians could have used by their side in the latest team-up film. So out of these four, who would’ve been the best match for Thanos?

Question 26

Pick a place to hide an Infinity Stone.

It’s not like Thanos is a god. So couldn’t just one of the heroes have hidden an Infinity Stone somewhere and not told anyone about its location? Better yet, they could have hidden right along with it, never giving Thanos a chance to extract the information from them and preventing him from achieving a fully assembled weapon.

Question 27

Rather travel into the future or the past with the Time Stone?

The other stones might be impressive, but they’re still no match for time. Arguably, having the Time Stone can eclipse any other outcome caused by the other Infinity Stone, as all the user needs to do it turn back time. Thanos did it to recover the Mind Stone, after all. Now the Avengers just need to do the same.

Question 28

What should the heroes do if they reacquire the Infinity Stones in Avengers 4?

What’s going to happen in Avengers 4 is anyone’s guess. But most would probably speculate that the heroes are going to at least get a chance to use one or more of the Infinity Stones at one point. But they should probably have a plan in place once they get them back from Thanos, don’t you think?

Question 29

Which character would win in a fight?

It looks like Tony Stark has another adversary in Peter Quill — should Quill make it back in Avengers 4, that is. We doubt the two would ever come to blows, but being the mortal men that they are, who do you think would end up coming out on top? Star-Lord or Iron Man?

Question 30

Pick a strategy to defeat Thanos in the next Avengers film.

There is no shortage of theories floating around out there as to what the remaining heroes have to do to defeat Thanos in Avengers 4. But some of the most popular ones involve time travel, waiting for Captain Marvel to save the day, or banking on Ant-Man to pull something off while in the Quantum Realm.
