The Friends cast joined us in our homes for ten years, and some of us felt like we were really hanging around with them. Part of the pleasure of the show was how each episode would start being about one thing, and then veer into some wild—and wildly funny—other direction. Best of all were the little surprises scattered along the way—episodes where the friends would compete with each other over who knew the others the best were classic, because all kinds of crazy stories would come to light. Phoebe's family history alone could fill a book (A twin sister?
