The problem with most TV shows that carry on over many seasons is that eventually, no matter how gripping the storyline or how interesting the characters are (or how many dragons there are), it starts to get stale. It can be difficult to keep a show fresh, to keep coming up with plot twists and new adventures especially when you only have the same characters and the same location to work with.
But this is where shows like American Horror Story are different. AHS is an anthology, which means that each season is its own mini-series. Each season has a different theme and while many of the same actors play in every season, they take on different roles each time. The stories play out in various locations and over different time periods but there are small, subtle connections that tie all the seasons together (if you know where to look for them that is).
If you're a fan of American Horror Story (which you clearly are) then we don't need to tell you what an awesome show it is. Like the rest of us, you are probably eagerly awaiting season 8!

It's such a confusing time in anyone's life but for this girl, who we met in season 1 of AHS, it was made even more difficult by her family problems. Her dad, although a professional, was a cheater and this caused major drama in their small family, especially when her mother became pregnant. The family eventually has to move to get a fresh start but they end up living in the Murder House. Who was this character?

From ghostly junkies to ancient vampires, serial killers, and even monsters, this was a hotel stuffed with horror. This character (played by Denis O'Hare) wasn't a creature of the night, or a killer, just a man trying to be his authentic self. This was her first appearance in American Horror Story but she's proved that she has what it takes to pull of the dark roles. At first, she believes that she is making a difference to the world but as his plans become clear, she realizes she made a fateful mistake in trusting him. Who was she?

AHS Freak Show showcased some of the most interesting characters, and what made it even more special was the fact that the show used folks with real-life oddities to make it even more authentic. This character was the owner (and builder) of the Hotel Cortez but the reason that he built the place was not to entertain guests. This character (played by Lily Rabe in Murder House) probably thought she was making a good decision when she married a successful doctor. He built her a spectacular house and they had a baby together but that's when things started to go south. After he developed a drug habit his medical practice took a dive, leaving his wife suffering and bitter. The once breezy socialite became so depressed after suffering loss after loss that she eventually took her own life and became one of the ghosts of Murder House.

He was a part of the troupe at Fräulein Elsa's Cabinet of Curiosities and he had a severely limited vocabulary that only seemed to include one word (which is also the name he went by). Conroy first appeared as a maid in the Murder House and returned for both season two and season three. She played a small role in Freak Show but was absent in Hotel.
