South Park may be a cartoon but it's definitely not intended for younger viewers. The show, which first aired in August 1997, has become infamous for its dark humor, on-point social commentary, and of course, its crude language, making it suitable for mature audiences only.

South Park follows the lives of four grade school boys; Stan Marsh, Kenny McCormick, Kyle Broflovski, and Eric Cartman and their adventures in South Park, a fictional Colorado town. The show has been nominated for a variety of awards including Annie Awards, Critics' Choice Television Awards, Emmy Awards, and TCA Awards and enjoyed a number of wins. The show remains Comedy Central's highest rated program and second-longest-running (just behind The Daily Show). And the good news for South Park fans is that the show has been renewed through 2019 so there will be plenty more adventures to come.

Cartman is generally considered to be the most popular character on South Park and creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have said that he is the creation they identify with the most.
