The 90s were an interesting time to be alive. Home consoles were killing off the arcades, and everyone had to pick between Nintendo or Sega until Playstation arrived and took over the market. CD's replaced cassettes as our primary method of music storage. MTV was in full swing, but they had not yet become a reality show network, so you could still watch Music Videos all day long. A new wave of sound was coming out of the north-west that was going to change the landscape of music for a generation. The time would be capped off by Napster turning almost everyone into a music pirate. The decade that brought us grunge rediscovered punk rock, and formulaic boy bands almost too numerous to remember, was wild. The era when everything was either tie-dye or flannel gave the world some of the most enduring music and some of the most cringe-worthy music fads.
We are going back to a time when Pogs were outlawed from the playgrounds, but seat belts were still optional in the back seat. So grab your Disc-Master, and your best pair of overalls as we take a walk down a musical memory lane. How many of these music acts from the 90s do you remember?
