Rate Your Favorite 90s TV Shows And We'll Guess Your Gender

The 1990s are back, baby. Hey Arnold! just released a TV movie and may come back with another season in 2018, The Simpsons is being (relatively) funny again, and the New York Yankees are headed for another dynasty. Fun times!

Let's take the time this holiday season to go back to the 1990s and think back to some of the best shows on television at the time. You're going to rate these shows by saying if you liked them, hated them, or were mixed on them as we try to predict your gender. Chances are, we'll be right.

We do have a few ground rules for this quiz, one of which is that shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy that either began or rose to prominence in the 1990s and are still going are ineligible. Also, many beloved shows by all genders such as Seinfeld, Rugrats, and more aren't on this list. We're trying to be divisive and really find out what shows you were into.

So, if you're ready to take a trip back to the 1990s and think back to times when TV shows could get away with more and not worry about social media and the politically correct reacting, let's get to work!

Question 1

Batman: The Animated Series

You know that we can't talk about 1990s shows without mentioning what many believe to be the greatest superhero show of all time. Darker than any Batman show we'd ever gotten and sometimes rivaling the Tim Burton movies, this Batman medium brought Kevin Conroy's Dark Knight, Mark Hamill's Joker, and even Harley Quinn to the mainstream. What'd you think of BTAS?

Question 2

Rocko's Modern Life

Rocko's Modern Life is a reminder of when things were simpler, when shows could get away with subtle references to self pleasure, sex lines, and the no-tell motels. One of the more innovative cartoons, Rocko's Modern Life is set to see a new movie come out next year. What'd you think of Rocko's Modern Life?

Question 3

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Before there were shows about zombie apocalypses, vampires ruled the day, especially on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. What'd you think of Buffy?

Question 4

Sabrina the Teenage Witch

Another show involving female teenage characters with superpowers fighting creatures way out of their league - we can only wonder how Twitter would've reacted to these shows - Sabrina the Teenage Witch was exactly what it sounded like: a witch not getting stoned but instead battling evil. What'd you think of Sabrina the Teenage Witch?

Question 5

Recess

What would we do without Recess - the tale of six fourth-graders dealing with normal elementary school things like bullies, bad teachers, and a class system (no pun intended) with a sixth-grader known as "King Bob"? Huh. Well, it was better than my boring elementary school experience. What'd you think of Recess?

Question 6

All That

It was the show by kids for kids... well, not really since it was directed by adults. But All That was one of the first shows on TV to have a truly diverse cast and have child actors star as kids. In other words, we're not far from a reboot in the near future. What'd you think of All That?

Question 7

Roseanne

You remember Roseanne, right? The show about a working-class family from Illinois that starred Roseanne and wasn't overrated? Yeah, that show. It's not the show that will turn into me editorializing on what shows are supposed to be like and how Roseanne really isn't funny. What'd you think of Roseanne?

Question 8

Boy Meets World

Another sitcom? The 1990s were the time of sitcoms, especially shows that didn't worry about age and allowed for a natural flow of plot developments as the actors themselves aged. Boy Meets World has held up all of these years later, though like many other shows on this list, it's probably headed for a reboot soon. What'd you think?

Question 9

King of the Hill

King of the Hill Hank Dale Bill BoomhauerKing of the Hill Hank Dale Bill Boomhauer

For your sake, we hope you know how to sell propane and propane accessories with the best of them. Taking place in Texas, King of the Hill is one of the more tame, realistic FOX comedies; it's just about a man selling propane, his aging wife, and his lazy son. What'd you think of King of the Hill?

Question 10

The Wonder Years

Another coming-of-age show makes this list in the form of The Wonder Years, well before Fred Savage's career went downhill. The show is about a boy, his siblings, his working father, his housewife mother, and a girl he finds himself being attracted to. Despite the cliche premise, what'd you think of The Wonder Years?

Question 11

Beavis and Butt-Head

Do we even need to explain this legendary comedy series? If you ever wanted to watch two stoners sit around for 20-25 minutes doing nothing, Beavis and Butt-Head is the perfect show, especially when Tom Anderson shows up. Let's just hope he doesn't have another flashback. What'd you think of Beavis and Butt-Head?

Question 12

Daria

The spin-off of Beavis and Butt-Head sees Daria, a breakout character who originally went to their school, get her own show and take on female norms like being obsessed with looks, boys, and dates. Is it possible Daria was the first third-gender character on TV? What'd you think of Daria?

Question 13

Party of Five

Still, Party of Five managed to develop a strong following for its mature takes on parental loss and even teenagers experiencing domestic violence in their own relationships. What did you think of Party of Five?

Question 14

Wings

Who doesn't want to watch a show about pilots? Wings told the story of two brothers who were pilots, leading to some wacky adventures and memorable moments. Question 15

The Powerpuff Girls

One was made from sugar, one was made from spice, and the other was made of nice. Oh, that's not how the intro goes. Anyways, The Powerpuff Girls was one of Cartoon Network's first hit original cartoons before being rebooted into something awful many years later. What'd you think of the original The Powerpuff Girls?

Question 16

The Cosby Show

Try to forget or ignore the Bill Cosby allegations for a second and focus solely on if you enjoyed The Cosby Show or not. We understand this may be difficult, but we're talking about the TV show and its various actors, not just what Bill Cosby may or may not have done. What'd you think of The Cosby Show?

Question 17

Goosebumps

Goosebumps

Not unlike The Twilight Zone, Goosebumps brought alive different monsters, ghouls, and old men each episode, adapting many of its plotlines from the popular book series. In hindsight, Goosebumps was never terrifying the way horror movies were or even The Twilight Zone was, but it could seriously scare some people. What'd you think?

Question 18

Dexter's Laboratory

What made so many early Cartoon Network original shows interesting and successful - and it's something Nickelodeon understood as well - was mixing the surreal with the real in a cartoonish way. Dexter's Laboratory worked not only because it had a weird-sounding ginger kid making experiments, but also because there were realistic emotions like pride, anger, and jealousy mixed in. What'd you think of Dexter's Laboratory?

Question 19

Touched by an Angel

We're going to refrain from making a very obvious joke, one that Family Guy already did, and just ask you what you felt about Touched by an Angel. While some were initially turned off by its religious overtones, many came to enjoy it for its life lessons that were more about family and love rather than religion. What'd you think?

Question 20

Spider-Man

Any Spider-Man show that has the catchy theme song (even if it's a remixed, more current version) and doesn't star Andrew Garfield is good enough for us. Like any Spider-Man cartoon, the webbed hero took on our normal villains - Green Goblin, Doc Oc, Kingpin - and met up with some allies as well. What'd you think of the '90s Spider-Man show?

Question 21

X-Men

If you're not humming this show's theme song right now, you may as well stop taking this quiz. We said we wouldn't judge you, but even if you found this show to be a bit camp or corny at times, don't hate on the theme song. What'd you think of X-Men?

Question 22

The Secret World of Alex Mack

Do you remember this show? Let's see how IMDb remembers it. "She's Alex Mack. One minute she's walking home... the next there's a crash, and she's drenched in some weird chemical! Then she gets powers..." So, she's kind of like Spider-Man in a way? What'd you think of this superhero rip-off - I mean, coming-of-age show for girls?

Question 23

Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs? Dinosaurs. Originally created by Jim Henson of The Muppets as a dinosaur-like version of The Simpsons (oh, no...), the show took place in 60,000,003 BC (or as they tell you in school to not offend, BCE) and was about dinosaurs pushing trees. Dare I ask what you thought of DInosaurs?

Question 24

The Amanda Show

Remember when Amanda Bynes did things? Hold on... I have to check to see if she's still alive... yep, she's alive and weighing a return to acting - wait, she's still only a 31-year-old???? Anyways, Amanda Bynes had her own sketch show, which then somewhat spun off to Drake & Josh. What'd you think of The Amanda Show?

Question 25

Futurama

Well, Futurama did end in 2013, so this is eligible for this list given our ground rules from the beginning.
