Everyone loves movies, at least at a basic level. What could possibly be better than plopping oneself down on a comfortable chair for 2 hours or so and watching someone else's story rather than their own? Although development of our own stories is a priority, sometimes the best way to further ourselves is by taking a moral or two from a classic movie. On the other hand, even if there's no knowledge or wisdom to be gained from a film viewing, sometimes it does the spirit well to throw two or so hours in the trash by minding a fictional character's business rather than our own.
Anyone who's an avid minder of fictional characters' businesses will likely recognize all the films that follow. After all, these are among the most highly lauded, globally recognized films of all time. As we go through the list, allow the pulsing waves of nostalgia and enjoyment to wash over. There will also be a special surprise waiting at the end for those who complete the quiz - a special actor for a lucky quiz taker.
So, what are we waiting for? Time to strap ourselves in - let's see what sort of rating these classic films deserve.
Rate Dr. Dolittle
A high rating for Dr. Dolittle means a high rating for his animal friends, too. And there sure are a lot of them - that's a lot of furry faces we'd disappoint with a bad one, and a few reptilian ones, too. Is Dr. Dolittle a good movie?
Rate The Matrix
We've broken through the code of the Matrix, and are beginning to unlock the real world. Of course, Neo is here to see if we're worthy enough to go through. But the real question is, how worthy is this movie?
Rate Suicide Squad
The Suicide Squad is here - an unlikely team of villains meant to save the world. How that ended up happening, you'll have to see the movie to know. But hopefully you did already, otherwise this would be hard to rate.
Rate Twilight
Twilight just might be the best supernatural romance of all time, though it's easy to disagree with that if you don't consider yourself a Twihard. Either way, take a look at these three icons, and give their movie a rating.
Rate Jumanji
The original Jumanji was such a huge hit, Dwayne Johnson himself decided to grace the screen as the star of its remake. Still, there's no remake conceivable that can touch the magic of the first - don't you agree?
Rate Saw
Anyone who's seen Saw, was probably just as horrified as we were by the on-screen monstrosities they were witnessing. It's better to be on this side of the screen than the other one, but just how much better, exactly?
Rate Star Wars Episode IV
The epic Star Wars series that we look back on today all started with this little feature - Star Wars Episode IV. If you're among the huge chunk of the world's movie fans that have seen this one, then your mind is probably made up.
Rate How to Train Your Dragon
Anyone who doesn't know how to train their dragon should probably watch this movie. If they still don't know how to train their dragon after that, it's probably because dragons aren't confirmed to exist in reality. At least we can watch the movie.
Rate Saving Private Ryan
Once upon a time, Private Ryan needed to be saved. Thankfully, there was a band of brave men ready to do just that. A tribe of movie lovers hold this film as sacred, rewatching it time and time again. Are you among them?
Rate A Walk to Remember
A Walk to Remember is one of the most memorable on screen romances of all time, for sure. What else would you expect with as formidable a force as Mandy Moore playing the lead? It's nothing short of brilliance, right?
Rate Monsters Inc.
Argh! We've just been scared by this horrifying monster. And just when we thought we would be ready for his ambush... we can't blame ole Sully for this though, since he's only doing his job. What do you think of his movie?
Rate The Da Vinci Code
The Da Vinci Code featured the most epic code of all, and we won't spoil it for anyone who has yet to see it. Everyone definitely should, since seeing this fantastic mystery get solved is an experience and a half.
Rate Hitch
Will Smith and Eva Mendes meet on screen in this classic rom com. With these two as the leads, you can bet that romantic shenanigans will ensue, though you might not guess how it all ends. What rating does this movie deserve?
Rate Pirates of the Caribbean
Johnny Depp and his band of merry men (and Keira Knightley) sail the Black Seas always in search of something, sometimes rum. Whatever they're looking for, the journey is always fun to watch. What do you think?
Rate Jurassic Park
Seeing a bunch of dinosaurs at an amusement park would be fun if there were no chance of them escaping. In any other case, though, we would pass, thank you very much. But we'll definitely watch the movie.
Rate Frozen
These two sisters are frozen side by side in the Disney and Hollywood halls of fame, until the foreseeable future at least. If you've seen their movie, you'll know exactly why so many people enjoy it. What rating does Frozen get?
Rate Titanic
If there's one on screen couple throughout Hollywood history who could be crowned king and queen, it's probably Jack and Rose played by Kate Winslet and Leonardo Dicaprio. Here they are, frozen in each other's gaze, super romantic.
Rate Avengers
If there's an other worldly or extra dimensional threat about to engulf Earth, don't lose hope so quickly - The Avengers are probably right around the corner, ready to save the day. Hopefully... anyway, this is a good movie.
Rate Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Harry Potter and his best friends go on the adventure of a lifetime in Sorcerer's Stone. A dark force lurks in Hogwarts castle, and it doesn't mind tormenting kids. If you've been in the world of witchcraft and wizardry, there's no going back.
Rate The Princess Diaries
An unlikely dame takes on the role destined for her in The Princess Diaries. Anne Hathaway underwent a complete transformation form beginning to end here, and the new her went on to feature in a sequel. What do you think?
Rate E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial
Here is E.T. and his friend, just going for a little flying bike trip. It's no big deal. When you're an alien, you can do those kinds of things. We might not be aliens, but maybe we still enjoy seeing this one on screen.
Rate The Lion King
Here is the king of all Disney movies - The Lion King. Who can forget Simba's adventures as he grows into a lion fit to rule. Of course, he wouldn't have learned much at all without the help of his friends. This movie is great, right?
Rate The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games features one of the greatest archers of all time - Katniss Everdeen, who gives Legolas a run for his money. Legolas aside, though, let's see what you think of Katniss and her feature film.
Rate The Devil Wears Prada
If there's a devil, she probably wears Prada - at least that's what this movie says. If you've seen it, you might have a better idea of what the title is referring to. Either way, let's see what rating this one will get.
Rate Night at the Museum
This security guard might think that he's just working another night shift at the museum, but boy is he wrong. This night in particular holds a bunch of surprises for Mr. Ben Stiller, and he might not be ready for what's coming.
Rate Meet the Fockers
Looks like Ben Stiller made his way through the inner tunnels of this quiz into Meet the Fockers, where a stern Robert De Niro returns once more to see if Ben is right for his daughter. Their clash is an epic one, for sure.
Rate The Sixth Sense
We might think that humans only have access to five senses, but there's a sixth one revealed in this movie. That might sound interesting, but trust us - you do not want this sense. Though that's probably common knowledge by now.
Rate Shrek
Shrek, Fiona and Donkey have shown up out of the blue to see what's going on in question 28. Give these guys a good rating if you love them, but be sure to click discretely if you don't. Let's not hurt poor Donkey's feelings.
Rate Pretty Woman
Pretty Woman is a rom com that transcends its genre, the dynamic between Richard Gere and Julia Roberts objectively enjoyable to watch. That's not the kind of thing most people disagree on, but you might.
Rate Transformers
If you want to see what a war between two armies of automobile robots from space looks like, watch Transformers. If nothing else, you'll enjoy the Michael Bay artistry - explosion upon explosion, all the way.
Rate Kung Fu Panda
In the mountains of China, a potentially world ending threat lies dormant, and it's only a matter of time before it's awakened. It'll take the most powerful animal martial artists in the country to take him out, including a kung fu panda.
Rate The Passion of the Christ
The Passion of the Christ tells an ancient, worldly tale for global audiences of the silver screen. It's been a while since this one was released, but its influence is undeniable, even after all this time. What do you think?
Rate La La Land
Ryan Reynolds and Emma Stone meet once again on the big screen to star in La La Land, a romance with a unique twist to it. If you haven't seen this recent blockbuster, you definitely should. Either way, what's the best button to click here?
Rate Django Unchained
Django is unchained and ready to play. Of course, his definition of "play" consists of getting revenge on those who have - severely - wronged him in the past. Thankfully, Christoph Waltz is here to help him out.
Rate The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
In The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, a very small person is given a mission not even the most tremendous of men can feasibly pull off. Does he end up succeeding? You'll have had to watch this epic trilogy to know for sure.
Rate Avatar
After Titanic dominated the #1 box office spot for years, Avatar came down in a blue blaze to dethrone it quite neatly. There's no way you're among the small minority who haven't seen this one, so what's your rating?
Rate Taken
In Taken, we get to see the extent a father will go to ensure that his daughter gets back home safe after being kidnapped. It's a gripping, dramatic tale, for sure, and an all time classic to boot. What do you think?
Rate Fifty Shades of Grey
Fifty Shades of Grey shows Mr. Grey in all his fifty shades, like them or not. This is definitely one of the more divisive titles in this quiz - usually, people either love it or they hate it. Let us know what you think with the click of a button.
Rate The Karate Kid
A young kid must channel all the spirit energy he can muster in order to become a true karate warrior. If he doesn't train hard enough, he might not make it through the epic showdown at the end of this movie. Is this a classic?
Rate The Mask
The Mask's jaw just dropped to the floor - perhaps a certain femme fatale played by Cameron Diaz has just stepped onto the stage. Starring Jim Carrey and the lovely Cameron, The Mask is definitely one for the shelf.
Rate Enchanted
Enchanted features one of the most whimsical tales in all of cinema - it's a modern classic of the fantasy genre, for sure. Though granted, it's definitely not a movie for everyone. If you're among its fans, let us know.
Rate Catch Me If You Can
We feel sorry for the poor soul who happens to be stuck with the job of catching a Leonardo DiCaprio who simply does not intend to get caught. It's Tom Hanks vs Leo in this one - what do you think of the movie?
Rate Rush Hour 2
Rush Hour 2 doesn't let up in terms of action, drama and comedy. All in all, it's one of the most enjoyable movie experiences anyone can hope for, unless the viewer isn't into this sort of thing. If they are, though, it's great.
Rate 101 Dalmatians
There are a lot of Dalmatians in this movie - at least 101 of them! That's great news - the bad news, however, is that a cruel woman is out to get them, and we shan't even say why. Let's see what you think of this Disney classic.
Rate The Proposal
The Proposal features a certain role reversal compared to the standard Hollywood rom com. Usually the man ends up chasing the woman, but here, Sandra Bullock is taking the hunt into her own hands. What do you think of this one?
Rate A Beautiful Mind
A Beautiful Mind features Russell Crowe going gracefully insane, his genius mind operating outside of his control. We won't spoil what happens here, but it's definitely worth a watch or two if you haven't done that already.
Rate The Fault In Our Stars
A recent classic, The Fault in Our Stars is based on John Green's best selling novel about a star cross'd couple whose time together looks like it might be cut short. It's a heartwarming tale, for sure, but it does take its toll.
Rate Liar Liar
Jim Carrey plays a liar and a half in this one. Being a lawyer and all, he often doesn't have much of a choice but to lie. Except in this movie, the choice is stripped from him entirely. What do you think of this 90's comedy?
Rate Vanilla Sky
While it's not as much of a household name as some of the other titles on here, Vanilla Sky is still a true 90's classic, for sure. What else would you expect when you put Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz in the same movie together? Nothing but fireworks.
Rate Stuart Little
Our furriest, tiniest little friend is here to close this quiz off, and he's dying to know your rating. He worked hard to star in his film, after all, so better not disappoint him. One last time, let's see what you think of this one.
