Rate These Harry Potter Characters To Be Matched With A Wizarding Profession

The writer J. K. Rowling first came up with the idea for her magical novel series when she was travelling on a train from Manchester to London back in 1990. She spent the next few years outlining the wizarding world and all of its peculiarities and then finally penning down the story. But believe it or not, initially no one was interested in publishing her first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (also known as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone).

Finally, in 1997, seven years after she had originally conceived the idea, the book was published and the world went mad for the bespectacled orphan boy who had no idea that he was a wizard until he received his acceptance letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Over the next few years more books were published and four years after the first book came out, in 2001, the first movie was released which immortalized the magical world with all of its unique and peculiar characters on the big screen.

This further popularized the story and before we knew it we were all sorting each other into the different Hogwarts houses and dreaming of our very own Hogwarts acceptance letter and later on of our very own magical career in the wizarding world.
