It has been said that fast food keeps the United States running. In this day and age, so fewer families are cooking at home because of the grab and go lifestyle. Kids have sports to get to and parents are frantic to get them there quickly. There is not any time after work and before sports start to make a quality meal, so fast food is where many families stop off. There are many fast food options out there and many meals to choose from, so it keeps the options fresher. You can get a veggie-friendly sub or you can get a meat-packed burger. You can get donuts, milkshakes, you name it and it is available.

Quarter Pounder
It is so simple that it is perfect. It is just a simple burger with onions, pickles, two slices of cheese, ketchup, and mustard. What more do you need? Did you know that this McDonalds classic actually adds up to be a quarter of a pound? Obviously, that is where it gets its name.
Whopper
The Whopper was Burger King's answer to McDonalds' Big Mac. It is probably their best seller on their menu because everyone knows what it is. It is simply a burger with lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles, on a sesame seed bun. It probably does not compare to the Big Mac, but it is still pretty famous.
Classic Chicken Burrito
El Pollo Loco's classic chicken burrito is easy to just gulp down by the mouthful. Add some sour cream and guacamole to the party and you are pretty set. This burrito is also pretty filling as well. El Pollo Loco is also known for their chicken, so the chicken is pretty darn good.
Buffalo Chicken Sandwich
Chick-Fil-A's Buffalo Chicken Sandwich is a classic to get when you want your chicken fix. It is all around a pretty simple sandwich with some bold flavors. Pair it with some of their delicious waffle fries and you are really set. Chick-Fil-A is known for their chicken, so you are in for a treat.
Nacho Fries
Who ever heard of such a thing? They are fries that are seasoned with nacho seasonings and dipped into nacho cheese. Now that is really cool. Typically, Taco Bell is not known for having fries, but these have been a really big hit. In fact, they took them away and brought them back.
2 Fish Combo
You get a bunch of fried food in this meal combo. You get two pieces of battered Alaskan white fish, fries, a choice of two sides, and hush puppies. Long John Silver's is known for their fish, so the fish in this meal is cooked pretty well, and is nice and crisp.
Bonafide Chicken
If you go to Popeyes, you have to order some of their chicken. heck it is what they are known for. Their Bonafide Chicken is what their menu is all about. This meal also comes with biscuits, a side, and a drink as well. You will definitely be coming back for more that is for sure.
Chicken fries
This is the second time an odd fry item has been on this list, but boy is it ever good. Like other menu items, this item has disappeared for a while but it came back with a vengeance and has not left the menu ever since. Pair this bad boy with a nice cold Coke and you are in business.
Berry Burst Chicken Salad
The Berry Burst Chicken Salad at Wendy's is a really great salad, but is not something that you typically see at a fast food restaurant—especially a burger place. It is a nice light option that offers berries and chicken on a bed of lettuce. You can still get a baked potato though!
Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger
Okay, there is not anything close to a vegetable on this thing...unless you count onion rings then maybe that would be somewhat of a vegetable maybe. There is bacon, cheese, onion rings, sauce, and a bun. This is basically a heart attack waiting to happen, but it is so good.
Carne Asada Burrito
Chipotle is known for their overstuffed burritos. In fact, you could almost share one of these bad boys with a friend they are so huge. What is so great about Chipotle is that you could design your own burrito as well. Pick your meat and all your fillings like guac, cheese, salsa, and more.
Veggie Delight Sub
Subway does a great job with their Veggie Delight Sub. Like Chipotle, you can also design it to be whatever you want it to be. If you do not like black olives, don't put them on. If you want extra jalapeños—do it. You can even add a veggie patty if you want to.
Mcrib
Yeah, there are rib sandwiches on fast food menus—of course there are. However, this one only rolls into town every now and then. You wonder why though because it is extremely popular. Whenever it comes to the McDonalds menu, it pretty much sells off the shelf.
Orange Chicken
Panda Express's Orange Chicken, is sweet and oh so delicious. The thing here is you have to have some fried rice or chow mein to go with it or it is just not the same. Also, you have to eat it with chop sticks, or it just seems wrong for some reason.
Double Double
In-N-Out is a fast food chain that exists on the West Coast, mostly in California. It is also super popular; you can never go there without a super long line to wait in. The Double Double is what it is all about though. You also have to get it animal style too, which means secret sauce, grilled onions and cheese.
Double Down
The Double Down is a sandwich that was created by KFC and it is basically a bacon and cheese sandwich that has fried chicken has the "bread slices." Yeah, super unhealthy, but also super good as well. Get a side of mashed potatoes or cole slaw with it and you are set.
Zaxby's Club
Zaxby's basically offers a club sandwich that you can grab on the go. It has everything you need for a great club, and it also adds fries as well. Zaxby's has a pretty diverse menu, so you can order a bunch of different items, but a club sandwich is not something you typically see to go.
Big Mac
Is there anything more iconic in the fast food world than the Big Mac? Probably not. It has two meat patties, three slices of bread, lettuce, cheese, special sauce. It is virtually perfect. You can also make it a combo meal and get fries and a drink with it as well. Now that is a meal.
Meatball Sub
Subway also offers a toasty Meatball Sub along with their cool, fresh veggie sub. This sub is probably its polar opposite though as it is comprised mostly of meat and cheese. You can also add other topping like bell pepper and onions on it as well though.
Reuben
Arby's is known for their meats. they have meaty sandwiches of all walks of life, and their Reuben is no exception. This meat-filled sandwich offers Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and sauces galore. It is also on some toasty bread as well, so it is a virtually perfect sandwich.
Pepperoni Pretzel
This is not just a pretzel, this is a Pepperoni Pretzel! Auntie Anne's has a ton of pretzels for all of your snacking needs, but this one is basically the king of all the pretzels because it has meat on it! get the right dipping sauce along with it and you really have yourself a solid meal.
Caramel PecanBon
Cinnabon has a bunch of cinnamon bun, and one of their classic buns is their Caramel PecanBon. Not to mention this is one of their famous buns that many customers love. You really have to watch out for their calorie and sugar count because these buns add up fast.
Root Beer Floats
A&W is clearly known for their root beer, but when you head to their restaurants, but you can order their Root Beer Floats when you head in as well. now that is something people go wild for. Order some fried chicken and fries with it and you are in business.
Kosher Style Hot Dog
Did you know that you could go to Five Guys Burgers and Fries and get hot dogs? Well you can, and you can load them up with all of the toppings that you would get with your burger too. You can also order a side of cajun style fries as well to really up your meal.
Smores Blizzard
Dairy Queen swears by their Blizzards. You can turn them upside down when they come out and they will not come out of the cup. how cool is that? You can get many different flavors, but the Smores Blizzard is one of the most popular of all the Blizzards.
Crunchwrap Supreme
It is kind of a cross between a burger and a taco in a way. it is Taco Bell's Crunchwrap Supreme. It has all the goodness of a taco like seasoned meat, nacho cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and a crunchy shell, wrapped inside of a soft shell. So yummy.
7-Layer Burrito
Believe it or not, this is actually a vegetarian burrito. Del Taco felt bad for the veggie folk and offered them a really awesome vegetarian option with this burrito. It has refried beans, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, cheese, cilantro, and a soft tortilla wrapped around it.
Classic Boneless Wings
Classic Boneless Wings are a huge seller at Wingstop. That is no surprise though because who does not come to Wingstop to order anything else but their wings? You can pick any sauce you want to flavor them up how you like it, than you can also get fries with them as well.
Baked Potato
Yes, you can get baked potatoes at a fast food restaurant. Wendy's offers baked potatoes that you can customize with all of the toppings you want. You can top it off with bacon, chives, sour cream, broccoli, or anything else that is at the salad bar.
Butterfly Shrimp
Yes, Popeyes is known for their fries chicken, but they also have some pretty good shrimp as well. It is Butterfly Shrimp to be exact. It is spiced up with all of the Southern spices, and you can pick any dipping sauce to go along with it along with one of their great sides.
Animal Style Fries
Okay, these aren't just any old run of the mill fries, these are Animal Style Fries, and they happen to be on In-N-Out's secret menu. People that live near and In-N_out seem to know they are up for grabs, but not everyone is up with the lingo. It is really good stuff though.
Gyro
Arby's also offers Gyros to those that want to get a little more ethnic with their cuisine. They also have three different types of Gyros as well. They have turkey, roast beer, and the traditional Greek. They are really great sandwiches considering Arby's is not a Greek restaurant.
Glazed Donut
Sometimes you just have to grab a Glazed Donut from Krispy Kreme. These are their top sellers although they have a ton of donuts to choose from. They have everything from cream and jelly filled donuts to the typical chocolate and glazed topped donuts.
Mushroom Chicken
You can go to Panda Express and get a whole different bunch of chicken and beef, but a healthier option is their Mushroom Chicken. It is packed with vegetables like mushrooms and zucchini, and not flavored with their super sugary sauces like their Orange Chicken is.
Six Dollar Burger
It is said that Carl's Jr Six Dollar Burger is made with better ingredients than a typical burger that is pumped out in a regular fast food kitchen. This burger is made with prime Angus beef and given all the fixings. Pair it with some of their awesome fries and maybe a milkshake.
