Food. It's kind of a big deal, and not just because we all need it in order to survive, but also because it's delicious. Food is more than a means of keeping hunger at bay, it's a temporary escape for the senses. It's a mini vacation for the mouth that allows us to take a break from reality, to forget about our troubles for a little while, just long enough to savor every bite. Or maybe we're the only ones who feel that way and we're just making a mountain out of a molehill, as per usual. Who knows?
Still, we're going to operate under the idea that everyone loves food, but as much as we love food, we don't always have time to cook, and this is the part where we really appreciate fast food. It's food..but, like...fast. Pretty neat, huh? Honestly, we get so busy sometimes! We don't know where we would be without places like McDonald's, Burger King and Chick-fil-A. We owe them so much. We're especially fond of their desserts. Know what else we're fond of? The Avengers! So we figured we'd combine those two things into this nifty quiz. Rate these fast food desserts, and we'll guess a favorite superhero!
McDonald's McFlurry
Each McDonald's McFlurry is made with soft serve ice cream, blended to creamy perfection with either Oreos or M&M's. We're completely unashamed to admit that we threw temper tantrums in the back of our mom's minivan every time we passed McDonald's after school, in the hopes that she would pull over and get one of these for us. It never worked, but at least we tried.
Dairy Queen Blizzard
One thing you need to know about Dairy Queen's Blizzard? It's thick. We're talking *super* thick, so thick you could hold your cup upside down and all that rich, ice creamy goodness would stay in the cup, completely un-bothered. These classic fast food desserts come in a variety of flavors, from Chocolate Xtreme to Royal New York Cheesecake, and they are all delicious.
Chick-fil-A's Frosted Lemonade
On a hot summery day, that cruel, unrelenting sun beating down on you, nothing quenches your thirst like an Frosted Lemonade from Chick-fil-A. A tantalizing combination of their delicious lemonade and their equally delicious homemade ice cream, from the very beginning, there was just no way this fast food dessert wasn't going to be a winner.
Popeyes' Pecan Pie
In the true spirit of Louisiana, Popeyes aims to give its customers a taste of the South with its pecan pie, and they definitely deliver. Hey, who said this dessert should be seasonal? With its flaky crust and buttery pecan goodness, this sweet treat is the perfect dish to follow up a fried chicken meal, and it deserves to stay here all year-round.
Long John Silver's Deep Fried Twinkies
It's high time deep fried carnival foods be treated with the same respect as other, more flashy desserts, and Long John Silver's is the first fast food joint that's been brave enough to stand up for deep fried rights. Sticking Deep Fried Twinkies on their dessert menu was hecka smart, because we'll order a deep fried sponge cake filled with cream after our meal of fish fingers and fries every time.
Panda Express' Fortune Cookies
Panda Express's Fortune Cookies may not be as "desserty" as some of the other desserts here. They're not as showy as McDonald's McFlurry, they're not as flashy as Panera's Coconut Macaroons, but, hey, who doesn't love a cookie that thinks it can predict the future? These little treats are sweet, even if they are a little stale, and each one is equipped with potentially life-changing advice. Kinda.
Dairy Queen Sundae
Sundaes have such a "let's grab a little something sweet to eat before we head down to the drive in" vibe, don't they? We love it. Sundaes really are such a classic dessert, and half their goodness comes from nostalgia alone. Dairy Queen makes one of the finest sundaes around, and they come with pineapple, strawberry, caramel and hot fudge toppings. Yum!
Burger King's Hersheys Sundae Pie
Huh. Funny, but we never knew that seeing the words "Hershey's" and "pie" in the same sentence could possibly make us so happy. This delicious creation has a chewy, chocolaty crust, a wonderful start, and it's filled with a whipped filling and an irresistible chocolate creme, then it's topped with Hershey bits and pieces. Stellar.
Taco Bell's Cinnamon Twists
Both twisty and cinnamony, Taco Bell's Cinnamon Twists hit all two of the marks it set up for itself. These things are so tasty. Fun little spirals of fried dough, lovingly tossed in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. What's not to love about these things? That's right. Nothing. It's all too easy to super-size an order of these desserts.
Wendy's Frostys
Frostys are like milkshakes, but also they're kind of not. See, these sweet, icy treats are so uniquely their own, they're hard to compare to any other dessert out there. Including classic flavors like chocolate and vanilla, Frostys are icy yet creamy yet light and airy all at once. Wendy's we don't know how you do it, but whatever you do, keep it up!
Papa John's Chocolate Chip Cookie
Unlike most chocolate chip cookies, which are dropped by the spoonful onto a baking sheet to cook, what makes Papa John's Chocolate Chip Cookie extra special is that it's cooked in the shape of a pie, baked and cut into slices. It may sound like a small thing, but that actually goes a long way when it comes to affecting the flavor. These treats are chocolaty, chewy and sweet.
Dairy Queen's Chocolate Dipped Cone
There's only one thing in the known universe that could possibly improve a Dairy Queen Cone. That thing? Chocolate. Together, there is literally nothing that these two can't do, there is no flavor craving that DQ's Chocolate Dipped Cone cannot satisfy. Sweet, cold, creamy. What a lovely summertime snack this dessert makes!
Chick-fil-A's Milkshakes
If you're looking for a old-fashioned, hand-spun, really, truly, bona fide classic milkshake, look no further than Chick-fil-A. With classic flavors including vanilla, strawberry and chocolate, these shakes come topped with a dollop of real whipped cream and, of course, a cherry on top. A visibly perfect milkshake in every respect, you should probably take a taste of it just to make sure it's alright.
Panera Bread's Double Fudge Brownie
Everybody likes to get more bang for their buck, that's why we appreciate Panera seeing fit to make their brownies with double the fudge, yet choosing not to charge us extra for it. Their Double Fudge Brownies are decadent and rich, and they're topped with an irresistible layer of icing. You *know* that cost a pretty penny, yet Panera chose to pass the savings on to us. So nice!
Carl's Jr.'s Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake
Has the word "decadent" ever been applied to a dessert more perfectly than the cheesecake? 'Cause we bet not. Carl's Junior's Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake is as pretty as it is fruity and delicious. In fact, it's almost too delicious. How're we supposed to limit ourselves to just one slice? Huh?! ANYBODY?!
Jack In The Box Chocolate Overload Cake
We're of the opinion that chocolate cake makes the world a better place, and apparently Jack In The Box agrees with us. Their Chocolate Overload Cake is aptly named. We're talking a chocolate cake with bits of bittersweet chocolate, and to top it all off, it's drizzled with chocolate buttercream. Oh...be still our beating, chocoholic heart.
McDonald's Apple Pie
McDonald's is practically the unofficial official fast food restaurant of the United States, so of course they have their own version of an iconically American dessert—the apple pie. McDonald's Apple Pies can be eaten with your hands, so there's no need for a pesky fork and knife, which is a good thing because the faster we can inhale these apple cinnamon pastries, the better.
Starbucks' Iced Lemon Pound Cake
It's hard to beat a hot cup of Starbucks coffee with a slice of their Iced Lemon Pound Cake. Decadent and rich, yet still light and fluffy, pound cake was pretty great all on its own. Toss the citrusy taste of lemon and a sugary icing into the mix, and you've got a treat so tasty, we'll put our life on the line for the last slice.
Subway's Cookies
When you hear "Subway" you think of sandwiches, but this fast food joint makes one of the best cookies around. We don't know what they put in them to make them so ooey, gooey and chewy, but it is *definitely* working. Flavors include chocolate chip, peanut butter, white chocolate macadamia nut and oatmeal raisin. We'll take one of each, thanks.
Panera Bread's Coconut Macaroons
*Drools* Oh, good, sweet, coconut gracious! Panera's Coconut Macaroons are the perfect size—just one or two bites, the perfect little indulgence—and they're so light and flaky and sweet, it's like tasting a piece of tropical heaven. And to make things even more perfecter, they're dipped in chocolate. It's like Panera can read our thoughts...
Sonic's Sundaes
Dairy Queen isn't the only fast food place to tackle sundaes. Sonic specializes in creamy frozen treats, too, so it comes as no surprise that sundaes make a guest appearance on their menu. Real ice cream with a hot fudge, caramel, strawberry or chocolate sauce, these sundaes come with a whipped topping and a maraschino cherry. Mmm, that's good eatin'!
Whataburger's Malts
Most fast food joints don't sell malts, and that's a shame. Unlike shakes, which are already pretty darn perfect, malts are a tad bit richer—and, really, isn't that something we're all after? Richer versions of milkshakes? Props to Whataburger for having the guts to produce a stellar selection of malts, from vanilla to chocolate to strawberry, these sweet treats are just about as good as it gets.

Dairy Queen's Dilly Bar is so stinkin' adorable, it's not even funny You're just an ice cream on a stick, why are you so precious? Well, we guess it's okay, Dilly Bar, since you're also so delicious. With your soft serve ice cream interior, and your chocolate, butterscotch or cherry exterior flavor options, you're so good, we can't stay mad at you!
Taco Bell's Caramel Apple Empanada
Taco Bell is a fast food joint that sells Mexican food (well, sorta), so it only makes sense that they would offer a real, authentic Mexican dessert (well, sorta), right? Taco Bell's Caramel Apple Empanadas are a dream to eat. Bits of crips apple nestled in a sea of sweet, sugary caramel wrapped up in a flaky pastry. Yum, for real, yo.
Arby's Turnovers
Turnovers? Oh, heck to the yes. Arby's, ya done good, kid. These desserts are every bit as flaky and pastry-y as the canned turnovers our grandma used to bake for us on Sunday mornings, and they're filled with a delicious fruity filling (either apple or cherry) and drizzled with a sugary icing. Sheer perfection.

Putting churros on the dessert menu was probably a no-brainer for the execs of this fast food chain. Jack In The Box's Churros are crunchy, flaky and oh, sooooo good. Dipped in cinnamon and sugar, what really makes these churros different is that they're mini. Cute *and* delicious? Where do we sign?!
Carl's Jr.'s Jolly Rancher Shake
Jolly Ranchers are too sour to be a milkshake flavor! We mean...aren't they? Actually, no, they're not. Turns out, Jolly Ranchers are perfect for turning into ice creamy drinks, and if Carl's Junior hadn't made the bold move to put a Jolly Rancher Shake on their dessert menu, we might all still be in the dark on this issue. Thanks, Carl's Junior, for opening our eyes to untold deliciousness. You're a pal!
Panera's Pecan Roll
We want everything to smell like Panera's Pecan Roll all of the time, every single day for the rest of our lives, is that really too much to ask? These tasty treats consist of a baked sweet dough, and they're filled with cinnamon and sugar, so, YUM. To add to that, these desserts are topped with caramel and pecans.
Starbucks' Cheese Danish
We like to imagine the pastry is a little pool and the sweet cheese filling is the water. That's the end of the little mental pastry/pool AU, though, because even more than daydreaming about these desserts, we enjoy eating them. So flaky. So warm. So. Freaking. Good. Honestly, how *do* they do it?!
Dunkin' Donuts' Apple Fritter
Apple Fritters in the hands of Dunkin' Donuts. We don't have anything in particular we wanted to add to that, we just thought that that notion alone is so nice and comforting we would throw it out there so that you, too, can ponder it. Fried, fruity and just the right amount of sweet, how could these puppies not be fantastic?
Dairy Queen's Funnel Cake
Ever want to enjoy the taste of a carnival without having to come into contact with carnies? Yeah, us too. Fortunately, Dairy Queen saw our need for carnival food sans weirdos and rose to the occasion! DQ's Funnel Cake is sprinkled with powdered sugar and drizzled with the flavored topping of your choice, each cake comes with a side of vanilla soft serve for your eating enjoyment!
