If there's one thing that DC never seems to run out of, it's awesome female characters. Some of the most iconic female superheroes (and supervillains, for that matter) of all time are from the DC franchise. Their impressive lineup includes Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Hawkgirl, Batgirl, Black Canary, Zatanna, and countless others.

In 1952, Phyllis Coates played Lois Lane in the television series Adventures of Superman. The Adventures of Superman was the first live-action television series based on a DC comic, but it certainly wasn't the last. In the 1960s Batman television series, Yvonne Craig portrayed Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl, while Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt split the role of Selina Kyle aka Catwoman. Lynda Carter became the first DC female superhero to have aher own live-action television show in 1975 when she portrayed Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, the titular character of the show.

Today, there are a lot more female characters to choose from in the DC live-action universe, especially since we have television shows like Arrow, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and The Flash and the films from the DC Extended Universe like Suicide Squad (2016), Wonder Woman (2017), and Justice League (2017) that all feature a plethora of beautiful ladies!
