Nicknamed 'The Master of Horror,' King is one of the world's most famous authors, having written an astounding 54 novels and over 200 short stories. His work is a blend of supernatural, horror, and fantasy themes and his books have sold more than 350 million copies worldwide. Many of his works have been adapted into feature films, miniseries, TV series, and even comic books.
As a child King witnessed one of his young friends being hit and killed by a speeding train and although he claims to have no recollection of the event many people have speculated that this traumatic incident may have inspired some of his darker works.
King's special power is that he takes ordinary, everyday things, like dogs, hotels, clowns, and cars and makes them scary. He seems to know exactly what strikes fear into our hearts and he's the master at bringing those fears to life.
