Food. It's kind of a big deal. Such a big deal, as a matter of fact, that we can't live without it. But, know what? Even if we could live without it, we wouldn't want to. Food gives life flavor, and we mean that both literally and figuratively. We mean, yeah, obviously there are plenty of other enjoyable things in life, like reading and playing video games and binge-watching TV shows, but as fun as all of that stuff is, none of it in any way acts as a decent substitute for the thrilling act that is eating.

From snacks to meals to desserts, there are plenty of opportunities to chow down on something delicious, but here's the thing. What's delicious for one person may not be for another. We've all got our own preferences when it comes to cuisine, which means we've all got our own hard opinions about what's good and what isn't. Sometimes, it's easy to tell what we would rather eat and what we would rather not. But other times, the decision making process? Well, it ain't so easy. Put those taste buds to the test! Regular Potato Chips or Ruffles?

Everybody loves regular potato chips, and we would wager a guess that everybody loves chips with ridges, too. After all, they make scooping up a whole lot of dip much easier, and that's what we're all about. Anyway, when it gets down to it, which of these two options would you prefer to have?

Spaghetti or Lasagna?

Both spaghetti and lasagna contain the same basic ingredients—well, for the most part, anyway. There's pasta, there's tomato sauce and cheese, there's usually some meat. But even though they both share much of the same stuff, the tastes of these two dishes are COMPLETELY different! Sure, they both taste great with a side of garlic bread, but which one to you like best?

Cake or Pie?

No birthday party would be complete without a nice, big cake. All that fluffy deliciousness topped with all that rich, sugary icing. How could you possibly resist that?! But, then again, when you want a slice of pie, no amount of cake will suffice. With plenty of fruit swimming around in a rich, sweet syrup, nestled between two buttery, flaky crusts, pie is tough to beat.

Maybe some people have enough natural energy to power through the day, but we sure don't. We've got to have a hot mug full of something in the morning to wake us up. A steaming cup of tea is just the ticket when it comes to to warming ourselves up, but a strong cup of coffee is a real eye opener. Which do you prefer?

Chocolate Chip or Sugar Cookies?

We hear the word "cookie" and we're immediately excited, whether that cookie is gingerbread, peanut butter or even oatmeal raisin. We're honestly just happy there will be cookies. But even so, we've still all got our druthers, so if you had to pick between one or the other, which of the following would you spring for, a chocolate chip cookie or a sugar cookie?

Pancakes or Waffles?

Pancakes and waffles are both breakfast items, and they're both made with basically the same stuff—flour, sugar, baking powder, you get the gist. But, it's funny, because even though these two seem like they should taste essentially the same, they really don't. Maybe it's the way waffles hold all that melted butter in place, or maybe it's the way pancakes absorb maple syrup. Either way, they're both delish, but which one wins?

Cornbread or Garlic Bread?

Oooh, now here's a decision that we would have trouble with. We mean, come on. Who doesn't love bread! Each bread has its own set of virtues, and likewise, each bread is completely free of downsides. But, when it comes down to it, would you rather enjoy a slice of cornbread, deliciously sweet and savory, or would you rather have some garlic bread, which has yet to let anyone down?

Hamburger or Cheeseburger?

Cheese is a powerful thing. One slice placed on the patty of a hamburger transforms that already delicious sandwich into another delicious sandwich altogether—the cheeseburger. Look, this sandwich is tasty either way, but cheese has a way of taking it to the next level. Question is, are you a fan of that next level, or nah?

Grilled Cheese or Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich?

Two classic sandwiches are going head to head, here. The peanut butter and jelly sandwich has the whole sweet and salty flavor pairing going on, and it has a way of satisfying our every craving. Then again, the grilled cheese can definitely hold its own. Melted slices of cheese between two pieces of bread, lightly fried in butter, this sandwich is just as delicious. Or, is it?

Hot dogs are the perfect snack for sports games, sports games and, of course, sports games. On the other hand, the corn dog is really more suited to your average county fair scenario, what with the fact that they're on a stick, and all. Both are delicious, but which one is more deliciouser? You decide.

When it comes to snacking, nothing beats hard pretzels. They're crunchy, they're salty, they're good for dipping in various sauces. They're great, but so, too, are soft pretzels, which can be served up sweet as well as salty. Ugh! Another tough decision, what is this, a round of "This or That"?! Oh, wait...

Decadent, creamy, rich and delicious, cheesecake combines two of our most favorite things in the whole wide world. But, as great as that dessert is, we can't neglect to mention the brownie's many, many pros. Whether you prefer the corner or center slices, the chocolatey, chewy, sweet as can be brownie is a treat worth smiling over, too.

Steak or Chicken?

Just to make things clear, we're not talking about chicken or steak in casseroles and other things, we're talking just as a main course. Like, if you went to a restaurant and looked at the menu, would you order the steak, or would you rather have a big slab of chicken? Now that we've established the ground rules—or, rule, we guess—go ahead and pick one.

For years, the debate has raged on—is stuffing the best side dish there is, or are mashed potatoes vastly superior? Appetizers are kind of a big deal because they're the food we eat when we're at our hangriest. They're the pre-meal snack that tides us over until our real meal can get to us. We love all appetizers, obvs, but when it comes to choosing between chips and dip or mozzarella sticks, well, consider us stumped.

Curly Fries or Tater Tots?

They're something special about curly fries, and we're not just talking about the fact that they're curly. These things are softer than your average fries, but instead of being soggy and mushy, they have a gentle crunch on the outside that makes them irresistible. At the same time, tater tots, though they're in no way comparable to fries, are just as crunchy on the outside, and just as tender on the inside, but the taste is a whole new experience.

We're glad you're the ones making the decisions, here, because frankly, we can't choose between the two.

We feel like this question doesn't just go towards determining your foodie score, it also helps people figure out who you are as a person. We mean, don't get us wrong, there is a time and a place for both ketchup and mustard, but at the same time, we've all already picked a side, and the side you've chosen says a lot about you.

Smoothies or Milkshakes?

Wow, this one's another tough call. We mean, have you ever had a milkshake? They're delicious, all creamy and rich and perfect, but we will say that they're definitely more of a dessert item. Smoothies, on the other hand, are often fruitier than milkshakes, and they're less filling, so they make a good snack or breakfast.

Now, these two may not seem that different. Cupcakes and cake pops are both cake, after all, but they're served up in totally different ways. Cake pops are more akin to chocolate truffles, coated in a thin layer of fondant, whereas cupcakes give you more icing bang for your dessert buck.
