Play The Price Is Right To See If You Could Win Big!

The Price is Right (TPIR) needs little introduction, being one of the most popular game shows on television for decades. Hosted for its first 45 years by the legendary Bob Barker, those hosting duties were taken over by Drew Carey in 2007 and he has had a successful 10-year run.

As its name suggests, The Price is Right is almost entirely based around playing various pricing games. Contestants can either win prizes outright by making correct pricing guesses, or win themselves more chances or better odds to achieve their objective, whether it be sinking a putt or choosing the winning rat in a race.

While some (or many) of TPIR's games may feel random and based largely on luck, there is actually quite a bit of game theory that can be studied to greatly improve one's chances of winning. We'll test your knowledge of game theory and mathematical odds in this quiz, in addition to many random, luck-based challenges.

Note that there is also a special 5-part question in this quiz that can lead to its own unique result, which is achieved by correctly guessing every digit in the price of a vehicle. So, are you ready to see if you have what it takes to win big on The Price is Right? Take the quiz and find out!

*Prices based on the MSRP of each item in USD.

**This is purely for fun, there will NOT be any winnings.

Question 1

Bid the Closest On Garmin Index Smart Scale Without Going Over

To win their way on stage, contestants must compete against up to 3 other players chosen at random from the audience. Their mission is to bid the closest on the selected item without going over. If they guess the price exactly, they get a bonus $500 prize. Likewise, the exact number for this item is among the options and choosing it will award bonus points.

Question 2

What's the First Digit in the Price of Alli 120 Capsule Refill Packs?

Alli is the only over-the-counter weight-loss supplement that is approved by the FDA. The pills work to combat weight gain by preventing the body from absorbing about 25% of the fats that are ingested, allowing a person to slash their caloric intake without any added effort. Interestingly, it's recommended to use Alli in conjunction with a low-fat diet, which seems somewhat counter-intuitive.

Question 3

Grocery Game: How Many Vicks VapoRub Could You Buy With $20?

There is something amazing about Vicks VapoRub when you're a kid and it gets slathered on you for the first time. It's as if a magic poultice conjured up by some mighty wizard was placed upon you. Actually, it still feels like that as an adult. No seriously, it's a wizard that makes them isn't it? Is it Gandalf?

Question 4

Most Expensive: Which Product Costs More?

TPIR often asks players to choose which product is the cheapest or most expensive out of a group of products. We're doing the same here, asking you which is more expensive out of NICORETTE Gum, which is a smoking cessation aid, and a copy of Alien: Quadrilogy on DVD, which includes all four movies in the acclaimed sci-fi series.

Question 5

Choose the First Digit in the Price of a 2017 Chevrolet Bolt

The first digit is typically the easiest one to get when playing TPIR's car-pricing games, being 1 more often than not. However, those are lower-budget standard cars, while this is the Chevrolet Bolt, Chevy's entrant into the competitive electric luxury small car market. With a range of 238 miles, it has more than enough juice to get most drivers through their daily commutes.

Question 6

Is $12 for a 28-Count Pack of HUGGIES OverNites the Now or Then Price?

Now or Then is a TPIR game in which players are shown an item and given a price for it. They must then choose whether the price is current or old (i.e. cheaper). This question uses a Size 3/28-Count pack of HUGGIES OverNites, which are designed to absorb all of your adorable little baby's toilet activities through his or her long, hopefully peaceful sleep.

Question 7

Which Range is This Product's Price Within?

This product is the Orbi WiFi System AC2200, a WiFi enhancement system that can deliver up to 2.2Gbps of WiFi speed throughout your home. The system can be set-up to work in conjunction with Amazon Echo/Alexa or Google Assistant to allow for voice operated control of your home network. We aren't exactly sure what commands need to be issued to a home network, but the option's there.

Question 8

You Were the First Contestant to Spin the Big Wheel and Got $0.75. Spin Again or Stay?

A person's success on the big wheel is vital if they're to get a chance at the Showcase Showdown and TPIR's biggest prize hauls. While the results of the spins may be random, a player's strategy should already be planned in advance, including at what number they will stay on based on their position and/or the other players' spins. Is $0.75 a good spin to stop on if you're the first to crank the wheel?

Question 9

Safe Crackers: Choose the Correct Price Combination for a Weslo Pursuit G 2.8 Exercise Bike

Safe Crackers gives players three digits which they must arrange into the price of the displayed item, in whatever order they choose (there's six possible choices). We're making this game authentic to the real one, as we're giving you every possible choice among the numbers 1, 2, and 9, the three digits which make up the price of the Weslo Pursuit G 2.8 Exercise Bike.

Question 10

Choose the Second Digit in the Price of a 2017 Chevrolet Bolt

The second digit is probably the second-easiest digit to guess, assuming you have relatively decent knowledge of car prices. TPIR will generally space the possible numbers out so that players have slightly better odds of narrowing in on the correct number. After this, things take a turn for the nearly impossible.

Question 11

Step Up: Pick the Least Expensive Product

This challenge features a Franklin Sports 48" Foosball Table against a Natural Hand Carved Himalayan Salt Lamp. Foosball is a dorm room favorite, despite being inferior in every way to bubble hockey (there, we said it). The Natural Hand Carved Himalayan Salt Lamp is an impressive-looking light source for any room in which a regular old lamp just won't cut it.

Question 12

Then or Now: $399 for a PlayStation VR Headset

Sony's VR headset for the PlayStation 4 Pro was released on October 13, 2016. The current year looks like it will be a big one for the device, with Sony claiming that more than 130 games will be released for it. PSVR has sold over 2 million devices, which has given Sony hope that some of the other 68 million PS4 owners may eventually pick it up as well.

Question 13

Side by Side: Choose the Correct Price

In Side by Side, players have a 50/50 chance to win the prize by choosing which set of two numbers is the first and which set is the second in the four-digit price of a product. In this case, that product is the 2018 Yamaha Phazer X-TX snowmobile, and the two pairs of numbers are 50 and 93.

Question 14

Magic #: Pick A Number That Is Between the Prices of These Two Products

If you watch a lot of TV, you've doubtless seen the infomercials for one or both of these products. The Grab It Ratcheting Tool grabs things for you. High things, low things, in-between things, just point and grab. You could even grab a Grab It! We could go on, but we won't. Secondly is the Star Shower Slide Show, which bathes the outside of your home in bright, garish light depicting the imagery of various holidays.

Question 15

Choose the Third Digit in the Price of a 2017 Chevrolet Bolt

The middle digit is where things start to get a little more random. Without already having a good idea of the price of the vehicle, there's really no way to know which number it could be, other than to turn to odds. 5 is probably the most common third digit, and low numbers seem to be more popular in this spot than high numbers.

Question 16

Squeeze Play: Choose the Right Price for the Samsung 49" Class MU8000 4K UHD TV

In Squeeze Play, players are given a five-digit number and tasked with removing one of the middle three numbers to create a new, four-digit number that matches the price of a selected product. In this case, that number was $15199, among which is the price of the Samsung 49" Class MU8000 4K UHD TV.

Question 17

Bullseye: Buy XL Hershey's Almond Bars That Total Between $10-$12

In Bullseye, players try to purchase enough grocery products to push their total to between $10 and $12. Up for our players' purchasing pleasure in this question are some extra large Hershey's milk chocolate bars with almonds. They're labeled as Kosher, which means...hmm, really backed our ignorant selves into a corner on this one. Uhh...haha...oops.

Question 18

Check Out: Be Within $2 of the Price of This Item

Check Out scans players on their total pricing action when it comes to five items, rather than on each one individually. If they're within $2 of the total, they win. We'll only make you get within $2 on one item for this question. That item is a 20-ounce bottle of Raid Ant & Roach Killer 26.

Question 19

Is This Item More or Less Than $7?

More or Less is another one of TPIR's simple 50/50 proposition games, though with a twist: as long as the players keep guessing right, they can even win a car. The player is offered up to four different products and a price for them. They must decide if the actual price of the item is more or less than the incorrect price. In this case, we want to know if the price of 1 pound of Dunkin' Donuts Original Blend Ground Coffee is more or less than $7.

Question 20

Choose the Fourth Digit in the Price of a 2017 Chevrolet Bolt

The fourth digit in the price of a car is probably the hardest to guess, as it's largely the most random. While the third and fifth digits have some numbers that more commonly appear in those spots, the fourth digit is basically a giant crapshoot, as cars don't typically end in the "99" pricing that is so common with other products.

Question 21

Write a Check for an Amount That Will Total $7,000 to $8,000 When Including The Price of This Item

The Check Game is a great game if for no other reason than it features those giant, novelty checks, which are awesome. Players must hit a total of between $7,000 and $8,000 to win the prize, which includes the price of the prize and the check amount that they write out. The product that has to be factored into your check amount is the Miabella 1 Carat T.W. Princess Cut Diamond Solitaire Ring in 14kt Yellow Gold, which is sold exclusively through Walmart. As an example, if you think the ring is worth $2,000, you would need to write a check for between $5,000 and $6,000 to reach the required $7,000-$8,000 range.

Question 22

One Away: Choose the Correct Price for an 8GB Kindle Oasis E-reader

In One Away, the final four digits in the price of a car are each one number away from being correct, either up or down. In this version, we're going to simplify it by making only one digit incorrect, that being the second digit in the price of a Kindle Oasis E-reader with 8GB of storage. We have the price listed as $239. What's the actual price?

Question 23

You're the Second Contestant to Spin the Big Wheel and Take the Lead with $0.60. Spin Again or Stay?

In this second Big Wheel scenario, you've already beaten the first contestant's spins, which increases the likelihood that your score will not be beaten. Is $0.60 good enough to beat one player according to the odds, or are you better off spinning again to try for a higher score, at the risk of going over 100 and being eliminated?

Question 24

Cliff Hangers: Be Within $25 of the Price of This Item

No TPIR quiz would be complete without a variation of Cliff Hangers, the most amazing game ever that isn't named Plinko. In it, players must be within $25 on the prices of three small items to win them all, as well as a grand prize. If they aren't, they must watch a mountain climber fall off the 25-rung peak to the sadness, misery and regret of all. For this question, we only ask you that you be within $25 of the price of one item: the Oral-B BLACK 7000 SmartSeries Power Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush with Bluetooth Connectivity Powered by Braun. What a mouthful.

Question 25

Choose the Fifth Digit in the Price of a 2017 Chevrolet Bolt

For the final digit, the player must again turn to the odds of certain digits appearing in that position. 0, 5, and 9 are the most common final digits, making them solid choices, with 9 probably being the most common. However, some annoying vehicles that apparently don't want to be won will have a random final digit, like 7.
