Play Fill In The Blank! 2000s Movie Edition

Trivia! Who doesn't love trivia?! And movie trivia at that! What more can you say? Movies wouldn't be movies if it weren't for the dialogue. That's where the story truly begins; it starts as an idea in the writer's mind. Then the words begin to form and are put down onto paper. After days, maybe weeks, or months of writing ... the script is finally complete. The story has officially been told; from beginning to middle to end. Characters have been fleshed out now and are about to come to life. Because the next step is the director reading and then approving the script. Before you know it, people are being cast for specific roles, locations are being scouted out and sets are being assembled! Wow! What a truly awesome process; from sheets of paper to the silver screen. That must be why they call Hollywood "The Dream Factory." And, that's what brings us to this quiz. It's all about the dialogue. How closely did the viewer pay attention? What were those particular words or phrases that the actors made so memorable when they spoke them? All that's required for this quiz is to simply fill in the blanks! That's it. It's just that easy. Not to mention the fact that it's multiple choice! So start scrolling, check out the choices, but most of all ... have fun!

Question 1

"One ring to rule them _____."

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - The message is pretty much in the title. It's a movie about fellowship and about friendship. It's not just about knowing the right thing to do; it's about being able to make the choice and to stick with it. It's a passage. It's about friendship and dedication. Frodo is fortunate enough to have his friends, his true friends, there with him. It's their support and encouragement that helps to give him the strength he needs to see things through.

Question 2

"Fish are our friends, not _____."

Finding Nemo - It's not like he did it on purpose. Nemo's just a kid. And, what kid doesn't feel the need to rebel against their parents at some point. At least once. Only this once ... he got caught. Well, caught in a net. Caught in a net then into the boat, and then into the aquarium. But, that's when things started to turn around. At least a little bit, anyway. There were new friends there. Friends who were ready and willing to help him get home and get back to his dad.

Question 3

"I'm Ron by the way, Ron _____."

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - Rarely has there ever been a better group of friends. Or, a better group of wizards for that matter. Unfortunately, poor Harry never asked for any of this. Granted, if it weren't for the evil and the dark magic, perhaps he'd never have ended up where he did. Or, perhaps he'd have never met the extraordinary people who helped to shape his life. Harry Potter is one of those great on-screen personifications of what it means to fight for what's right, at any cost.

Question 4

" Yeah, I can _____."

Iron Man - Tony Stark's story was pretty much the genesis of the Marvel Cinematic Universe; at least for the 21st century anyway. Like most heroes, Iron Man was born out of a necessity. Sadly, it took a tragic life experience for Tony to see what truly needed to be done. After finding out that his company's military funding and military armaments were being sold to the bad guys as well as the good guys, that was when Stark finally saw what he had to do.

Question 5

"You got into Harvard Law?" "What? Like it's _____?"

"Who wants to be a _____?"

Slumdog Millionaire - What a unique story, and what a unique way to tell it?! "Slumdog Millionaire" was not only a tale of struggle and of triumph, but a wonderfully told love story as well. Question 7

"We can stay up late, swapping manly stories, and in the morning, I'm making _____!"

Shrek - Who of us out there didn't instantly fall in love with the title character of this movie. Right from the beginning, "Shrek" is such an awesome new twist on the whole idea of a fairy tale and how it's told. The other key players are just as charming and so is the story. Some would even argue that Donkey practically steals the attention away from our main character half of the time. And, Princess Fiona has absolutely no problem holding her own in the spotlight alongside the other two.

Question 8

"Can't you just be a _____ neighborhood Spider-Man?"

Spider-Man: Homecoming - Comic book heroes come in all kinds of shapes and sizes (obviously). But each one is different and each one is unique. That's part of what makes them so likeable and part of the reason we want to cheer for them. It's not just that they're here to save us and to protect us; they're here to inspire us and to encourage us. On a more cinematic note, they're also here to entertain us. Sometimes it's nice to let someone else right the wrongs for a while.

Cars - There really aren't that many of us out there anymore who would think of a leisurely drive along ol' Route 66. Maybe that's the problem; maybe we should. McQueen never gave it a second thought, but things sure got a lot better once he learned to just slow down for a while and take his time or 'smell the roses' if you will. Sometimes that's just what any of us need. Some friends (maybe new friends) to help us see the things we're missing.

Question 11

" ... images glimpsed through this _____ telescope."

Thor - Thor is a whole other kind of hero all his own. Having come from Norse mythology, to begin with, one could argue that his legend has been around a bit longer than any of the other Marvel heroes have. And we love him for it!

Question 12

"I can do this _____."

Captain America - Captain America is another great adaptation of the proverbial "little guy," determined to stand up to the proverbial "big guy." The difference is, Steve Rogers eventually gets a chance to be the big guy. Then again, maybe that's what makes him such a great hero and maybe that's part of what makes it such a great story. Because this is what Superman does. He fights for us. He lives to save the day. And he's the best at what he does.

Question 14

"I have an army." "We have a _____."

The Avengers - If they can't save our planet, they'll darn sure avenge it. Well, that's what they do. Isn't it? They are the AVENGERS after all. Marvel absolutely hit the jackpot with this culmination of superheroes who had been previously holding their own in their solo films. The coming together of these four, main characters were beautifully crafted and extraordinarily produced by all parties that were involved. Amazingly, no one's role overshadowed any others and the final product was cinematic gold!

"McAvoy or _____? These timelines can get so confusing."

Deadpool - Okay, so this is one of those films where the term, 'superhero' may get a little stretched or maybe just a tad distorted, but, it still makes for a great movie! Wade Wilson is definitely a guy who operates on the shady side of the law, there's no doubt about that. But, like so many others, it takes a great loss in his life for him to start doing the right thing. How he achieves 'the right thing,' now that's a whole other story.

Question 16

"My name's _____. Great name, I know ... but, it's not the worst."

Well, maybe not right from the beginning, but certainly for the majority of the movie. It's the time (and the land) of Vikings and Viking ships. Yes, and dragons, too. So, what would you expect?
