Plan A Wedding And We'll Reveal Your Soulmate's Sign

They say that one’s wedding day is the most important day in one’s life. In a way, that makes perfect sense. After all, when a person gets married he or she is making a lifelong commitment to another person. More often than not this means that he or she has found his or her soul mate, best friend and partner in crime.

Perhaps because of this, most girls start planning their special day when they are still mere children. Of course, with time the plans that they make change and morph into something else. The princess-like white dress that we might have dreamed of when we were six might no longer be our dream bridal outfit when we grow up. Indeed, when the big day comes we might decide to opt for an edgy mini white dress instead.

Still, regardless of all the plans that we make, organizing a wedding is no joke. It can be quite stressful. One needs to think not only of things such as finding the perfect bridal dress and choosing the ideal wedding cake, but also of things that are slightly less fun, such as catering and entertainment. As such, before we actually start planning a wedding – not hypothetically but in all seriousness – it is a good idea to make sure that the man we have said “yes” to is really the man of our dreams!

Question 1

Pick a ring.

Before a wedding ceremony takes place, and indeed, even before a wedding can be planned, someone needs to propose. Traditionally, men propose to women. Pretty much every girl dreams of the day that her boyfriend will kneel in front of her, with a beautiful ring in his hands. Of course, girls who think that gender stereotypes and traditional societal values are ridiculous might opt to propose to their boyfriends instead. And of course, some couples might decide to get married after having a long discussion, without anyone proposing.

Question 2

Pick a season.

The season that a couple decides to get married in will depend on a number of factors, including their own personal preferences. For example, some couples might want to get married in summer, when the days are long and when it is pretty warm. Others might like the idea of getting married in fall, when the leaves are changing color and when everything around them seems to signify a serious change. Others might like the idea of getting hitched in spring, when everything around them is coming alive. And finally, still others might think that there is nothing more romantic than getting married in the middle of a snowstorm.

Question 3

Pick a venue.

Most people have a good idea as to where they want their wedding ceremony to take place. The wedding venue will of course depend on not only on the couple’s preferences but also on what’s available. For example, couples that are religious will of course want to have their wedding ceremony in the church (but will then have to move to a different location for the wedding reception, which might be a bit of a hassle). Others might want to have their ceremony in the city hall whereas still others might opt for locations such as beaches or hotels.

Question 4

Pick a theme.

Choosing a wedding theme is not at all necessary. However, most people will probably agree that a theme can simplify matters greatly. More often than not having a theme makes it easier to plan everything else, hence why so many couples end up choosing one, even if the theme is something as broad and as simple as “romantic” or “minimalist”. Of course, one can also go for more elaborate themes such as “Harry Potter” or even “Star Wars”. Choose the theme that you like the most from the four options below.

Question 5

How many guests will be invited?

Some people want their wedding day to be as private as possible. As such, these people will invite only a few guests to their wedding celebration, mainly their family members and their closest friends. Others on the other hand want to share their celebration with as many people as possible. They will invite not only their family and friends but also acquaintances and even people they haven’t seen in years. How about you, do you want your big day to be a small, private event or a huge celebration?

Question 6

Pick a celebrity guest.

Some people are incredibly private individuals who want their wedding ceremony and wedding reception to be attended only by those closest to them. However, most of us wouldn’t mind if a celebrity guest was to stop by. For most of us, that would probably make our big day even more special. Everyone has their favorite celebrity and unfortunately, it is not possible to name them all here. Indeed, we only have room for four. So go ahead and choose the celebrity from the four options below that would delight you to the most if they were to stop by your wedding.

Question 7

Pick a dress.

Most girls will probably agree that when it comes to planning a wedding, nothing is more important than finding the perfect dress. Choosing the ideal bridal gown might sound simple in theory but in actual fact it is anything but. After all, there are so many outfits that one can choose from. Indeed, before any decisions can be made the bride-to-be needs to decide whether she wants to go for a traditional bridal outfit – think a white, princess-like dress – or for something less conventional, such as a bridal playsuit or even a non-white dress.

Question 8

Pick the shoes.

The type of shoes that a bride will opt for will depend not only on her personality but also on the location of the ceremony as well as on her overall outfit. For example, brides that value comfort above all will probably opt for sneakers. Brides that want to be comfortable but also look put-together will more than likely go for flats. Brides that want to look glamorous on their big day will of course reach for heels. Brides that are getting married in summer or on the beach will more than likely choose to wear sandals.

Question 9

Pick a hairstyle.

Most brides spend hours upon hours deciding on the type of hairstyle that they should go for on their big day. After all, hair can make a huge difference to one’s appearance so it is important to explore all options and choose one that would suit the most. The type of hairstyle that a bride will opt for will depend not only on the length and thickness of her hair but also on her face shape, the overall outfit and even the location (for example, wearing one’s hair down on a windy beach might not be the best idea).

Question 10

Pick a hair accessory.

Now that you have chosen the ideal hairstyle it is time to have a look at hair accessories. Of course, it is not at all necessary to go for hair accessories if you don’t feel like it. Indeed, depending on what you are wearing they might even detract from your overall outfit as opposed to add to it. Still, there are so many gorgeous bridal hair accessories out there that it is almost impossible to resist them. Choose one of the four options available below.

Question 11

Pick an accessory.

Some girls love accessories whereas others dislike them. Those who love to accessorize will of course also want to do so on their big day. One has to be careful about accessorizing a bridal outfit. You want the overall look to be tasteful and elegant, not ridiculous and flashy. When in doubt, always go for less as opposed to more. So, which one of the below four options – delicate earrings, a statement necklace, an arm cuff or an ankle bracelet - would you go for?

Question 12

Yes or no to a wedding veil?

Those who want a truly traditional wedding often opt to wear a veil. After all, what could be more traditional that a wedding veil? There’s no harm in that either – veils can be incredibly beautiful and can seriously enhance an outfit. Of course, few people actually know about the history of wedding veils. For example, according to Vintage News, back in Roman times, brides wore veils in an effort to protect themselves against malicious spirits. Most of us don’t believe in spirits today hence why more and more modern brides opt to forego bridal veils.

Question 13

Pick a makeup look.

While some brides are more than happy to get married makeup-free, most brides can’t imagine walking down the aisle without wearing foundation or even lipstick. As such, most brides plan their makeup look in advance. Of course, one’s makeup look has to compliment the overall outfit. Quite a few brides go for natural looking makeup – they don’t want anything to take away from the dress (but they do want to hide small imperfections such as pimples or wrinkles). Others however opt for glamorous makeup looks. After all, why be neutral on your big day?

Question 14

Pick the manicure.

Only too often brides spend weeks or even months searching for the perfect dress and shoes and hours upon hours getting their hair and makeup done to completely neglect their manicure. While one’s nails might not seem like a big deal – who is going to be looking at them when one is wearing a stunning princess-like dress – it is nonetheless important to take care of them too. Sure, they might not be the first thing that everyone will notice, but a nice manicure will finish off one’s look nicely.

Question 15

Pick the flowers for the bridal bouquet.

No bridal outfit would be complete without a flower bouquet. Indeed, it is probably fair to say that there isn’t a single bride in the world that could even imagine walking down the aisle without a flower bouquet. What would you even do with your hands? Which of the below four flower options – lilies, roses, sunflowers or wildflowers – seems the most ideal to you?

Question 16

What will the bridesmaids wear?

Some brides don’t want to leave anything to chance on their big day and as such they plan every single, minute detail, including the outfits of their bridesmaids, in advance. More often than not, the bridesmaids are forced to wear matching dresses. If they’re lucky, the dresses might look decent but they could also look kind of bad (and that’s not to say that the bride has bad taste – very often the dresses are chosen with a theme in mind). Other brides on the other hand don’t care in the slightest as to what their guests – and their bridesmaids – wear. Which bride are you?

Question 17

Pick the groom’s outfit.

While most girls spend what seems like forever choosing the ideal dress for their big day, most guys don’t really care what they wear at the wedding ceremony and later at the wedding reception. Still, they do nonetheless prefer certain outfits to others. For example, some men think that a black suit is the only fitting outfit to wear at a wedding. Others prefer to go for a white suit instead. Some men dislike formal clothes and as such opt for suit pants and a shirt instead. And still others think that one should be comfortable on their wedding day and as such see nothing wrong in donning jeans and a sweater.

Question 18

What will the groomsmen wear?

Let’s be honest – few grooms care as to what their groomsmen wear. Brides on the other hand are a little more thoughtful. Brides who insist that their bridesmaids wear dresses or outfits that she herself picked out will more likely than not will also insist that the groomsmen wear something very particular too. It is easy to see the logic behind this – choosing everyone’s outfits (or at least the outfits of the most important guests!) makes the wedding ceremony look that much more put-together and aesthetically pleasing.

Question 19

Registry or cash?

At the wedding reception it is customary to present the bride and the groom with a gift as a way of congratulating them on finally making the commitment. Anyone who has ever attended a wedding probably knows that it can be incredibly difficult to know what to get the bride and the groom. As a result, most couples decide to either go with a gift registry or cash. Out of the two, a gift registry is certainly the more tactful option but there is no denying that cash is more convenient.

Question 20

How much will it cost?

Before you start planning a wedding it is always a good idea to set a budget. Most of us associate weddings with opulent and splendid celebrations. However, a wedding celebration does not necessarily have to be extravagant. Question 21

Who will help with the planning?

They say that your wedding day is the happiest day of your life. However, planning for that special day is certainly not easy. Indeed, the planning process can be incredibly stressful and at times might even lead to serious arguments between the two partners who are about to tie the knot. As such, it is always a good idea to get someone else to help with the planning process, whether it is a professional wedding planner, a family member or a friend.

Question 22

Yes or no to a bouquet throw?

For some brides, a bouquet throw is a vital part of a wedding ceremony. But few realize that this tradition has been around for centuries and even fewer know of its origins. According to Metro, back in the day it was considered good luck to touch the bride and even better luck to get a piece of her, either in the form of her veil or her wedding dress. As such, in an effort to distract the guests from tearing at her outfit, the bride would throw her bouquet of flowers at them, and make her escape in the meantime. This tradition has stuck even though none of us would nowadays be so uncivilized as to try and grab at the bride.

Question 23

Pick the transport.

If you’ve ever wanted to ride in a ridiculously white limousine or inside a horse-drawn carriage, you can finally do so on your wedding day. When the wedding ceremony is over, the wedding couple often rides to the wedding reception (if the two are not held in the same location of course) in hired transport. As already mentioned, some couples opt for limos while others go for horse-drawn carriages. Still others might decide to rent a vintage car instead. And for those who like to live their life on the edge? There is nothing like speeding away on a motorbike!

Question 24

Pick the entertainment.

When planning a wedding it is easy to remember the big things – such as the venue and the food – and forget the smaller things, such as entertainment. But unless you want your wedding reception to be incredibly quiet and awkward, it is vital to look at the various entertainment options available. Most popular wedding entertainment options include live bands, choirs, and DJ’s. Of course, if your budget is on the smaller side or if you simply don’t want the hassle of arranging live entertainment you can always opt for prerecorded music instead.

Question 25

Pick a table centerpiece.

Pick the appetizer.

Let’s be honest – when most of us attend a wedding reception we expect to be treated to plenty of delicious food. And when it comes to food, most of us can’t resist appetizers. There is something about appetizers that makes them incredibly tempting. It must be their small size and the fact that they are jam-packed with deliciousness. They are fun and filling. We always tell ourselves that we will have one or two appetizers but of course we always exceed that number.

Question 28

Pick the main meal.

Choosing the main meal that should be served at a wedding reception can be quite stressful. After all, the main meal should be delicious and filling. Most importantly, it should suit everyone’s taste. That is why it is a good idea to ask your guests beforehand if they have any food allergies or if any of them are vegetarian or vegan. Ideally, you would want to serve a few main meals or at the very least, give your guests a few options. But if you had to choose just one, which of the below four main meal options would you go for?

Question 29

Pick the cake.

You can’t have a wedding without a proper wedding cake. Most couples take their wedding cake very seriously, especially if it’s the only dessert they’ll be serving at the reception. As such, they go to cake tastings and try out numerous cakes before they finally make their decision. Of course, it is not only the flavor of the cake that matters – you also want it to look good too, hence why most cakes are large (usually two or three tiers, if not more).

Question 30

Pick another dessert.

We’ve already mentioned that you can’t really have a wedding without a wedding cake. And while the wedding cake is without doubt at the center of attention when it comes to serving dessert, it is always a good idea to have a few other dessert options too. After all, one can never have too many sweet treats. Plus, dessert tables always look incredibly aesthetically pleasing so in a way they are part of the decor too. So, which one of the below four desserts would you go for?

Question 31

Pick a signature drink.

More often than not the signature drink that is chosen ties in with the overall theme of the wedding celebration. A signature drink will not only make it seem like your wedding reception has been thoroughly thought out – it might also give your guests something to talk about (which is always great if some of the guests that are attending don’t know each other).

Question 32

What’s the groom like?

Most girls start planning their wedding day when they are still little girls. However, that does not mean that they will say “yes” to just anyone. Indeed, before we go ahead and commit to just one person for the rest of our lives we must be sure that he is “the one”. Our future partner should not only be our soul mate but also our best friend. He should possess all the qualities that we admire most in people, such as reliability, good humor, optimism and intelligence.

Question 33

What’s the ideal age to get married at?

There is, of course, no ideal age to get married at. We should get married when we are ready and when we meet the person that we know is right for us. However, when most of us dream of our special day we do see ourselves at a certain age, whether that is 25 years old or 35 years old (or even older). At what age would you ideally like to get married at, if you were given the choice?

Question 34

Pick the wedding favors.

It is customary to thank one’s wedding guests for coming (and for bringing gifts!) by giving them wedding favors upon parting. Wedding favors are small gifts that are a perfect way to let your guests know that you appreciate them and their friendship. Wedding favors are usually quite inexpensive. Think things such as coffee beans or handmade soaps. Wedding favors can be either purchased in store or made at home. They are usually inscribed with the wedding couple’s initials and the date of the wedding ceremony and as such make perfect keepsakes.

Question 35

Pick a honeymoon destination.

More often than not when the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception are over, the couple takes off on their honeymoon. Sometimes they might leave straight away, other times they might wait until the morning to go on their first adventure as a married couple. The honeymoon destination that the couple opts for of course depends entirely on their own personal preferences. For example, if the couple loves urban environments they might opt to go to a big and busy European city. If, on the other hand, they want to get away from everything they might choose a far away exotic destination.
