15Trends and tropes come and go in society, and it would be fair to say that two of the defining trends in modern entertainment have been vampires and zombies. We've added them to everything in the past couple of decades. All we can really take from this is that, as a species, we've become more obsessed with the concept of the undead and immortality than we have been. Sure, vampires and zombies have existed for decades, but we only started to put them into everything in the recent years. We decided that it would be fun to make a quiz about one of them for you.

Vampires really hit the mainstream when the Twilight books were turned into films, and since then, they've gone from being a tween obsession into a genuine narrative choice for anybody creating a film, book or television show. We've got together some of the best vampire characters out there and we want you to pick your favorites. With this information, we'll tell you which famous vampire character you would be! Mark the from 1 to 4, 1 being the best and 4 being the worst.

Edward Cullen

The heartthrob vampire who started off the cultural obsession, Edward Cullen is in love with a human woman, which obviously isn't easy if you all you can think about is draining her of her blood. He may be a little bit serious, but his heart is always in the right place.

Damon Salvatore

Damon is one of the most dangerous types of vampires, as he incredibly attractive, charming to a fault and is able to go from playful to deadly within seconds. You do not want to find yourself on the wrong side of this guy, but it certainly can be entertaining to watch him.

Bella Cullen

This character wasn't introduced to us initially as a vampire. We watched her love story unfold and then we watched her die, and wake up to becoming a vampire. Edward turned her when she gave birth to their hybrid baby and she couldn't survive the birth. He couldn't imagine life without her so he turned her right in the nick of time.

While he may have started out as a ruthless vampire, Angel has been cursed with a human soul. He is tormented by the things he has done in the past, which is why he finds himself helping Buffy, despite the fact that her destiny is to help fight back the vampiric hordes.

When The Original family got their spinoff TV show Marcel was one of the first new characters introduced. He had taken over the reign of New Orleans in Klaus' absence and resented him for leaving. Klaus sired Marcel which made their bond complicated and very emotional.

This woman will not back down from anything, and if you're the sort of vampire that wants to live a hedonistic lifestyle, then you're looking in the wrong place. She is stubborn and she will spend her life fighting the Lycans, never stopping for anything that might get in her way.

This one is a bit of a throwback, but it is very worth it. Mick St. John was the detective vampire from the TV show that was cancelled way too soon, Moonlight. We would love for them to bring it back, but if you want a piece of Alex O'Loughlin you can still catch him on Hawaii 5-0.

Caroline Forbes

One of the most successful vampire origin stories, Caroline takes to vampirism like sunflowers take to the sun. She became a better person once her human side was gone. So a better creature? Either way, she certainly had one of the biggest arcs in The Vampire Diaries, as she went from whiny and bossy to incredibly kind, loyal, and still kind of bossy.

Klaus Mikaelson

This might seem like cheating a bit because Klaus is actually a hybrid. Just because he is half wolf, does not mean that he is not also a vampire. In fact it has made him twice as powerful because of it. In The Vampire Diaries, where he is first introduced we get to know Klaus as the baddie with a heart, buried deep deep down. He is one of the Originals and his story continues on in the spinoff.

Quite possibly the most beautiful female vampire to ever be created, it's no surprise that this character was created by Quentin Tarantino. The concept of the evil temptress is a complex one, something that many people have written about. We think this one was written and performed brilliantly.

Elijah Mikaelson

The soldier of the family, Elijah is also the most honest and protective of the original family. He develops much more in the spinoff shows and we see his relationship with Hayley blossom, break, and blossom again. He is the protector of the family, and probably the most fair and pragmatic of the bunch.

After Twilight, it seemed like everybody wanted to take a chance on adapting a fantasy novel in the hopes of getting the same amount of money from the franchise. Bill Compton is from True Blood, an adaptation of the novels from The Southern Vampire Mysteries series.

A lot of the time, people seem to turn to vampirism as it offers them eternal life. However, John Mitchell from Being Human did it to save the many lives of his troops. He took vampirism for a truly charitable reason, which we think is an interesting angle on the vampire narrative.

Stubborn and difficult, Rebekah is as fierce as she is stunning. Part of the Original vampire clan, her and her siblings were turned with dark magic and gave origin to most the vampires that we encounter throughout The Vampire Diaries 8 seasons. We continue to see her in the spinoff show The Originals that follows her and her family members.

Emmett Cullen

The strongest of the Cullen clan, Emmett was turned when Rosalie found him in a bad state and fell in love with him. She begged Carlisle to turn her and they were together from that moment on. He is playful and the most welcoming of the clan. Not much seems to bother him and he is always down for a good arm wrestling match.

A lot of people, if they were handed the reality of being a vampire, would go insane, which is why it's no surprise that this vampire is definitely insane. She's obsessed with seeming girlish, and yet she also has an unpleasant way with words and non-sequiters.

Based off Bram Stokers creation, Dracula, of the Dracula Untold version is played by Luke Evans. It follows the tragic story of a man who was turned and shunned by society for it.

It may seem complicated, but believe me that is not the most complicated thing about the Salvatore boys. They spent most of their life fighting over the same girl. The first one Stefan got, and the second time around Damon got the girl. It is fair I guess.

Another R named vampire, another beauty. Rosalie, like Rebekah Mikaelson, had her looks heightened in the transformation. Not that they weren't beautiful before, it just was amplified in order to reel in the prey. Survival and all. Rosalie is considered a Hale, like Jasper, as to not seem weird that they were dating someone within their clan.

Probably one of the most short-lived experiences as a vampire, Elena is one of the only vampires we have seen that managed to stop being a vampire as she took a cure. She is the main love interest torn between the two Salvatore brothers in The Vampire Diaries and in the end she picks Damon and they end up happily ever after.
