Music comes in all types of genres. We can range from country, rock, metal, grunge, hip hop, and finally, pop. The pop music genre has been around for decades, and is something that we all tend to have a sweet spot for. These musicians that fall into the pop genre generate music that will reach a number one spot on the charts, and get played on the radio endlessly. We can't help but sing along to these songs!
This type of music is what we hear at parties, in the car on long drives, or even at the grocery store in the background. Regardless of your personal music preferences, you definitely hear pop music once or twice a day. Because of this, you probably have preferences about what type of pop singers you enjoy listen to.

Taylor Swift moved from Pennsylvania to Nashville to pursue her music career at the age of 14. She started out as a county singer, but has transitioned into pop over the years. Her latest release, Reputation, came out in 2017. The lead single, Look What You Made Me Do, topped the charts in not only the United States, but also Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, and the UK.
How do you feel about Michael Jackson?
Michael Jackson is known as the King of Pop. He was one of the most popular entertainers in the world. He made huge contributions in his life, to music, dance, and fashion. He started out as a member of the Jackson 5, but started his solo career in the 70s with Motown Records. Over his career, he never stopped innovating, and in the 90s released videos Black or White, and Scream, that changed the game even further.
How do you feel about Miley Cyrus?
Miley Cyrus is a singer, songwriter, and actress. She immediately became a teen idol playing as Miley Stewart on the show Hannah Montana. She's the daughter of famous country singer, Billy Ray Cyrus. Since breaking away from Hollywood Records and to RCA, she's released Bangerz and Younger Now, her most recent release.
How do you feel about Adele?
Adele is an English singer-songwriter. Her debut album was released in 2008, called 19, and it reached crazy success. It was certified seven times platinum in the UK, and three times in the US. Her latest release, 25, premiered in 2017. With the lead single being Hello, that became the fastest video to hit one billion views on YouTube.
How do you feel about Justin Bieber?
Justin Bieber is a Canadian singer-songwriter. He was discovered by a talent manager after seeing his YouTube videos from 2008, covering popular songs. His debut album, My World, had seven songs chart on Billboard's Hot 100. His fourth and latest album was released in 2015, called Purpose. The lead song, What Do You Mean? became his first number one single on the charts.
How do you feel about Bruno Mars?
Bruno Mars is a singer-songwriter, record producer, and dancer. He comes from Hawaii, but moved to LA to pursue a career in music. He rose up to fame with the two singles, Nothin' on You, and Billionaire. His debut album reached number three on Billboard's charts. His most recent release was in 2016, 24K Magic. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart.
How do you feel about SZA?
SZA has been in the music business for a few years. She released her debut EP in 2012, called See.SZA.Run, and then released another EP in 2013, called S. Her debut studio album was released in 2017, called Ctrl. It rose to number three on the Billboard Top 200 chart, and got certified as platinum by the RIAA.
How do you feel about Justin Timberlake?
Justin Timberlake started his career on The Mickey Mouse club as a child. He became one of the lead vocalists in the boyband NSYNC, which became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. When he debuted as a solo artists, he was very successful. This year, he released his fifth studio album, Man of the Woods. This became his fourth number one album in the United States.
How do you feel about Mariah Carey?
Mariah Carey is called the Songbird Supreme by the Guinness World Records. She's known for her five-octave vocal range, and her signature use of the whistle register. She debuted her album in 1990, that included four number one singles. She became the first artist ever to have their first five singles, reach number one on the hot 100 chart. She's sold over 200 million records, and is the third best celling female artist in the US.
How do you feel about Ariana Grande?
Ariana Grande is both a singer and actress. She started her career on Broadway, and then starred as Cat Valentine on Victorious, and the spin off series. In 2013, she released her first studio album, Yours Truly. This album reached the Billboard 200 charts, and the lead single The Way opened at the top ten of the Hot 100 chart. She's been compared to Mariah Carey for her vocal range.
How do you feel about The Weeknd?
The Weeknd, or Makkonen Tesfaye, is a Canadian singer-songwriter. He first became known by anonymously uploading songs to YouTube with his stage name, in 2010. He released mixtapes in 2011, that were later re-mastered onto his album Trilogy. He's had three number one released, the latest being My Dead Melancholy, this year. He had another top two release as well. Several of his songs have reached the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
How do you feel about Chrstina Aguilera?
Christina Aguilera is a singer-songwriter, actress, and TV personality. She's known as the Pop Princess. She first appeared on The Mickey Mouse club when she was younger. Since then, she was signed to RCA Records after recording the theme song for the movie Mulan. She has released several number one singles, and albums. Her eighth studio album, Liberation, is set to release later this year.
How do you feel about Ed Sheeran?
Ed Sheeran is an English singer-songwriter. He's also a guitarist, producer, and actor. After getting signed, he released his debut album, +. It topped the charts in the UK and Australia, and has been certified seven times platinum in the UK. His second album, x, peaked at number one. His most recent release, ÷, also reached number one.
How do you feel about Post Malone?
Post Malone is a singer-songwriter, rapper, and producer. He rose to fame in the 2010s, with his debut single called White Iverson, which reached number fourteen on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 2016, he released his debut album, Stoney. It reached number six on the Billboard 200. His latest release and second album, Beerbongs & Bentleys, came out this year. The lead single, Rockstar, reached number one on the Hot 100 chart. This albums release broke streaming records, and reached platinum certification in just four days.
How do you feel about Britney Spears?
Britney Spears is a singer, dancer, and actress. Her first studio album was released in 1999, ...Baby One More Time. She also released Oops!... I Did It Again in 2000. These were both successful albums, and made her the best selling teenage artist ever. Five of her singles have reached number one in the United States. As of lately, she is bringing her Las Vegas show abroad as a summer world tour.

Khalid is a singer-songwriter. He has been active in the industry since 2015. His debut single, Location, was released in 2016. It peaked at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has been certified four times platinum. He released his debut album, American Teen, in 2017. His latest release, The Ways, has been featured in Black Panther.

Lorde is from New Zealand, and is a singer-songwriter. When she was just sixteen, she released her first EP, The Love Club, in 2012. It reached number two on the charts for NZ and Australia. Liam Payne is an English singer-songwriter. He gained his fame as a member of One Direction, a popular boyband, that was created after being eliminated from The X Factor in 2010. After their hiatus, Liam has been working as a solo artist. He released his lead single, Strip That Down, from his upcoming debut album. The song reached number three on the charts, and is platinum certified.

Selena Gomez got her start on Barney & Friends. She's primarily known for her role as Alex Russo on Wizards of Waverly Place, from 2007 to 2012. His latest release has been This is America, while performing on Saturday Night Live.

Russ is a singer-songwriter, and record producer. He rose through Soundcloud, where he released eleven albums and eighty seven singles. He's known for his two singles, What They Want, and Losin Control. His debut album, There's Really a Wolf, came out in 2017, and was certified platinum.

Shakira is a Colombian singer-songwriter, and dancer. After becoming a huge success in Latin America with her third and fourth albums, she entered the American market. Her fifth album, Laundry Service, premiered Whenever, Wherever, a successful single of 2002. Her song, Hips Don't Lie, is one of the best selling songs of the century.
How do you feel about Demi Lovato?
Demi Lovato appeared on Barney & Friends with Selena Gomez. She landed her breakout role as Mitchie on Camp Rock. After signing with Hollywood Records, she's released six albums. One, reached number one. The other five reached the top-five. Her latest album, Tell Me You Love Me, included Sorry Not Sorry as the lead single.

Zayn Malik is an English singer-songwriter. He was a member of One Direction, along with four other X Factor Contestants. He left the band in 2015, and signed a solo contract with RCA Records. The success of his first album made him one of five artists to debut at number one, before turning eighteen.

Camila Cabello is a Cuban-American singer-songwriter. She was originally a member of the girl group, Fifth Harmony, formed during The X Factor US. She started establishing herself as a solo artist by releasing collaborations. In 2016, she released the single Crying in the Club. Her self-titled album, debuted at number one, and released with lead single Havana which reached number one in several countries.
How do you feel about Charlie Puth?
Charlie Puth is a singer-songwriter. He first gained a following by uploading videos to YouTube, that gained viral success. His debut single, See You Again, released in 2015, was the tribute song to Paul Walker in Furious 7. His debut album, Nine Track Mind, released in 2016. His second album is coming up, and he released two songs to promote: Attention, and How Long.
How do you feel about Lady Gaga?
Lady Gaga is a singer-songwriter, and actress. She rose to game with the release of her album, The Fame. The singles associated with this album topped the charts, Just Dance, and Poker Face. Her second album, The Fame Monster, was also successful. She's released further albums, Born This Way, Artpop, and Joanne. She is one of the best-selling artists in history. She also starred in American Horror Story: Hotel, from 2015-2016.
