Nintendo is one of the oldest video game companies today and, having practically saved the industry, is still holding onto a lot of their classic franchises. Many times, this can lead to magical experiences, as seen in Super Mario 64, Metroid Prime, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. These games have been so memorable that many people have called Nintendo the "Disney of video games."
That said, they don't just do that by recycling old tropes and franchises. This is done by evolving their games and giving each player options over what they can buy. If you like open-world adventure games, then The Legend of Zelda is certainly the game for you. Do you prefer racing? Then look no further than Mario Kart. What if you're a shooter fan? When it came to trying out the aerial shooter genre, Nintendo created an interesting franchise. Star Fox starred Fox McCloud and his comrades as they worked together to protect the Lylat System from the villainous Andross. Metroid was Nintendo's chance at creating an entirely new genre. Being a game focused on exploration and backtracking, Nintendo successfully crafted the Metroidvania aspect of gaming. Being a hardware developer, Nintendo has not only crafted many excellent games but many excellent (and some not so excellent) gaming consoles. Constantly dividing their support between the home and handheld markets, they seem to be competing for a massive market segment and bring all kinds of people to the bright and colorful world of Nintendo games.
