Let's leave the real world for a moment, and enter the world of witchcraft and wizardry. You know the way - King's Cross Station, Platform 9 3/4. If you're in London, this is good news. If not, better get a plane ticket and come back to us when you get there.
The real world is fine, but it's just not enough sometimes. Sometimes we want to see something super surprising - something impossible. That's what the magical world of the Harry Potter series shows us, time and time again. Flick your wand, make a mouth noise, and you can turn a bully into a pig. Brew a certain potion, and you can become another person for a while, quite literally.
There's a lot to do in the Harry Potter universe, so we shouldn't waste any more time. Remember, you'll need either street smarts or book smarts to keep up with everyone else.
What's that? You don't know if you're street smart or book smart? Well, that simply won't do. How can you even be either of them if you don't even know which you are? What better way to start off this quiz with our favorite hero and his favorite rival - Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy. After seeing these two in action for so many years, you probably have an idea of which is your favorite. Let us know, and we'll try guessing your smarts.
Dobby or Nearly Headless Nick?
Dobby is a House Elf who often proves to be useful in ways no ordinary House Elf can be. Now he's dead, of course - so it goes. Maybe he's a ghost floating off somewhere, hanging out with Nearly Headless Nick. Which of these characters is your favorite?

Ginny Weasley is Ron's sister and Harry's wife, weirdly enough. Hermione is Harry's best friend and Ron's wife - would you look at that. We like one of those couples, and think Rowling missed the mark with the other. In any case, which of these ladies is your favorite?
Albus Dumbledore or Lord Voldemort?
Albus Dumbledore might look like a kooky old man, but let's not forget that he was the most powerful wizard alive - until he died, that is. He was even more powerful than Lord Voldemort, which is why the Dark Lord wanted to do away with him so badly. Which character is better?
Severus Snape or James Potter?
Professor Snape, despite being such a jerk throughout the Harry Potter series, is one of the most prized fictional characters out there, both inside the world of Harry Potter and out. James Potter hasn't enjoyed the same legacy, but we still think he's pretty cool.
Aunt Marge or Moaning Myrtle?
Here's Aunt Marge, floating off into the sky after Harry blew her up like a blueberry. Let's hope she can float back down before getting hit by a plane, otherwise she might be joining Myrtle in the ghost realm. These characters both had brief appearances, but we're sure you have a favorite between them.
Ron Weasley or Neville Longbottom?
Ron Weasley is the fire topped right hand man of Harry Potter, which is a role only he could fill. In a parallel Harry Potter universe, he might have filled that role for Neville Longbottom, had he been the chosen one instead of Harry. Which of these characters is your favorite?
Fawkes or The Basilisk?
Since it's the Harry Potter universe, we can't just stick to human beings for the entire quiz, can we? No, we need some magical beasts in the mix. Here are Fawkes and The Basilisk, representing good and evil, worlds overhead and underground. Which beast is best?

Minerva Mcgonagall or Bellatrix Lestrange?
Professor Mcgonagall is up against Bellatrix Lestrange. This'll be an easy one for you, depending on which Hogwarts House you'd be placed in. Any good-hearted wizard will hate Bellatrix for the things she's done, but a Slytherin would applaud her.
Barty Crouch Jr. or Quirinus Quirrell?
Barty Crouch Jr. is best known as the madman who impersonated Mad-Eye Moody in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He's matched with another impersonator, except the one pulling Quirinus Quirell's strings was Lord Voldemort himself. Which is your fave?
Fred Weasley or George Weasley?
Fred and George Weasley are two of the most beloved twins in all of fiction. At least they were, until, you know... best not speak of such sad things here. Instead, let's think back on all the good times spent with the Weasley twins, then pick your favorite between them.
Xenophilius Lovegood or Gilderoy Lockhart?
Old Xenophilius here is a bit of a nutter, but is he as messed up in the head as the ego-dominated Gilderoy Lockhart? These characters weren't exactly pleasant in the books or films, but we show all Harry Potter characters a basic form of respect. So, respectfully choose your favorite.
Lily Potter or Nymphadora Tonks?
Lily Potter is, of course, Harry's long lost mother, taken away from him by Voldemort when he was just a baby. Nymphadora Tonks, aside from being a formidable witch, also happened to be the object of Lupin's affection, a sentiment she returned mutually. RIP to all names mentioned here.
Vincent Crabbe or Gregory Goyle?
Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle are the two grunts that follow Draco Malfoy around as he goes about his dastardly schemes. They don't say much, but one of them is clearly more book smart than the other, who happens to base his smarts on the laws of the street.
Argus Filch or Vernon Dursley?
Filch is the sneering caretaker of Hogwarts, who always happens to be lurking the corner whenever students are up to no good. Vernon Dursley is perhaps equally unpleasant, though he prefers to torture Harry exclusively, and is pretty nice to everyone else.
Rubeus Hagrid or Sirius Black?
Here are two of Harry's favorite role models and friends: Rubeus Hagrid and Sirius Black. Both these characters guided Harry along his path when he needed their help, and they did so with love. We know it's a tough spot to be in, but you can only choose one character here.
Remus Lupin or Fenrir Greyback?
Here's a battle between two werewolves, since it's only fitting to pit these two against each other. When you think of the Remus Lupin werewolf, does that come across as cooler to you than the Greyback version? Let's find out which kind of smart you are by choosing the best werewolf.
Kreacher or The Sorting Hat?

It's hard to say whether this is the real mad Eye Moody or not, but for the sake of simplicity, let's just pretend it is. Real or not, he has a tough match up against Lucius Malfoy, Draco's dad. These characters are both dark and cool in their own ways, but you can only pick one.
Pansy Parkinson or Lavender Brown?
Pansy Parkinson doesn't spend much time in the spotlight of the Harry Potter series, but we get to see a fair bit of her on the sidelines, since she's Draco's main gal. As it turns out, Lavender Brown was Ron's lady, for a brief stint until she revealed herself as a coo-coo. Which character is best?

Flying down to Hogwarts from lands far, far away, here are Igor Karkaroff and Victor Krum. The latter is ready to compete in the Triwizard Tournament, and the former is ready to coach him to victory. Which of these Slavic sorcerers will you choose?
Peter Pettigrew or Sybill Trelawney?
Peter Pettigrew is the loathsome little rodent who was responsible for the death of Cedric Diggory, one of the best characters of the series. Next to him, we have the slightly awkward but not nearly as loathsome Sybill Trelawney, who thinks she knows everything.
Petunia Dursley or Rita Skeeter?
Petunia Dursley, as you know, helped take care of Harry after his parents died, and we use "take care" in the loosest sense of the term. Meanwhile, Rita Skeeter is the propagandist responsible for sullying Dumbledore's name in the Daily Prophet. Which character is less awful than the other?
Cornelius Fudge or Arthur Weasley?
Cornelius Fudge is the head of the Ministry of Magic. He's an overall good fellow, though he's a little weak and frightened to lead the magical world. Arthur Weasley might not have Fudge's prestigious job title, but he's about 12 times braver. Which character is your favorite?
Pomona Sprout or Molly Weasley?
Although you don't know Professor Sprout personally, you can safely assume that she's probably tending to her garden right now somewhere in the fictional world, just as Molly Weasley is taking care of the Weasley household. Which of these ladies is your favorite HP character?
Narcissa Malfoy or Kingsley Shacklebolt?
Narcissa Malfoy might have a sinister rep, due mainly to her last name and background, but you can't take away the fact that she's a caring mom who only wants the best for Draco. Kingsley Shacklebolt doesn't really care about that, though. Which is your fave?
Bill Weasley or Oliver Wood?
Bill Weasley is here facing off against Oliver Wood, captain of the Quidditch team. The Weasley clan features formidable wizards, but come on - just look at Oliver on the broom there. He's majestic, but is he as majestic as an almost werewolf? Let's see what you think.
Colin Creevey or Percy Weasley?
Colin Creevey happens to be one of the best photographers to ever grace the Hogwarts halls, though no one really cares. They just wish he's stop snapping pics of them. They'd also wish Percy Weasley would stop being such a brat, and just be a normal prefect. Which character is better (or less annoying)?
Cedric Diggory or Rolanda Hooch?
