I wouldn't say these characters are opposites. They're just...different from each other. Ned is goofy on purpose and he likes to help people. Phil, on the other hand, is pretty intelligent and he appears foolish on accident because he is from a different time period.

Now we have Josh from Drake & Josh and Ren Stevens from Even Stevens. Ren is overly ambitious and tries to become the leader in every club while Josh is also a bright student and tries to do the best he can. However, Ren can stress herself out at times from being so studious.

Miranda from Lizzie McGuire is described as sarcastic, smart and funny. She's sarcastic to a fault sometimes which causes her to get in little fights with Gordo. Freddie is calm, even tempered and has a lot of trouble being mean to others.
