We all love desserts. It’s true. Everyone has some sort of dessert that they are all about. Whether you love those berry-filled tarts, rich chocolate cakes, or spiced filled pies, there is definitely something that speaks to you. Desert is almost a meal on its own. In fact, many times, people will hunt down a good place to grab dessert just as much as they will hunt down a place to grab dinner. Dessert is just as much of a staple in our culture as any other meal. People look forward to their dessert and are disappointed if it doesn’t add up to their expectation.

Everyone wants their dessert to taste like their grandmother made it. We don’t like when it tastes mass manufactured; it just doesn’t hit our standard. Also, the ingredients need to be fresh, just like Nana would use. Only the best of the best for our desserts. So which desserts are your favorite? Cheesecake

Does it even need an introduction? Cheesecake is one of the most famous cakes out there that is arguably not really a cake. Made with cream cheese and a whole lot of sugar, this dessert is pretty flexible to any other flavors that is added into it like cookies and cream, berries, or even lemon meringue.

Custard

Custard is creamy and all around a bowl full of dreaminess for anyone that's enjoying it. Made from a mixture of milk or cream and egg yolk, this dessert is somewhat similar to pudding, although it is so much more decadent. Top it off with whip cream of berries!

Apple pie

Ever hear the saying, "It's as American as apple pie?" Well, it's because this is one of the few desserts that hails from the U.S.A. unlike its cousin the apple strudel that calls its home country Germany, the apple pie is a staple of the states and we're pretty darn proud of it too.

It's pretty hard to say that you don't like fudge brownies. Especially the ones that have the ooey gooey center fresh from the oven. It seems like everyone has their own recipe to make brownies, but there are many different ways to make them. Some people add peanut butter, some add nuts, some make them crisp, and some people even add peppermint over the holidays.

It's said that pumpkin pie was served during the first Thanksgiving way back when our founding fathers ate with the Native Americans. However, this is actually a myth as the actual pie was an eel pie made of the local...produce...(ew). Lucky for us this is no longer the tradition, but instead we get a tasty pumpkin pie instead.

Another Thanksgiving staple is pecan pie. This extremely sweet treat also wasn't part of the original Thanksgiving, but has made its way to American tables regardless years later. Pecan pie is actually a testament of The South where they seem to chow down on it year round despite Thanksgiving being nearby.

Here we have an Italian dessert that is comprised of lady fingers and coffee. The issue people tend to have with this cake is that it is a wet cake. Not everyone is in love with that kind of texture. Not to mention it is also a cold wet; the flavors are strong but the texture could be a tough one for some.

Rice pudding is more of a traditional pudding, except it is primarily made of rice. The rice itself makes the pudding come to the consistency that we know and love as pudding if you can believe it. This dish is usually served with cinnamon and some people like to sprinkle raisins on it as well.

A hot fudge sundae really has it all. It has vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, nuts, whipped cream, and even a cherry on top. What more could you want? Well, some people like to actually add brownies or switch up the ice cream flavors, so they might not be purists but it still makes for a great sundae.

An apple crisp is sort of like apple pie, but there are some vast variations to this desert.
