If anyone else has been as invested in "The Great British Baking Show", then desserts have definitely been on the brain. In the reality show, the best bakers in the country are put up against each other in a series of challenges. Each episode, one contestant is eliminated based on the performance in three challenges to reveal the next great baker. The show would make anyone want to make a cake or stretch their baking knowledge for something a little more ambitious. Based on some pastry and cake disasters...maybe stick to a boxed cake mix.

We all have a favorite dessert, even if sweets aren't something preferred. This might not be the place for a "piece of fruit after dinner" person, but if anyone is a fan of Keyshe Lime Pie or Apple Crisp, then this is the right quiz to take. For many people, chocolate ice cream is a hard pick. Ice cream is a sweet frozen dairy treat made from milk, or cream, and sugar. Flavors can be added to change the flavor, and boy are there many. Chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry are your standard flavors that are pretty self-explanatory.

Vanilla ice cream, like its buddy chocolate, is a pretty standard ice cream flavor. You're getting vanilla, there's no bells or whistles here. That being said, vanilla ice cream is one of the most versatile flavors. Add a scoop to pie to create Pie à la Mode, or add your favorite toppings to create the most custom ice cream cone there ever was.

It isn't a proper party without cake, and cupcakes are definitely a great way to go. With cupcakes, you're able to have a variety of flavors while having a similar amount of dessert to that of a sheet cake. Cupcakes have especially become trendy at weddings instead of a layered cake.

Apple pie is a classic dessert in the United States. It's especially popular during holidays such as Thanksgiving or Christmas. Key Lime Pie is a cream pie that is made with the small and tangy key limes that originate from Key Lime, Florida. The juice of the limes are combined with egg yolks and condensed milk. Pumpkin pie is most commonly eaten in the Fall during the holidays, but we don't judge when you need your pumpkin pie fix. It's safe to say that at a place called "The Cheesecake Factory", you will find a good cheesecake. More than that, you'll find a variety of cheesecakes from the classics to fun adaptations. Cheesecake is made of a dairy base such as cream cheese or ricotta and combined with sugar and eggs. A graham cracker crust is traditional.

If you haven't guessed it, a cherry pie is filled of none other than the small pitted fruit. Cherries are thought of as sweet, but the cherries used in pies are typically more tart. Available store bought, or easily made at home, rice crispy treats are one of the few desserts made up of cereal. This fried dough treat was brought over to the United States by European immigrants, and is commonly served at festivals or carnivals. Batter is poured into a deep fryer and the pieces that come out are similar to that of a funnel. The most popular topping for funnel cake is powdered sugar.

Frozen yogurt became a huge trend within the last couple years. Ice cream companies have made frozen yogurt before the trend, but the up and coming frozen yogurt shops definitely contributed to that. Frozen yogurt is less sweet and lower in fat than traditional ice cream. This leaves room for many toppings.

A custard tart consists of a pastry shell filled with an egg custard. An egg mixture is combined with sugar and milk, and poured into the pastry sell. The tarts are baked for a short amount of time at 350 degrees. The tarts need to cool before serving, and they are typically eaten at room temperature. Sometimes fruit will be added on top.

If you're a fan of ice cream and soda, boy do I have a dessert for you! This dessert drink, called a coke float or a spider in other countries, consists of ice cream scooped into a carbonated drink. In this case, root beer! When the ice cream is dropped into the carbonated beverage, it melts and creates a unique texture that is eaten with a spoon and straw.

With having so many names, this dessert has a little bit of an identity crisis because it can be considered a cookie, cake, sandwich, or pie. A traditional whoopie pie is two pieces of rounded chocolate cake that surround a frosting middle.
