When it comes to picking and choosing between our favourite actors we tend to stick to those individuals who grace the big screen. In other words, we focus almost entirely on Hollywood hunks. However, that’s not exactly fair. After all, most of us watch a movie once a week or so but we watch our favourite TV shows almost daily (and if we’re perfectly honest, it is not at all unusual for us to race through a whole season in a day or two).
As such, it only makes sense that this time we’d like everyone to focus on TV cuties. Of course, that’s not to say that some of the TV hunks below have never bagged film roles. In fact, some of them are known as much for their film work as for their TV projects. Indeed, some of them started off doing TV work and then shifted to film. Before they knew it, they were starring in blockbuster movies. Still, quite a few actors below have stuck to TV shows, and we are grateful to them for it.
Most of us had a crush on all these TV hunks at one point or another in our lives. But do we have a soft spot for them in our hearts to this day? Let’s find out! In return for choosing favourite TV cuties we’ll match everyone with their star sign.
Kit Harington?
Kit Harington is one of those TV actors who need no introduction. After all, he has been cast in one of the most popular TV shows out there - HBO’s fantasy drama Game of Thrones. Harrington plays the lead role of Jon Snow in it (IMDb), the son of Lord Eddard Stark’s sister Lyanna and the late Prince of Dragonstone, Rhaegar Targaryen (Game of Thrones Wiki). He has been on quite a few adventures throughout the course of the show. Recently he bowed down to the Mother of Dragons.
Dominic Purcell?
Dominic Purcell is a popular Australian actor best known for his TV work. Most of us tend to associate Purcell with his role of Lincoln Burrows in Fox’s famous TV drama series that was on air from 2005 to 2009 although according to IMDb, the show has recently been revived. Lincoln is a high-school dropout who is wrongfully accused of a crime that he did not commit. Luckily, his brother is determined to help him break out before it is too late.
Andrew Lincoln?
Andrew Lincoln is a handsome man who is most often associated with a popular post-apocalyptic thriller TV series (season one of which was released in 2010 and season nine – the last season – of which was released in 2018). According to IMDb, on the show Lincoln portrays the show’s protagonist and former sheriff’s deputy, Rick Grimes. Over the course of the engaging show Rick becomes the leader of a tough group of survivors who do all they can to fight zombies.
Jared Padalecki?
Jared Padalecki first rose to fame in the early 00’s for his role of Dean Forester, Rory Gilmore’s first boyfriend, in the comedy drama TV series Gilmore Girls (a show that was not very popular at the time of its initial release but which has garnered a serious cult following since). Nowadays however he is more often than not associated with the dark fantasy TV series Supernatural in which he portrays Sam Winchester, brother of Dean Winchester and a hunter of supernatural beings (IMDb).
Daniel Gillies?
Daniel Gillies is without doubt best known for his role of the Original Vampire Elijah Mikaelson on the supernatural TV drama The Vampire Diaries. He later reprized his role in the show’s spin-off The Originals (a show that focused on the Original vampires as opposed to the Elena/Damon/Stefan love triangle). The Vampire Diaries and The Originals were not the only two supernatural series that Gillies has ever appeared in. Indeed, some might recognize him as Dr. Joel Goran from the supernatural medical TV drama Saving Hope (IMDb).
Ian Harding?
The skilled actor Ian Harding came to prominence when he landed the role of Ezra Fitz on the teen drama mystery thriller TV series Pretty Little Liars. Ezra is first introduced to us as a handsome English teacher who has a secret relationship with one of the show’s protagonists, Aria Montgomery. Harding has won as many as seven Teen Choice Awards (out of eight nominations according to IMDb) for his role in this popular TV series that was on air between 2010 and 2017.
Cillian Murphy?
Who’d pick and who’d pass on Cillian Murphy? This handsome actor has starred in plenty of movies but he has not said no to TV projects either. Indeed, when most of us think of Murphy today we can’t help but think of the popular crime drama TV series Peaky Blinders, season one of which came out in 2013. On the show, Murphy plays the role of Thomas “Tommy” Shelby, a World War I veteran and the leader of the Peaky Blinders gang (IMDb).
Penn Badgley?
The role of Dan Humphrey in the once very popular TV series Gossip Girl (on air between 2007 and 2012) was the role that made Penn Badgley into a star. As fans of the show are probably well aware, Dan was a student at St. Jude's School for Boys. He was from Brooklyn and as such was at odds with wealthy teenagers from Upper East Side. However, if you have watched the show to the very end you probably recall that it was none other than Dan who turned out to be “Gossip Girl” (IMDb).
Chad Michael Murray?
While Chad Michael Murray is nowhere near as popular as he was back in the early 00’s there is no denying that he is as cute as ever. He has starred in quite a few TV shows over the course of his professional life so pretty much everyone should recognize him. For example, he played the role of Lucas Scott in the TV series One Tree Hill (on air between 2003 and 2012) and the role of SSR Agent Jack Thompson in the TV series Agent Carter (on air from 2015 to 2016). Nikolaj Coster-Waldau?
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau rose to international fame after he was cast as Jaime Lannister in the popular fantasy TV drama Game of Thrones. Jaime is often referred to as kingslayer (because he took the life of the King that he was serving). He is also known for having a romantic relationship with his sister Cersei and for being the biological father of the now deceased King Joffrey. It was for this role that Coster-Walday was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and a Critics Choice Television Award (IMDb).
Charlie Heaton?
Charlie Heaton is best known for his role of Jonathan Byers on the popular Netflix science fiction thriller TV series Stranger Things. On the show Jonathan is a quiet teenager who hopes to become a famous photographer and who dates Nancy Wheeler. Heaton hasn’t appeared in much else. Prior to landing the role that made him famous he played a minor role in the crime drama TV series DCI Banks and a minor role in the medical drama TV series Casualty (IMDb).
Jason Momoa?
Fans of the famous fantasy drama TV series Game of Thrones will of course best know this talented actor as Khal Drogo, a powerful warlord of the Dothraki people and the husband of Daenerys Targaryen. Initially we didn’t really like him, or agree with the way that he went about choosing a wife. However, pretty much everyone was upset when he passed away. Still, Game of Thrones is not the only TV show that this hunk has appeared in. Prior to landing the role of Khal Drogo he starred in the military science fiction TV series Stargate Atlantis. Currently he portrays Declan Harp in Netflix’s historical period drama TV series Frontier (IMDb).
Wentworth Miller?
Wentworth Miller rose to fame when he bagged the role of Michael Scofield in Fox’s popular TV drama that was on air between 2005 and 2009 (but which, as we have mentioned already, has recently been revived). Michael is a structural engineer who gives up not only his job but also his life so as to break out his innocent brother from jail. It was for this role that Miller was nominated not only for five Teen Choice Awards but also for one Golden Globe Award (IMDb).
Aaron Paul?
Aaron Paul is without doubt best known for his role of Jesse Pinkman in the very popular TV series Breaking Bad, which was on air from 2008 to 2013. He has won a number of awards for this role, including three Primetime Emmy Awards, one Critics Choice TV Award and one Screen Actors Guild Award. Fun fact: According to IMDb, the show’s creator Vince Gilligan knew from the very beginning that Paul was the man for the role but had to convince the AMC executives that the actor was not too attractive to play Jesse!
Ed Westwick?
Most people will probably agree that Ed Westwick is one of the biggest cuties on TV. Today we naturally link him to the role that made him famous, that of Chuck Bass on the teen drama TV series Gossip Girl. On the show Chuck is a student at St. Jude’s and the son of a successful New York real estate mogul. He is incredibly amoral and loves women and alcohol more than anything else in the world. Who’d say yes and who’d say no to Norman Reedus? Reedus is a talented actor who is best known for his role of Daryl Dixon, a member of a group of survivors and the protagonist’s trusted lieutenant, in a popular post-apocalyptic TV series that was based on a comic book series and which first aired all the way back in 2010. Apart from that, he hasn’t starred in all that many TV shows but his filmography is rather extensive (IMDb).
Joseph Morgan?
When the Original Vampire Klaus Mikaelson was first introduced to The Vampire Diaries we were quick to fall for him (as well as the actor who portrayed him, Joseph Morgan). Morgan is handsome and charismatic and the fact that he was cast as a villain only made him that more attractive. Indeed, Morgan’s character was so popular with the fans that a spin-off series called The Originals (IMDb) aired a few years after Klaus first appeared on the little screen.
Benedict Cumberbatch?
Benedict Cumberbatch is one of those actors who are known not only for their TV work but also for their film work. Still, let us stick to his TV projects for now. He became known as a prominent TV actor when he landed the titular role in the crime drama TV series Sherlock which first came out in 2010. Last year he also starred in Patrick Melrose, a five-part miniseries. He not only played the titular character in it but also served as the show’s executive producer (IMDb).
Adam Scott?
Who’d pick and who’d pass Adam Scott? Most of us associate Scott with his role of Ben Wyatt in the famous TV series Parks and Recreation that was on air between 2009 and 2015. Of course, that was not the only TV series that Scott has starred in over the course of his professional life. He is known for playing the role of Kevin Walker in the TV drama series Brothers & Sisters (on air between 2006 and 2011) and for portraying Philip Jennings, an undercover Soviet spy, in a popular period spy thriller that first aired in 2013 and that ended last year, in 2018 (IMDb).

We tend to associate Ralph Fiennes with a number of successful movies. For example, he portrayed Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter film series and he starred as M. Yes or no to Aziz Ansari? As most are probably well aware, Ansari is a talented actor and comedian. When most of us think of Ansari we think of the well-loved sitcom Parks and Recreation. According to IMDb, on the show Ansari portrayed Tom Haverford, the show’s protagonist’s underachieving and incredibly sarcastic subordinate.
