Pick Or Pass On These Diner Foods And We'll Reveal Your Inner Riverdale Character

In the fictional town of Riverdale, before all of the crazy mysteries started to happen, was just like any other small town in Northeast America. Namely, there wasn’t much to do besides play three sports at school, drive around town, and hang out at the local diner.

Even when things started to get super crazy, the kids always ended up at Pop’s for a milkshake break or to devise some strategy. There’s no question that the Riverdale youth are very attached to this retro-looking diner--Veronica used up all of her trust fund money to buy it away from her dad, after all. This place is more than just a diner with very good burgers and milkshakes to them, it’s also a safe place where they can talk about whatever’s on their mind. It’s also a great date spot.

While we only see them get burgers on screen, the crew has definitely changed up their orders every now and then. Diner menus are expansive, and they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day and night long.

Does Betty prefer pancakes or waffles? Would Archie ever order a chicken salad sandwich? Go through the menu and try to see which Riverdale character would most likely order the same thing.

Question 1

Pick or Pass: Cheeseburger

Nothing is more of a classic diner food than a cheeseburger, and it’s definitely a favorite at Pop’s Diner in Riverdale. Any kind of burger is good, since it’s just meat and cheese on a bun, but diner burgers are especially delectable since they’re fresh and usually a ton bigger than a regular fast food one.

Question 2

Pick or Pass: Omelette

The best thing about diners is that they usually have a full menu all day, which means that breakfast can be for dinner and vis versa. An omelette is always a good way to go at any time of the day. There are the classics like a Denver omelette, but they’re pretty customizable--just choose your preferred meats, cheeses, and veggies to make the best egg meal ever.

Question 3

Pick or Pass: Chicken Fingers

Picky eaters and seven-year-old kids rejoice, for there is no restaurant out there that doesn’t make chicken fingers. This is the go-to dish for most non-adventurous eaters of all ages. They are tasty, fried, and very predictable. Even though chicken fingers may not be the most exciting thing on the menu, they are still very good.

Question 4

Pick or Pass: Waffles

If you’re more of a sweet breakfast food kind of person then a waffle is a pretty great way to go--especially in the town of Riverdale, where maple syrup is their main export. They’re like pancakes, but better because they’re hard enough where the maple syrup doesn’t get absorbed into it. Fruit, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, there are so many things that can go on top of a waffle, it’s crazy.

Question 5

Pick or Pass: French Fries

These are the OG side to any meal. Potatoes are great in all of their forms, but French fries reign supreme above all other kinds. Nothing pairs better with a diner sandwich than some fries. Everyone loves fries. Sure, they’re basically just starch deep fried in oil and covered in salt, but nobody’s going to a diner to be healthy anyways.

Question 6

Pick or Pass: Milkshakes

Milkshakes are kind of weird as a concept, since they’re just drinkable ice cream, but they are so good nonetheless. This is truly an American food--go to Europe or anywhere else and a good milkshake is hard to find. Even if you do find one, it probably won’t be right. The ice cream has to be watery enough to drink but firm enough to require some effort to get it through the straw.

Question 7

Pick or Pass: Grilled Cheese

Some people might wonder why anyone would order a grilled cheese when it’s something that can easily be made at home but one could argue that anything served at a diner could be made at home. Grilled cheese always tastes better when it’s made by someone else.

Question 8

Pick or Pass: Mozzarella Sticks

Technically, nobody should really be eating the whole plate of mozzarella sticks but its very easy to fall down that melted cheese rabbit hole, especially when hungry. They probably also get a lot of stomach aches.

Most diners have a “dinner” menu along with all of their burgers and all-day breakfast options, but this side of the menu usually gets overlooked. Meatloaf is an okay dish, and it’s a great struggle meal but it’s a little weird to get at a diner--unless it’s, like, notoriously good. Question 10

Pick or Pass: Monte Cristo Sandwich

This sandwich sounds French, but it is pretty much an entirely American creation, a different kind of play on the classic croque monsieur sandwich. This dish also goes great as dippable sticks, like those frozen ones from the 90’s.

Question 12

Pick or Pass: Onion Rings

Onion rings are the perfect side if you’re tired of eating fries all the time, while still not trying to be healthy enough to agree to getting a side of salad or fruit. They’re a different kind of fried snack, one that’s a little more savory and that pairs well with barbecue sauce. Because they’re more “high-end” then the regular sides, it might cost extra and they usually only give you nine of them, which is the only downside really.

Question 26

Pick or Pass: Mashed Potatoes

As we’ve already seen, most diners have a wide array of potatoes, and they of course include the mashed kind for the dinner plates.
